Let the ramblings commence.

Have snuck back on in a huff.

Carameli - I second the omeprazole - tiny packs of Zantac you can get at Tesco aren't worth it, you really want to take 150mg twice daily, and then your tiny packet is gone in a couple of days. Get a nice script for a month's supply of the good stuff!

Glad to see other thread has relaxed a bit. I reported the original abusive comment as it really was a bit excessive (although on reflection it was no less than she appears to deserve). Does that make me a grass? Will I need witness protection?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 18:59

Juw - why a huff? have a whip much more fun

tristaleejac · 10/03/2009 18:59

bloody hell puzzle, I hope not. No it's definately a bug. I refuse to let the baby out early! I'm not ready yet! [crosses legs]

Juwesm · 10/03/2009 19:01

Not in huff with MN! In huff with DH for being in a huff with me for being on here so much! But I am better at huffing!

BoffinMum · 10/03/2009 19:02

Huffing hell.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 19:03

Huffs all round then

Juwesm · 10/03/2009 19:03
Grin
Juwesm · 10/03/2009 19:04

T'is better to have huff'd and lost....

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 19:06

than to have n'er have huffed at all

Bleuravin · 10/03/2009 19:09

Right, I'm off again. Dh is home, I'm going to lather my belly with a nice rich lotion and eat something different for supper. Hopefully things look up for everyone tomorrow and we all get in a good nights sleep because the LOs sleep well and late and none of the aches and pains that have kept us awake in the past leave us alone tonight!

trista thanks for your thoughts! We appreciate all the info we can get.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 19:10

careful not to puff as well as huff you might blow the house down

gingersarah · 10/03/2009 19:23

On the subject of narky mn-ers - I have always been mystified by the "shut up about it, get a life, what is wrong with your priorities" rage that some people have. I used to work with a woman like this. She was always escalating small disagreements which were none of her business into huge fights, and demanding senior management arbitration on them, and then halfway through all this would say, "have we not all got better things to do than argue the toss over this?" and everyone would think, well, just back off then, you are free to drop this any time. Similarly, on the internet, I always wonder why people start aggressively telling people not to bother posting about "trivial" things - well if you find it trivial, how have you got the energy or inclination to come on here, read it, and start berating people about what they are posting?

gingersarah · 10/03/2009 19:29

Springy - I do think the red herrings suggestion on the other thread is excellent though. Text your buddy with a code word that we can then text around the group so that we will know when you are taking the p. Say the code word is "puppy". you can then post things like:

"It was great to hear from my ex again, a lot of old feelings flaring up. I can't wait for DH to leave for the day so that I can get straight onto skype and have a lovely long chat, staring deep into his eyes, hearing all about his cute new puppy"

"I think I have managed to keep the hard drugs from DH. I do feel a bit guilty about stealing that puppy to pay for them though."

etc etc

mathsmummy27 · 10/03/2009 19:51

Springy just a quick note to say I'm really impressed on how you handled t'other thread - exemplary without being too prim - yay April mummies

And I LOVE the fact that some others, far from 'piling in', backed you up discreetly. I love it when ignorant provocative people get their comeuppance

LuLuBai · 10/03/2009 19:51

Gingersarah - I am in awe at your cunningness. And also rather baffled by the idea of stealing a puppy to pay for hard drugs.

Ha ha ha.

LuLuBai · 10/03/2009 19:58

Gosh Springy - just caught up with your thread. You have handled yourself very well.

Thought NorthernLurker was great too. She seems a very sound woman (she was very funny on our late night Manjo thread too - think she should be an honorary April 09 mum).

Evening All,

Am struggling to catch up this evening but I'm desperate to ask a question so I'm going to post it and then go and catch up...

What are you ladies planning to stock your freezer up with? I've been using stuff up from the freezer and making some things to go in it but I really need to get on with stocking up with good, super-easy to cook post-birth foods.

Schulte · 10/03/2009 20:32

Just a quick one as I'll be off upstairs in a moment to keep an eye on DD... she's been coughing again for the last half hour and she sounded a bit hoarse earlier. Really quite worried as this coughing has been going on for over a week and is now getting worse

I had a pregnancy massage booked for tomorrow but at this rate I will be taking her to the doctor's instead

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 20:33

Soup, caserole/stew, chilli con carne, spag bol, sheppherds/cottage pie.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 10/03/2009 20:34

Shulte - your poor dd hope it gets better xx

LuLuBai · 10/03/2009 20:42

Oh Schulte - sorry about your DD. My DD had a really nasty cough for lots of the winter. Couldn't get rid of it. Hope your doc is helpful.

Swali I like to keep in my freezer:
macaroni cheese (I add in extra veg like leek & mushrooms so it isn't just stodge)
*Shepherds Pie
*Chilli con carne
*Home made soups in individual portion sizes (I'm really anal about this in particular!)
*Homemade quiche (in sizes for all the family as well as small individual mini-quiches
*Homemade pasta sauces

NB I don't make these specifically for the freezer - whenever I am making macaroni cheese, soup, quiche etc I make extra to freeze.

I also keep in stock
*sausages & bacon (for DH)
*wholemeal pitta bread
*carton of milk
*peas & spinach
*ready made pastry (shortbread and puff)

I confess I am a leeeetle bit obsessed by having a well stocked freezer in case of some sort of unforeseen emergency.

Currently don't have a freezer of my own during house renovation and it makes me nervous

LuLuBai · 10/03/2009 20:52

OMG I've actually managed to kill the thread with my confessions about my anal freezer-hoarding tendencies.

Swaliswan · 10/03/2009 20:57

Sorry, Lulu, I'm not ignoring your helpful list it's just taking me ages to catch up. I'm trying to read Springy's AIBU thread atm.

mathsmummy27 · 10/03/2009 21:06

Lulu I am in awe...

I have nothing but ice cubes and ice pops in mine (slight fetish atm)
I have asked all my amazing Delia-type friends to beign me food every time they visit for a few weeks after the birth (sounds mean but they will love it)
They have even organised a rota. sigh.. this is when I love having older mature sensible friends
