I used to live in Limerick bleu

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:34

sorry but i do like a good big mac now and again lol

BoffinMum · 10/03/2009 18:34

I just think HB is easier and less painful for low risk mums, and if they are near a hospital anyway (which most people in the UK are) it's a good option. Plus you get a dedicated mw, which can make or break a normal birth IMO.

Re: Asda. The risk here with a 1.5 year old is not stranger danger, it's her pulling something on top of herself and getting hurt. The mother was daft.

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 18:35

I was so into the McD's hashbrowns when I was getting over morning sickness. I could not get enough of them. And also chicken nuggets with honey... I know you guys don't eat get nuggets with honey over here (DH nearly vomitted when he saw me eating them so I know many will probably think they're discusting like that), but you can get them in the USA and I only ever got them as a rare treat back home when I was little. I was craving them like crazy for some reason when I got off the sickness. So I indulged twice. I was in heaven.

SpringySunshine · 10/03/2009 18:35

I'll bet you do & any excuse to get the whip out, too!

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 18:37

Did you trista? How do you feel about the place? Dh has an interview for a job over there...pays not the greatest, but it would be a job.

Carameli · 10/03/2009 18:37

ok sorry just need to have a moan to people who will understand me.
I am cooking fajitas etc for family and the smell is just so so so so yummy, but my body won't let me have it. Heartburn giving me terrible problems and pains at the moment so off to tesco in a bit for a pk of zantac. feeling really frustrated as I love this meal as it such play food with the kids

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:38

Springy - well.....y'know where theres a whip theres a way

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 18:39

Oh Carameli! I know just how you feel! I am the EXACT same way with fajitas lately. I Adore! them, and yet they just don't sit right...Enchilatas are reasonable for me though so we tend to have those instead.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:40

Caramelli - ooooohhhhh fajitas!!! mmmmmmmm yum cant you just have some and guzzle gaviscon after

BoffinMum · 10/03/2009 18:42

Have told SM off a bit.
MNTowers say they'll take her most abusive post off if it's really a problem.
God this place reminds me of school sometimes.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:43

Boffin - well said on t'other thread!! i fear you will have to dust off your boxing gloves though

Carameli · 10/03/2009 18:44

tried that the last time I did them and felt so ill even with gaviscon. Really need to get to my gp about this heartburn and get a prescription for zantac or the other name starting with 'r'. It worked wonders when I was given it at the hospital with ds after thinking I was in labour(had a bit of a red face when the said it was just heartburn) never knew it could be so painful.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:45

Caramelli - try getting your doc to prescribe you omeprazole x

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 18:45

Is ther anyway to get unborn babies to 'settle' a bit? This little one is STILL acting like he's wanting to burrow his way out from beneath my ribs, but there's so little room that it really really hurts my belly all the movement...The skin is so tight it burns when Sprite moves...

PuzzleRocks · 10/03/2009 18:48

Kitty - That's shocking grounds for dismissal. I hope you sock it to the bastard.

Surprise - Have a hug, you poor soul. If the baby is very active, i'm sure everything is ok. I would take your friends word for it with regards to your bump. She has a better perspective as she can see you from all angles. Sorry to hear you are still nauseous.

Trista - You are a great house. And don't apologise for moaning, that must have been very frightening. Do you think the diarrhoea might be a clear out before the start of things?

Oh bugger, migraine coming I think. Will catch up later

SpringySunshine · 10/03/2009 18:48

With honey? Really? That's quite something I was going mad for fries & milkshake through the sickness. Funny how we turned to McD's, considering how unhealthy it obviously is. So much for craving important nutrients!

& the dedicated MW is the thing that tempts me about a HB. The general being in hospital thing doesn't bother me at all.

Carameli · 10/03/2009 18:48

is that better than the others Smutty?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:48

Bleu - unfortunately not that i have found, sorry. do moisturise the area lots to try and give the skin more elasticity though and put it in the fridge before you use it will be a bit soothing if nothing else

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:51

Carameli - it's supposed to be, i have it at the moment and its one a day it does ease anything gastric and prevents nausea too.

tristaleejac · 10/03/2009 18:54

bleu - I will be totally honest with you, so please understand that this is only my opinion.
I thought Limerick to be a beautiful city and the majority of people there are lovely. In terms of where to live there, I'd seriously consider somewhere lovely, just outside the city itself, as there are a lot of rough areas there.
There is a large travelling community in Ireland. They are mostly wonderful people but there are at least 2 of the large travelling families who live around Limerick who have been feuding for years. In the 2 years I lived there (just outside Limerick in the country thankfully) There were at least 4 incidents between these 2 families where someone was shot at and the other family retaliated (sp?) in the days that followed. All incidents involved guns and a few were murders.
Now that is not to say that Limerick is a nasty horrible place. These incidents were mostly at the homes of the family members, away from the public.
I lived there happily for 2 years. But if I'm completely honest, that ongoing feud is one of the reasons I used in deciding whether to return to Scotland. I think the fact that I wasn't from the area made me more nervy about it.
I don't want to influence your decision in any way. If you actually choose to live on the outskirts, and travel in for shopping, socialising etc then it is a really lovely place. I just wouldn't live in the city.

SpringySunshine · 10/03/2009 18:54

Carameli, I feel your pain I keep wanting curry for dinner - I really want some, but I physically can't

Boffin, I feel a lot like it's all very playgroundy too. They don't even upset me, but I can't help but be a bit at some of the women here - women who are old enough to know better & are meant to be responsible mothers. It really quite worries me to think that some of the women here are raising children - they don't stand a chance!

Puzzle, hope the migraine doesn't hit too hard & can be shaken off quickly. They're horrible

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:54

totally safe during pregnancy also

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 18:55

put the belly in the fridge? I wish!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:56

Puzzle hope you feel better soon ((hugs)) xx
