cross posts there boff!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:00

Boffin - you are so not being unreasoable with this. Please dont think that, she has to accept responsibility and do the job she is PAID to do. Shes acting like a rebelious teenager does to her mum or someone and doesnt seem to realise this is her JOB. You are not her mum and you shouldnt have to act like it, telling her off and so on, your dh should stop being soft and taking sides too tbh (sorry if thats out of line). She has been wavering between brilliant when pushed (which is not on) and damn right stupid.

You would be well within your rights to tell her to do one!!

and you have been more than fair too. I would have had her out on her ear at the leaving DS fiasco. how many more chances does the girl want???

Also boff, Having got to know you over the past few months while I don't see you as being particularly thin skinned, even if you were, that is not the point - she shouldn't be making you feel uncomfortable in your own home! ANyway hope you get it sorted.

BoffinMum · 13/03/2009 21:03

There was also a great product called AciGel which made the vagina more acidic and did a lot to prevent and/or treat thrush, but it's been discontinued, I think. So if the Bicarb doesn't work (alkali, I think) you have the option of bunging something acidic in another bath instead to shift the ol fanj pH in the other direction.

In terms of cream, there is a great one called Trimovate that contains steroids, antibiotics and an antifungal, that if applied in the very earliest stages seems to work better than Canesten. However they may not give it to you in pg.

surprisenumber3 · 13/03/2009 21:05

thanks Boffin, will have a chat with Pharmacist tomorrow. I always get it when I have antibiotics and although I haven't had any lately, DH is on them and I wonder if he has it, without symptoms, and has lovingly passed it on....

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/03/2009 21:06

Evening all,

Am sitting at home feeling miserable because DP's 'I'm popping out for a couple of beers' has turned into 'I won't be home till at least 11pm and I'll be legless' and I'm really quite peeved with him. Have just told him to sleep in the spare room as I don't want waking up by someone all boozy (sleeping is enough of a problem with adding that in) and think he might have registered that I'm quite cross.

Schulte, sadly the beauty on my profile is the wonderful Dorothy Parker - if only it was me, I'd be very pleased!

Thank you to everyone who admired DS' spacesuit and his cuteness - I think he's gorgeous but I do freely admit that I'm biased..... He has now worn the space suit for two days running and it's kind of fallen to bits, but he loved it while it lasted and the nursery was very impressed

Seems I missed a whole load of fruit smut last night, shame. I like a nice fruiting

BabyBolat, hope that baby is staying PUT! Can't believe all these others are popping first, does noone in Britain know how to queue properly any more? We were FIRST! Any news from the labouring ladies?

Have to go and write birth plan now and fume gently about DP. Boffin your AP sounds like a nightmare, beat her soundly with your crutches.

xxx

BabyBolat · 13/03/2009 21:07

surprise - my friend really suffers with it and actually found out her DH had it constantly but never had any symptoms so every they had sex she got it bad again!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:08

Mumble - ((hugs)) hope you manage to see the doc and feel a tad better soon xx

OP posts:
surprisenumber3 · 13/03/2009 21:08

hmmm...I feel a sex ban coming on! Can't imagine having to give birth while it feels like this!

BabyBolat · 13/03/2009 21:09

WFH - I know, feel like we should have implemented a deli counter type system where you take your ticket and WAIT UNTIL YOUR NUMBER IS CALLED!!!

BabyBolat · 13/03/2009 21:11

if he goes to the drs he can get the treatment and it will clear him up - because they don't tend to have any symptoms it can just keep going back and forth even if you clear it up yourself!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:12

Boff - would fresh lemon juice work then do you think due to the acidity??

WFH - you know though as soon as they say "just a few beers" that it's going to be an all nighter lol doesn't make it any less annoying though.

OP posts:
Juwesm · 13/03/2009 21:12

You're not thinking of applying lemon juice directly to sore fanjo?? Yikes!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/03/2009 21:13

Exactly. No shoving at the back.

When DS was born, I was due at the very end of the month and then he was 17 days late - there's actually 8 weeks between the first baby from that antenatal group and DS, so every week at our meet ups I would sit there feeling more and more peeved as they all popped and turned up with their babes

this will not happen this time round! even if I have to try castor oil blergh.

surprisenumber3 · 13/03/2009 21:13

BB - I will send him packing to the docs!

WFH - I get frustrated with DH having a drink now, I think he should abstain incase he needs to take me to hospital...not that he listens of course!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:15

Suprise - (apologies in advance) it would be quite funny though going into hospital with youghurt smothered over your fanjo.... foaming fanjo......not only in labour but fanjitus too

BB - hand me a ticket theres a love

OP posts:
WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/03/2009 21:16

Smutty, I know, I'm just feeling miffed that he hasn't called me all day, no enquiry as to how I am, and now he's out drinking and going on about how he's had a hard week.....erm, let me think, you were away all of last week so you got to go out on business dinners while I was working and looking after DS all on my own, and he was away on Wed night, and then tonight again I have to do bath and bed all on my own.....when do I get to go away and shirk the childcare

Sorry, a bit of a rant there.

Am also worried in case labour starts and he's three sheets to the wind, I'm scared enough about trying for a VBAC without having to worry about him not being up to much in terms of support.

BabyBolat · 13/03/2009 21:16

castor oil????

surprisenumber3 · 13/03/2009 21:19

oh smutty, that is gross! What a stink, live yogurt on hot skin!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:19

WFH - your at st mikes arent you?? i will come with you if you like xx ((hugs))

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 13/03/2009 21:19

WFH I think that is fair enough - feel free to rant!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:20

Suprise - sorry, feel free to smack me round the noggin

OP posts:
surprisenumber3 · 13/03/2009 21:22

no it's funny, I bet these midwives have seen some sights!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 13/03/2009 21:24

lol can you imagine

OP posts:
WhatFreshHellIsThis · 13/03/2009 21:26

Indeed, BB, castor oil. Last resort if you go horribly overdue, apparently it clears you out and can help get the baby started. Yuk though.

Thanks Smutty - will let you know if things occur! At the moment I'm cross enough to just go and give birth without telling him
