Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have learned to ignore DHs comments. They are normally well intended, but just come out wrong. Your DH, being a bloke, probably suffers the same problem.

For example, a few weeks ago I was moaning that I just felt fat, not pregnant as I didn't yet have a bump. "you do look pregnant" he said "I noticed when you were in the shower this morning that your two bellies are merging into one"

Enough said. The poor weelamb genuinely meant well and couldn't understand that what he said was perhaps not quite what I wanted to hear!!!

ruthiemum · 10/05/2005 21:13

Ha know what that feels like as well, DH is asking which of the two bellies the baby is in - to which he promptly gets a playful slap round his face! God Bless em!

SusiS · 11/05/2005 07:33

hahaha sorry girls, but your dh comments made me laugh!!!

had our scan yesterday and we'll have to buy looooooooooooooooooooads of PINK!!!!! still can't believe it

will have to get another scan in 3 weeks; she couldn't measure the heart properly; it was just too early! and then another one week 32 because placenta was lying low yesterday - ain't i lucky (not the planceta thingy; but so many scans

Awwhh...I'm so jealous about your scans and finding out you're having a little girl! Not fair - I can't bear waiting the next nine weeks to find out, unless they tell us next week, but I very much doubt it.

After all that chocolate talk yesterday, went out for a meal with a friend and had the most amazing cookies and cream cheesecake in 'Ask' - I recommend it to all the pg women out there - it is heaven!

I'm sure bump is getting smaller this week - probably my imagination cos it grew so fast the last few weeks, perhaps its just slowing down a bit. Still only put on a 1lb.

Hope you're ok jm - get better soon!

Jockey · 11/05/2005 09:46

SusiS - wonderful - congratulations. Must admit I'm a little . You have a lovely time shopping for all those girlie things!

Hope you feel better very soon JM.

morningpaper · 11/05/2005 11:51

Congrats Susi - girls are FAB!

mawbroon · 11/05/2005 12:18

Congratulations SusiS. Did you have any gut feeling about your baby being a girl before you found out? I am convinced that mine is a boy but I have no evidence whatsoever to back this up. I will, of course, be delighted no matter what the gender of my baby.

Also, all the old wives tales point to mine being a boy, so it must be true!!

morningpaper · 11/05/2005 12:43

I think penpal is being induced today - I hope she is okay. I have been thinking of her. (((hugs))) if you are out there still, penpal.

SusiS · 11/05/2005 12:52

yes penpal, i am thinking of you too!!!!!

i sort of had an idea it might be a girl. just because it's soooo different to the last pregnancy

Hello ladies Hope you are all doing OK

Poor Penpal If shes in touch with anyone....I'm thinking of her.

Well we had our booking scan etc last week. I am now 16+1 and all is well. Minime was dancing away ...such a huge relief after losing his/her bro/sis at 8wks. I could have kisses the scan lady. Now on wait for the 8th June for 20wk scan. Think someone else is around that date too.

Well best get back to it.
Till next time
CPT x

CPT · 11/05/2005 13:00

p.s we're leaving the sex of the baby as a suprise (wink)

alterego · 11/05/2005 22:04

Sending hugs to penpal; hope the induction has worked quickly this time.

Hope you're OK jessicasmummy. Did they find out what was wrong?

Finally got some more dates. Booking in appointment at local hospital on Monday, when I'll be 18+3 wks.. (I think I got lost in the system somewhere becasue the hospital receptionist rang up today and said we've either got a slot on Monday or it's a month's wait .) Plus 20 week scan set for 26th May - that's the follow up to the nuchal scan where I had a 1 in 306 risk of Downs, so obviously hoping they can give me an improved risk ratio after the scan.

May have just started feeling some movement, mainly when I'm really scrunched up in a chair and not giving sproglet much room to bounce around in.

Elf1981 · 12/05/2005 09:12

CPT - your scan is a day after mine. Can hardly wait for mine.
Yesterday rang my midwife. Got blood test results for the Slapped Cheek Syndrom which showed I'd had it as a kid so no need to worry. Thank God. Took over 2 weeks for the results!
Secondly, had to speak to her as in the morning I had a really awful pain in my side. Too far over for me to panic about baby, and it felt so much like stitch. Had it for about two hours. Midwife thinks it's either an infection in my bladder / tubes going from kidney's to bladder and must keep an eye out on any further symptoms when going to the loo. (Not helped by the fact that I didn't give a sample at last visit so nothing tested). Or it's just everything moving out the way to make room for Boo.

Think I've felt a few movements, made DH lay last night touching my belly, and he thinks he's felt them too... or it could just be our imaginations!

Burnt myself last night draining a saucepan, dropped it and the hot water went all over my hands and scalded me. TBH was more concerned about the tiny drop that hit the side of my belly than my hands which swelled up all last night!

Hope all are well. Hope you feel better too JM, was worried for you after you got upset on another thread. Chin up!

SusiS · 12/05/2005 09:44

JM how are you getting on? everything ok? keep us informed

oh no elf! i had my hand burnt a few weeks ago - it hurtssssss - hope yours are allright really quickly!

not much to tell you; just feeling quite tires - again! - bump is huge; and i am completly gone of fruits

jessicasmummy · 12/05/2005 09:57

Hey guys,

Not too bad today, had a bad night with the pain etc, but ive got to see how it goes.

Will probably end up seeing docs again on monday once tablets are finished....

Hope all is well on here - roll on october!

mishmash2 · 12/05/2005 13:47

JM - I think I might have missed something - what happened or what do you have? Hope the pain isn't too bad.

I had to go to the dentist yesterday - what a nightmare - 7 injections and 3 fillings later - couldn't feel my lips, nose and cheeks for 3 hours - I was trying to imagine that childbirth would be worse but not really convincing myself!!

Had my first offer of a seat on the tube yesterday - that means I am offically huge!!!

jessicasmummy · 12/05/2005 15:34

Hey MishMash,

I got taken into hospital on monday because of pain and tiredness, nausea, u name it i had it!

Couldnt detect anything, initial consultation from gp thought it was my appendix!

on loads of pain killers etc but still not working - actually feel worse today than i have all week!

we shall see how things go!

mishmash2 · 12/05/2005 16:03

you poor thing JM - that doesn't sound good at all. Have they scanned you etc? What's the next step. It sounds like your DH is lovely and looking after you which is just what you need. Get better soon.xx

jessicasmummy · 12/05/2005 16:05

yeah, had a scan on monday because they couldnt find heartbeat, all ok, the baby is VERY active - wouldnt lie still!

im gonna see how i go, but the way i feel i wouldnt be suprised if im back in again over the next few days!
