Thanks to Nutty for all the thread suggestions including this one. I hope no one minds but I picked this one in honour of the brilliant race commentary we had from Nuts and Frekkles the other night. Hopefully we will get some more.

Due April 2009: Episode 22 - Fanjo Warriors storm hospitals demanding labour NOW!

tristaleejac · 19/03/2009 00:27

HI everyone,
Sorry I never seem to be on this much. I really do wish I had the time to be on more, but life is hectic just now.
Congratulations babypringle! You lucky thing, I'm so impatient now.
Boff - love the hair, you look stunning.
Hope lauren is ok, fingers crossed.
I've been stomping around in the huff all evening as my body is just not behaving just now. I seem to be developing yet another stomach bug. Was up during last night for a couple of hours with cramps, mega bowel clearout (sorry TMI) and couldn't lie down for ages as it made me feel really sick.
Today I have period pain style backache which comes and goes (not in contracting style or anything) and feel pretty sick.
Had mega sore tummy earlier right around the bottom of my bump. It's gone now thankfully, took 2 paracetamol earlier.
I'm sick of this. I'm never sick! Well until December, and I've been pretty useless at avoiding tummy bugs since then.
Really sorry guys, to just appear every few days and moan like hell, but believe it or not, you are in my thoughts a lot of the time, wondering what you're all chatting away about, and it keeps me sane knowing that I can turn on my computer and escape for a while, while I read what you've all been up to.
OMG wait til you hear about MRS Pregnant Head me, this was so embarrassing.
Standing at the till in Tesco's, my stuff came to £4.30, I had £7 in my hand. I couldn't work out if I had £2 left in change to buy a scratchcard. I just couldn't seem to get my brain to work. Over a measley, easy £2!!
The guy was really nice about it though and we both kind of laughed it off, but christ did I feel stupid!
Well I'm onto my 2nd wrap now. DP got very broody when he tried mine on so I offered to make him one in a more masculine colour. Started it today and it's going well so far. Am chuffed at my money saving!
I've got MW coming on Friday afternoon to talk about the birth plan. Can't believe we're so close now. Can't wait. DS is getting really excited he keeps giving my bump big hugs and asking if the baby wants to come out yet. Tonight he was trying to see the baby through my bellybutton. He's a crazy wee man!
Well I think that's all my news, hopefully now I've caught up again I'll be able to stay caught up and actually join in with some talking tomorrow!
BTW my buddy hasn't been on here for ages what should I do? Don't want to text out of the blue and say hey, where are you. I don't have the balls to do stuff like that, I'm a bit scared when it comes to mobile phones.

PuzzleRocks · 19/03/2009 07:17

Good morning

Boff - Those pics are great. You look very young.
Oh and DO NOT IGNORE THE BRAKE LIGHTS INDICATOR.

Talking of cars, is anyone less confident about driving at the moment. I'm finiding i'm having to really concentrate or I start to daydream. I'm avoiding the car as much as possible.

BB - Thanks, we like her. She really is so much more lke DH. Although she does have my eyelashes and, err, my big toes.

Nutty - Yep, they have to go everywhere with us. If she had her way she would bring a full entourage of about 20 assorted characters but we limit her to those two because we don't have enough hands. They quite often need a spin in the washing machine because of all the adventures they go on.

I was in the bath when I realised this was more than braxton hicks so had a quick and not entirely successful defuzz. I then got out and sent DH down into town to get me a dvd to watch and phoned my Mum who had to hot foot it out of work. By the time he was back and my Mum arrived everything was happening really quickly so we went to the hospital where they told me I should go home as I was bound to be ages. I insisted they check me and I was 6cm already! Of course then things seemed to slowed right down. That's one of the reasons i'm going for a HB because I think I would have progressed much better at home.

Just realised no one asked, but i've typed all that now so shall leave in.

BB - I find it's kind of hard to distinguish between whether it's a need for 1 or 2 when you are in labour
And do get a pic of yourself. No one except you and DH ever have to see it, but at least you one then.

Hello
Bit today because when I was in my early 20s, I was quite friendly with Natasha Richardson (although we lost touch years ago), and today I discover she has died from a fall on a beginner's ski slope. Quite shocking. Her lads are only just a bit older than DS1. What a terrible time to lose your mum, just when puberty strikes.

You will be pleased to know that I have phoned the RAC about my brakes and they are going to tow it to a garage, most probably. I am quite aware of my own mortality today.

Sorry to hear of your woes, Trista, and hope you feel better soon.

Puzzle, sounds like a good idea to have HB this time then.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 07:46

Morning - Boff you look fabulous. Well done great haircut.

Nutty - love your Smut-dar for Springy

BB - how is the cramping this morning?

Tristaleejac - love your DS trying to see the baby through the belly button. How adorable!

Puzzle - I seem to be perpetually in the car (unavoidable stuck out her in the sticks - it is a 6 mile round trip to get a pint of milk or a newspaper) but I am really quite shocked by my driving. Twice in the last week I have absent mindedly cruised through red lights. Luckily only a stray pheasant and a few sheep were witness to this as country roads are quite quiet but it freaks me out! I cannot wait to get back home and ditch the car for a bit. Should hopefully only need a couple of trips up and down to London to shift all our stuff. I've managed to do nearly 10000 miles this year - most of it in the last few months.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 07:50

Morning Boffin - x posts.

Very sad about Natasha Richardson. Seems quite unbelievable. She was up and talking after her fall. And was only on a beginniers slope.

DH called when he saw the news and had some stern words down the phone with DD "IF I ever let you ski you will always wear a helmet, and so will your mother". Poor child was quite baffled - not yet two and never even seen a pair of skis. Papa's morning phone call is usually him blowing raspberries at her down the phone.

PuzzleRocks · 19/03/2009 07:56

Hi Trista, sorry you are still suffering. I hope you feel a bit better today? I'm seriously impressed wth your wrap makng sklls.
Re your buddy, i'm sure they wouldn't mind a text.

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 19/03/2009 08:04

Lulu, it's almost unheard of for kids not to wear helmets for skiing now, like when cycling, as their skulls are so soft it's considered vitally important.

Adult skulls are made of tougher stuff apparently and get more arm and leg injuries instead, so people tend not to bother unless they're doing something challenging. On a beginner's slope, having a private lesson, on a well manicured Canadian ski slope, without drunken morons careering down it like in the Alps, you simply wouldn't have thought this would be a problem. I am really to hear it was, and I will always wear a helmet now. It is very scary.

BoffinMum · 19/03/2009 08:06

Hey medical types, do you think she might have had some sort of cerebral aneurism that was bound to happen anyway, whatever sport she did??

PuzzleRocks · 19/03/2009 08:09

Boff - I just saw the news, it's dreadful. DH lost his mother at 19, his brothers were 15 and 16 so he was quite moved. I hope the press leave the family to grieve.
DH is a great skiier but has never worn a helmet. I will insist from now on.

OP posts:
LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 08:22

Boffin - strange you should mention that. A friend of mine had an anuerism and died a few days after a ski holiday. They said it was like an undetected bomb and could have gone off any time but that there was a possibility that a fall and / or altitude could have played a part.

I haven't been skiing for 3 or 4 years now but have noticed that adults are increasingly wearing helmets.

Puzzle - stories like this must be hard for your DH. My ex lost his father young and never really got over it. All sorts of things triggered memories.

brettgirl2 · 19/03/2009 08:35

I think helmets are always a good idea if there is a chance that you might bang your head. I go horse riding, so am pretty used to it as standard but I really have to nag and double check that DH wears his helmet on his bloody bike - I mean ffs everyone knows someone who would be dead without their cycle helmet! This sounds pretty freak though as she seemed fine afterwards - scarily you could probably do similar with a kitchen cupboard or something.

Puzzle - my driving has been awful since about 20 weeks. I'm normally pretty good (in a careful kind of way) but I have gone through a red light, almost pulled out on someone on a dual carriageway and a couple of times stopped at green lights .

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/03/2009 08:37

Morning

Trista - if its any consolation i have had bad waterworks from my bottom of late and then it clears up after 2/3 days, had a nose on the net and its apparently down to hormones changing again and our bodies adjusting. darn hormones!!! grrrr. yay for the wrap being a success do give your buddy a text, i'm sure it will be fine as everyone agreed to be txt by their buddy in the first place xx

Puzzle -your dd is so cute lol dd still carries her bear everywhere, its like her best friend

Boffin - so sad, i lost my mum at 14, such a confusing time, the poor boys

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 08:38

'stopped at green lights' - well that's more likely to incur road rage in the driver behind you than anything else .

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 19/03/2009 08:40

lol i'm glad i cant drive at the minuite (though its irritating for me its probably safer for other road users )

brettgirl2 · 19/03/2009 08:41

One of the times was at one of the busiest roundabouts in the whole of Coventry on my way to work hahahaha.

LuLuBai · 19/03/2009 08:43

Smutty - sorry to hear that. A very difficult age to lose your mother.

Brettgirl - out of interest have you carried on riding while pregnant?

PuzzleRocks · 19/03/2009 08:45

Nuts - I didn't know that. I'm sorry.

Gah got hydro today, seriously deabting not going (have been all week tbh) i spoke to my physio on tuesday and she said they will try to get me out of the pool without the hoist this time but i'm still a bit on edge. she said i did far too much in the pool last time to so i'm only to try and straighten my back and try and regain my posture this time.

oh well, i can always refuse to go again if its as bad this time.
