evening guys....

my next scan is 8th June and I will be 20+5 weeks.

no sexing of baby where i am tho - which is a good thing as liked the suprise when i had jess... even tho i thought she was a boy!

Naming crisis here too - at the moment its going to be Abigail Something! or Aiden James.... but Jess was Caitlin for a girl or Callum for a boy til 5 days before she was born!

My scan is on 7th June.
Not finding out the sex, unless DH has a complete change of heart. TBH I'm not too fussed at the mo, will just be glad to know all is well.
Names for a boy are sorted, Lewis (after DH granddad) Marshall (after my granddad). For a girl, we have a trillion. Quite liked Isabella but a girl at work is due to have her girl 9 weeks before me and is going to name them Isobel, and I quite like being different. DH still stuck on Lily Rae, I'm quite taken with Evelyn but will probably change my mind a trillion times before baby arrives!

I'm 17 weeks + 4 days. Not felt movement yet, but first pregnancy, plus I have 'extra cushioning' and an anterior placenta. Didn't know that can affect when you feel movement, thanks for the info Joseyjo!

my scan is tomorrow! and we are going to find out

i am getting quite excited!!!

Got my scan on Wednesday 18 May - will definitely find out sex if baby is in right position and let you all know! We will have to take dd (2) with us to the scan - bit wary of this because at her 21 week scan there were loads of things 'wrong' including indicators of Down's so it was quite stressful - am fully prepared for more 'wrong' things at this one.

Put on 1 st 1 lb now (18 or 19 weeks - I'm not even sure!) and my navel has turned inside-out - I'm looking really big already and someone asked me "How much longer?" at the weekend and looked horrified when I answered "Five months". I've had to remove my navel bar because it was really irritating me.

Not much movement yet but I think that running around after my daughter means I rarely sit down for long enough to think about being pregnant, never mind movement!

Feeling much better now - no sickness at all although back pains starting up.

We've been discussing names - DH honestly wants Anthony (boy) or Blair (girl) - he's SUCH a hardcore Labourite!

My 20 week scan is Wed 17 May and I will be 19+4. DH has changed his mind and wants to know the sex now - I think he was just being stubborn before. Unfortunately at this scan they won't tell us the sex as it's their policy (not that I won't be looking for any signs!), but we're having the 4D scan on 15th July so will definately find out then. Haven't made up our minds if we're telling anyone yet, but I'm sure I won't be able to control my excitment and blurt it out to everyone.

Went in the car yesterday and JJ felt as though (s)he was playing with the seatbelt - felt like big stretches against it!

We like Jessamy for a girl, but finding boys name a bit more difficult, we both quite like Ryan at the moment, but it changes everyday!

Aching at the moment - went for a very long walk, just hoping I can gather up the energy for aquanatel tonight. The relaxation part is worth the hard work for though.

I had forgotten about the tummy button thing. It is so funny waking up and finding your tummy button inside out I might have a party to celebrate if/when I get that far.

I will probably be having loads of scans due to rubbish placenta. I will definately find out the sex if I can.

I have got my first new stretch marks - on my thighs . I haven't even got a bump yet and I don't think I have put on any weight - but I am going to check now.

Well yet another eventfull week in the sanderson household. I managed to get some sort of food poisening from drinking out of an old water bottle. I have never been so sick. DH phoned the midwife when i still wasn't holding down water and she wanted to get me to a and e for a drip. Surprising how i managed to hold down some water after that. Feeling much better now but lost all the weight i had put on. Off to see the Dr tomorrow for a check up and to ask loads of questions about how it might have affected the little one. Have decided to completely give up work and look after my self.

Lexie - you have my sympathies - sound awful not even being able to keep liquid down. I'm sure your wee one will be just fine, but I know it's hard not to worry.

sorry you've had such a rough time of it Lexie. I would like to be included on your scan list!! I've got mine on Friday and will be finding out sex. Think I will be just over 19 weeks by then. We also have to take little dd with us (who's nearly 2). We've settled on Tegan for a girl but not sure of a boys name yet. Thinking of Jack or George but I fancy something a bit more unusual. Will wait until Friday and then decide. Can't wait still waiting for blood screening results!!!

Lexie you're really not having a good time of it lately are you? Poor thing, probaby best to give up work to take it easy.

Triceratops - how are you now after the placenta trouble?

PG is worrying enough when there's nothing wrong, but there's some unfortunate mums-to-be on this board at the moment. Hope you all get through it.

Does anyone know how much weight we should have put on by now? I've lost about half a stone from my before pg weight and only gained 1lb in the last week. Is this normal? Bump is growing by the day so thought I would have gained by now.

I read on a pregnancy symptoms web site that we should have put onbetween 5 - 10 lb by now. Do you think this is right. I have now put on lb since i first knew i was preg (due to last weeks problems).

Have booked to go and see parents in sardinia, can't wait to be pampered for a bit. off in a week. Think i can do with the holiday.

Just checked and surebaby.com says we should have put on between 5-10 pounds by now (week 16)and the fitness in preg book i'm reading says from now on (second tri) we should put on 1 pound a week. This is due to baby growing from 2-3 inches at the begining of the 2nd tri to 11-14 inches by the end of it. Go girls lets eat.

Lexie - sorry your having such a tough time but I'm sure your break will do you good

My 20w scan is on the 17th May will be 20w+2d and I haven't yet decided about finding out the sex yet....when we first found out we were pg, I thought i'd want to know but dh didn't now we have changed over!! what should I do????

Hi Ladies. I don't seem to be able to get on much at the moment to keep up.

Anyway scan is on 3rd June, I'll be 19w+2. Still haven't decided whether we are finding out the sex yet and we're going nowhere with names. There's lots that are just 'ok' but none that really jump out as obvious contenders.

Sympathies to all those having emotional moments. I had a weepy weekend and don't even have a specific reason to blame it on. Dh has been great, he knows i get embarrassed about hormonal crying but last night he gave me a big cuddle and said "don't hold it in, if you want a good cry just let it all out" and carried on cuddling me while i did.

Is everyone showing yet. I'm nearly 16w and just look like I've had a bit too much chocolate (which I have ) but otherwise apart from not being able to get in anything thats not elasticated anymore, there not much expansion going on down there.

Oop, I didn't mean that to sound like I was bragging about not showing.

Piggiesmum I am ab absolute BLOB but I was very big the first time too. I remember going to an antenatal class when I was five months pg before and there were VERY varied tummy sizes there, including a couple who looked ready to pop at any minute (me and another woman) and a couple who were totally flat! Everyone varies at this stage I think.

Getting BIG is quite nice in that I definitely look pregnant and not just fat, but my skin is killing me because it's stretching so much, my bellybutton has popped out and sticks out through my shirts, and my back is starting to kill me!

Piggiemum - my tummy was gradually thickening up till 14 weeks and now at 17 weeks it has really turned into a pregnant bump. I can literally see the changes everyday. We have taken a few photos so i think it's time for another one.

hello all. I am having a doubting few days just now. I don't feel too bad (apart from a cold), I have only put on 1kg since pre pregnancy and don't have any bump to speak of. I still fit in all my pre preg clothes. Am I really pregnant??? I sometimes wonder! I am 15+5 so I suppose there is plenty time yet for the bump to appear. Although I wasn't really overweight to start with (just in the very top end of the "healthy" weight for my height) I have always had a big tum, so I suppose it is just hidden under there somewhere

Mawbroon, I'm with you on your thoughts at the moment!
I've lost 6lbs since getting pregnant and have put none of it back on.
Spoke to M/W as was concerned as lots of books suggested weight loss is okay in 1st trimester due to sickness, whereas weight should be gained in 2nd and 3rd trimesters.
Was told not to worry at all, even if I didn't put on 1lb. Obviously, need to eat, but was told the baby will take everything from me and keep growing, even if I don't gain weight. Told DH it must be some weird fat redistribution or something! Wondering if I'll get a bigger bump but a smaller arse??
Still not convinced, but the M/W in my area don't weigh their patients anyway, they measure uterus and if that's growing as it should, they're happy. DH is considering throwing away our scales as I'm constantly weighing myself to see if I've managed to put weight on. Or rather, stressing if I've lost a 1/4 lb. Damn digital scales!
TBH, when I look in the mirror, tummy is less squishy, bit bigger and def harder than before. Still got morning sickness which I take as a delightful (!) sign that I'm pregnant. Just wish I could feel some movment. So envious of those who have felt it! Especially as still have 4 weeks until scan.

Oh yeah - has anybody elses boobs grown to gigantic proportions?!!! Wasn't expecting this so soon. Am having to buy new bra as pop out of mine when leaning forward

big bump already and it's getting harder by the day! - boobs are not so much bigger but getting heavier! - and deff lots of movement going on in there!!

dp will come with me and if any possible we want to find out what it is!!!! can't wait

i've put on 6,5 kg already!!!!
but they say 10-12kg in total and i am half way so not toooooooooooooo bad.

Let us know how the scan goes - think you're the first to have the 20 week scan out of us that are having it.

Feel sorry for you guys who don't have anymore scans, I don't think I'd last the rest of the pg without another scan - can't wait to see JJ again next week. There are some clinics around who do a normal scan privately for arund £70 if anyone is desperate to see their baby again but can't.

My s-i-l was told yesterday her baby was breech, but I though the baby will keep moving around until around the 8th month - she's only just 6 months now. Does anyone think this should be something she should worry about now? The poor thing has had nothing but trouble with this pg - makes me appreciate the easy ride I've had so far by putting things in perspective.

I don't think having a breech baby at 6 months is any indication that it'll stay that way. Seems strange they even really mentioned it as the baby keeps turning for some time yet (i'm no expert though, I might add ) Good luck susi, What time is your scan?? I'm sure you're the first. Do you have any idea whether you're carrying a boy or girl? It would be good to see how correct our instincts are! I'm sure I'm carrying a boy (don't have a preference either way). Will find out on Friday (don't know if I've mentioned I've got my 20 week scan on Friday )
