Just popping back briefly. DD fell for the bedtime routine groundhog day. Phew. Thanks for that Swali. Now got to get washing up done, laundry hung and all the other things that normally happen once she's asleep.

Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 21:33

That's what I've been told as well. It's also common for subsequent babies to not engage until labour starts.

Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 21:34

How old is your DD, Lulu?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 21:34

Bumpalump - boo for popping back out!!

I've been getting crampy pains every night for a week now so thought I was well on the way....Braxton Hicks all day and cramp all night, not so easy to cope with when you have one already to look after. Never mind not long now, due week sat.

mathsmummy27 · 24/03/2009 21:40

Boff - I would love you to be my virtual wife. A few things you need to know though:

  1. I am extremely flatulent (even when not pg)
  2. I quite often eat toast in bed and therefore leave an inadvertent layer of exfoliant for whoever is sharing it
  3. I am not very good at changing toilet roll when it runs out.

I'm sure DH could add to this..

PuzzleRocks · 24/03/2009 21:41

Hi bumpalump

I see you haven't signed up for our buddy system. Do keep us posted with any updates. We are all desperate for some more birth stories. We had a rash of early ones and now nothing.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 21:42

That's vile MM. I have changed my mind now, if that's OK. No offence, like.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 21:43

Mathsmummy lol at your list nothing better than eating toast in bed though

PuzzleRocks · 24/03/2009 21:43

Boff - I'm a stickler for keeping the loo roll supply updated and I never break wind in front of others. I am a much better catch than MM, have me instead.
I do love eating toast in bed too though.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 21:44

OK Puzzle I will make do with you unless I find a toast free person.

Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 21:44

I wish that I was given the chance to eat toast in bed. No such luck, not even on mother's day (DH:"Swaliswan, DD's done a poo, can you come and help?" )

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 21:46

I'm toast free! I can't eat toast first thing in the morning anyway - I have to have something wet (ooer ) like cereal or a yoghurt.

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 21:46

Help what, exactly? Why is dealing with poo a two person job?

mathsmummy27 · 24/03/2009 21:46

Swali I have been rejected I will make you toast if you can put up with the flatulence [hopeful emoticon]

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 21:47

Springy's OK, I suppose so I will go with that for now.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 21:47

Swali - my reply to that would have been "nope not really i'm busy relaxing due to it being a certain special day for me!!! you are big enough and ugly enough to deal with a small poo"

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 21:48

Help = please change her nappy whilst I pull faces at her and pass the occassional bit of cotton wool.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 21:48

Springy, you won't get my leg wet, will you????

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 21:48

I don't know if to be pleased that I've been picked, or deeply offended by the lack of enthusiasm...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 21:49

Mathsmummy - come be my virtual wife your flatulance cant be any worse that what i put up with from dh

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 21:49
Grin
SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 21:49

Swali, you didn't 'help', did you?

& Boff, I'll try not to I know how important these things are

bumpalump · 24/03/2009 21:49

Puzzle, Will do! Sorry havent joined your buddy system but dont want to let my buddy down as I am not sure will have time to think let alone get on mumsnet after baby born...apologies. xx

Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 21:50

His excuse was that he didn't know what he was supposed to do To be fair, it's because her nappy area was the worst affected by her chickenpox and I have been using cotton wool and water to clean her then lightly dusting the area with medicated talk to help dry out the spots. He didn't know my exact way of dealing with it and didn't want to do it wrongly.
