Goodness, very similar age gap then, am a bit worried but at least the girls won't get jealous, as they won't know what's hit them!

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 16:03

u have 2 girls? or you know this one is a girl?

i dont know the sex of this one, but praying for a boy!

tew · 16/05/2005 16:06

No, only 1 girl, meant the girls by yours and mine!
Would love a boy, but a girl would be great too.

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 16:07

thats just the reason for having them close together - no chance for jealous behaviour! i know its gonna be hard, but i like a challenge!

a girl would be good because we still have everything from jess, but i was so sure jess was a boy first time round that i really hope i get a boy this time! DH reckons we will keep going till we get a boy!

tew · 16/05/2005 16:32

DH wants 5! I've managed to swop number 3 for a dog, but not number 4 or 5. Told him to find a new wife!

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 20:38

dh would love a dog as well! im not keen, especially with young ones about - told him to wait til they are old enough to help walk it!

LibbyandBensMummy · 16/05/2005 21:23

jolovett · 17/05/2005 09:20

Yeah scan day today! Roll on 2pm.

DH felt JJ kick last night - it was an amazing moment - DH cried - think it was a big reality check that there really is a baby in there!

Fell down the steps this morning rushing to work - few grazes, luckily took the fall on my knees and hands so JJ should be ok. Scary though.

mishmash2 · 17/05/2005 09:28

Best of luck for your scan JJ - am so jealous - mine isn't until 1st June! Am def feeling it moving around now which is lovely - DH also felt it last night and was very chuffed! Hope your fall wasn't too bad as well. I have had some near misses but luckily someone seems to be there to grab me before I hit the ground!

jessicasmummy · 17/05/2005 09:34

my dh felt baby last night too - he was well pleased - brought back memories from when jess stareted to kick!

triceratops · 17/05/2005 11:15

I am so clumsy at the moment. I keep bumping into things (literally - I don't know the size of my own belly!) and spilling cups of tea. I am sleeping much better at the moment so it is not tiredness, I am covered in bruises.

I love feeling the baby move, it makes me feel totally soppy. Good luck with your scan Jo.

jolovett · 17/05/2005 11:30

Arrghhh - time is going backwards today - leaving work in half hour to go.

That's wierd all our DH's felt the babies on the same night. It's great that we're all on here going through stuff at the same time.

Need to get some bigger bras - the last lost I bought are now digging in. Does anyone know where they offer a good fitting service for maternity bras?

YOKEFLEET · 17/05/2005 12:14

Had my scan at 9am and all is well. We weren't given the option of finding out the sex but I really don't mind it was just a relief knowing all was going well. We weren't excited about the scan just apprehensive (sp?) now feel like we can start to bloom!!! yippee
Good luck Jolovett and to all you other ladies with scans coming up, can't believe that the next time we see our little bundles of joy they will be in our arms!!!! (wish I wasn't so hormonal am blubbing away as I type this..sob sob)

Elf1981 · 17/05/2005 13:15

Has anybody not felt movement yet?

Tired today and rather ratty. Seems like forever til my scan... grrrrrrrr.

Glad you all sound well.

jessicasmummy · 17/05/2005 13:15

i know how you feel - had a really bad emotional night last night - couldnt stop crying and i dont know why!?

I think a lot of it was letting out all the stress of the past week with being in hospital etc... i must say i do feel better for it today!

bonniej · 17/05/2005 13:37

jolovett, don't keep us in suspense! let us know as soon as you can how it all went. I also know what you mean about bra size. I've gone up three times since I fell pregnant. They are horrendous melons now. I hate them but dh thinks they're cool

Glad everyone else is doing well, and really glad your scan went well Yokefleet! Not long until October now

Joseyjo · 17/05/2005 15:26

elf - i am sulking today as well.
i had a horrid dream about ds this morning and woke up sobbing my heart out. quite distressing for my poor dh as well.
i have a really annoying muscle spasm in my throat (supposedly stress related) at the moment and it is driving me nuts. it is very uncomfortable and makes me even more stressed.
i have a doctor's apptmt tomorrow night so i am hoping he has a suggestion on how to make it better. until then i am going to continue sulking.
unhelpfully for you elf - baby is moving about quite a lot. my 20 weeks scan is on friday so i get to see it waving again. i can't wait, but i know i am very lucky to be getting so many scans (this will be no.7)
back to my sulking now - i am eating sweets and rotting my teeth....

Lexie100 · 17/05/2005 16:16

Don't think i have felt baby move around and if i did (little flutter) it's not very often. I'm only 18+5 with my first so not too worried. they say next week i should feel it.

Feel like i'm begining to bloom too.

Off to my pregnancy Yoga.

alterego · 17/05/2005 17:29

I haven't felt any movement until just the last week really. I'm now 18+4 - baby gave me a little nudge just as I typed that My Bounty book says first time mums usually feel first movement between 18 and 22 Wweeks and second timers around 16 to 18 weeks. Hth.

mawbroon · 17/05/2005 17:49

I still haven't felt movement that I can say for sure is the baby rather than a big fart bubbling up in there! but I'm only 16+6

Went back to work today after a week off with a horrendous cold. My boss asked me what on earth I was doing there because I looked like s. She meant it in a nice way, and sent me home an hour early so that I wasn't completely exhausted.

I think the fluid retention is kicking in. I was told a good tip is to raise the head end of your bed slightly so that you don't really notice that your head is higher than your feet. Worth a try so that I don't look so puffed up in the morning

Raining and hailstones here this afternoon. Not the sort of weather we like in May. My tomatoes will never grow!!

jolovett · 17/05/2005 18:35

It's a boy!

Everything is fine - took an hour to do all the measurements as he kept wriggling so much! Got see everything. Sonographer told us she weren't allowed to tell us, but after an hour of nagging I think we wore her down.

It was so amazing. The only thing is they said the placenta was still a bit low lying so will need another scan at 32 weeks. She said nothing to worry about and it was quite normal at this stage. So I get to see my ds twice more before he comes along.

Eight weeks to go until the 4d scan and counting!

We're sooooo happy! Had amazing pics as well so been going round all the family this afo showing off our little boy!

morningpaper · 18/05/2005 09:01

Got my scan late this afternoon - I've realised I'm terrified of having a boy, all my friends with boys seem to have SO much more work than my friends with girls! I feel awful admitting it but it's really on my mind. I'm also worried that the scan will show up problems, like it did with dd (although she was fine when she was born, it was really worrying at the time!). And I'm tired and hormonal and miserable at the moment as well! So wish me luck!

SusiS · 18/05/2005 09:13

best of luck mp!!! everything will be fine - just enjoy to look at your little bubs!
i like the 20 week scan - they take so long

and i've got a little boy already and he's just brilliant!! - agreed they do like to explore anything and everything but that's what dads are there for - and i can sit him down with something he doesn't know yet - just pick any household tool - and it keeps him occupied for a long time because he wants to figure everything out how it works - i just made everything 'baby proof' and now he can go whereevery he likes - and he does - so really nothing to worry about!!!! (he's 1 now)

bonniej · 18/05/2005 09:49

good luck mp, i'm sure everything will be great. Little boys are fantastic fun. I've got one of each and have equally enjoyed both. xx

triceratops · 18/05/2005 09:51

Congratulations on your news Jo. Boys are lovely , I am glad everything is OK.

I had a low lying placenta last time and it moved before 32 weeks. This time I have placenta previa at the moment (which is what has been causing all my stress) where the placenta is partially across the cervix (stupid place to put it ) but that will probably move too, if not I will have a planned cs. I don't really care so long as bubs is OK.

I want to know what I am having now. I quite want another boy because the one I have is so great. I don't think I could cope with a girly girl as I was always a tomboy myself(I grew up to be a physics teacher!) and I find reading the disney princess magazine to my nieces absolute torture. I have to make up new stories to the pictures which don't involve jewellery, pretty dresses or make up!
