Good luck hedgewitch and happy mothers day to all (even those with bumps still intact)

law - sounds hopeful - fingers crossed!

Wheelybug · 22/03/2009 15:18

Congratulations Yarnie and Superjump and Boobz - sorry the VBAC didn't work out Superjump but hopefully you feel like me and its the end result that counts ! Despite the statistics of 70% VBAC actually happening it does seem like most VBAC attempts end in theatre.

Good luck Hedgewitch and Law

laweaselmys · 22/03/2009 16:54

I've had a few every five minutes now. Can still talk through them, and still got my plug and waters...

I suppose if it keeps on at this level for a while I will call MW and see what they think but still feeling good about this being the real thing, if early days.

Oh this is all too much for me all these babies!! i am so so excited for you all .

Gosh!! HW things must have kicked so quick for you i hope all is well and have a feeling you may have your DD in your arms now

laweaselmys Hows things going?, all you first time Mummies have been so brave!! you all should be very proud!

lizziemun · 22/03/2009 18:33

Robert David arrived (finally 40 + 11days) yesterday at 3.25pm weighing in at only 8lb's.

Quick birth story

Got to the hospital at 8am to be induced. Given Gel at 10am when checked at 2pm was 8cm and moved to delivery suite.

And given gas & air got to 9cm when the midwives started to get concerned as baby heart rate wasn't recovering quick enough. Was rushed to theatre, where the midwives were getting the bits ready for a Ventouse delivery ready and the consultants telling us that they were going to put in an epidural, or just decide and do an emergency section when i pushed baby out. The cord was around his neck twice and he had low oxygen levels so we had to stay in so he could be checked later.

Have just one minor tear and no stitches.

Baby was back to back as well so today i feel like i have been run over by a steamroller .

EllieorOllie · 22/03/2009 19:31

40+4 and still here...

Would you lot please stop going into labour??!! Particularly those going early. It's driving me bonkers.

Massively pleased for Boobz though - I had a similar labour and would never have got through it at home. She is superwoman!!

Having a go at a reflexology induction tomorrow. Apparently it's quite aggressive, although just how aggressive someone squeezing your toes can be is entirely beyond me...

Consultant appointment re proper induction is on Fri. Somehow get the impression that they don't expect me to get the baby out naturally.

Oh well. Good luck to Hedge and Law and everyone else who's feeling the twinges. Hope you all have your lovely bundles in your arms very soon.

Wheelybug · 22/03/2009 19:43

Congrats Lizzie !! Well done for getting him out with them intervening.

Ellie - you'll be surprised how much reflexology can hurt if they press the right bits. It surprised me !! Good luck - hope it works.

jollyjoanne · 22/03/2009 20:14

Gosh lots of action going on here - congrats to everyone! And from Hedgewitches posts it appears she may have had her baby too! Yay for Mothers Day!

laweaselmys · 22/03/2009 21:55

I'm still in here, not much progress since last post so have decided to try and sleep and see what happens... have to admit I'm slightly terrified that I will fall asleep and everything will just stop. contractions are pretty regular with gaps of 3-6 mins, but they're just not getting any stronger which is frustrating me.

Wish me luck!

good luck to hedgewitch, law and also to meep having her cs tomorrow. Hope all goes well and we look forward to hearing the news of baby's arrival.

Ellie i am envious of all these babies too as i am 40 weeks tomorrow and I have no signs of anything happening soon!!!

lollipopz · 23/03/2009 09:33

Wow can't keep up with all the new arrivals! Well done boobz your story is amazing and so are you!
Good luck to HW and Law,you might have babies by now
I am still here, can't be that many of us left with bumps still in tact? No signs or any thig I am 39 +2 today so could still have aother few weeks like this
Good luck t every one who needs it L x

auntyspan · 23/03/2009 10:00

Looks like Hedgewitch has produced!! Look here

grinningbee · 23/03/2009 10:45

Wow, it was a busy mothers day!

Massive congrats to Boobz after that marathon, and to HW and anyone else in the last couple of days too.

Still very pg here, and not an inkling. 39 + 4 today and I reckon I'm having an April baby. I think it'll be April 1st which is our wedding anniversary!. I do think she's dropped a bit further overnight, and am off to do supermarket shop on my own in a bit so maybe that will jinx things (I can hope!) my mobile phone is also knackered which could also help the jinx.

We took MIL out for dinner yesterday, and for the 2nd week running I got asked when the baby is coming as she is getting lots of people ask, and she helpfully suggested I take castor oil, or liquid paraffin!!!!!!! I think not.

kanga5 · 23/03/2009 12:51

well hooray I am 40 weeks today 40 weeks today 40 weeks today...and yes nothing is happening..

had a few friends round to help pass the time but it didn't start anything off.

congrats to hedgewitch, great day for a baby to arrive.

hope meep is ok in hospital today.

titmouse · 23/03/2009 13:25

well done hedgewitch - maybe the pay off from weeks of pre-labour is a very quick one when it finally gets going!

My mum said to me yesterday that it would be lovely if I could just hang on and not have the baby til next monday or tuesday (due in 3 days) and I looked at her blankly, she reminded me that monday is her birthday and tuesday is my wedding anniversary - I told her yes it would be lovely but I was not even willing to contemplate being pregnant another week!!

I'm a bit fed up, getting a lot of BH all evening every evening, baby going crazy in there, sharp pains in my lady bits - but I don't think any of it is a significant sign that labour is on the way. Impatience is a completely new experience for me, I don't normally get like this but I am feeling pretty down and people are asking all the time if the baby is here yet when it so obviously isnt!

jollyjoanne · 23/03/2009 14:43

Law i hope that the signs mentioned earlier did indeed turn out to be early labour and you are now with your gorgeous baby.

and Meep I hope everything has gone OK for you too and that you are also now with your new baby.

Baby Mae is still doing fine, she's getting the breast feeding thing quite sorted just need to sort the night and day thing now. Although trying to keep her awake during the day does seem to lead to lots of crying!

Best wishes to those who are still waiting for their little ones!

jollyjoanne · 23/03/2009 14:44

Oh and congrats Lizzie

EllieorOllie · 23/03/2009 19:50

Evening all...

Stil hanging on here. Had the reflexology today, thought i was going to pop straight after! Was all nauseous and dizzy and wierd. But then nothing happened! Grrr!!!

Hoping that it might kick off still, as I am a bit spacey and baby is unbelievably low. Probably wishful thinking though.

Many congrats to the HedgeWitch, and I hope Law has produced too...

Amazing how quiet it is on here. I guess everyone has headed over to the postnatal thread...

corgikelly · 23/03/2009 20:20

I'm not sure there's anything to the jinx thing, grinningbee...but I keep lining up social engagements just in case!

I've made it through the two big pre-due-date things I wanted to do -- had a FABULOUS time at the Lyle Lovett concert last night, though was totally gobsmacked to see a woman show up with a baby in a Maxi-Cosi that couldn't have been more than a month old. Can babies sleep through live concerts??

Congrats to all the new mums!

I bought a birthing ball today and have been bouncing and leaning a la ellie in the hopes of convincing Cletus to shift, but he's having none of it, stubborn little git.

corgikelly · 23/03/2009 20:22

Ellie, just saw your post about feeling spacey, and that's EXACTLY the way I felt earlier today. All I felt like doing was staring off into space for the longest time.

rubyring · 23/03/2009 21:11

i will join the space cadets, 40 + 1 today keep getting on and off cramps, few contrax, then nowt...don't feel v with it, surely won't be much longer...great news about all these bubbas! x

lilymolly · 23/03/2009 21:54

I am still here 40 + 7

Going for sweep tomorrow........wish me luck
