Congrats Lauren & Fruity

Good luck for Monday Meep i am sure that everything delivery and BFing wise will be just fine.

Things look like they are starting to kick off for boobz have a look at her HB thread Here .

Alex is still adorable, feeding and sleeping well, bless him he is just so chilled out its untrue!! he even falls asleep in the bath!! according to DD1 all he does is sleeps, eats boobs and bum burps!! lol, this is what she told the lady over the road .

twocutedarlings · 20/03/2009 20:21

aunty she is stunning!!! so much hair.

I must try and add some piccys uploaded, things have been really hectic this week DH went back to work last Monday, things have gone ok - well the girls have been at school/nursery on time every day so i cant have done to bad, but i have just felt like i didnt know my arse from my bloody elbow............thank god its this weekend!!

corgikelly · 20/03/2009 21:20

aunty, your DD's pic has led me to a massive readjustment in perspective -- I've always thought babies were supposed to be rather horrid looking for a good six weeks or so, kind of like naked mole rats. But your DD is so "finished" looking, so alert! I am impressed (and now hopeful).

Good luck Monday, meep, and good luck tomorrow (right?), lizziemun. Hope everything goes smoothly, before, during and after.

Still hanging bat-like off the front of the sofa, spending 30 mins at a time on my hands and knees and pelvic tilting for God and country. Cletus shows NO signs of flipping over, drat the boy. Funny (or not) -- my dr's take on posterior positioning SO reflects the fact that 90% (no exaggerating) of Belgian women have epidurals. No wonder she says it's no big deal... I don't think she quite understands that I'm not automatically going to have one if I can avoid it.

meep · 20/03/2009 22:29

corgi I managed OP labour for 2.5 days with TENS machine then some gas & air - I only had an epidural because they put me on the really strong hormone drip to try to coax dd out! Cletus may turn himself once it all kicks off anyway!

Yarnie · 21/03/2009 15:57

Hi all. Just thought I'd pop in to report the safe arrival of baby Spike! He arrived at 4.30pm on the 18th, assisted by ventouse and weighing 7lb 2oz. We're both in surprisingly good shape - no conehead for Spike and my nether regions feel pretty normal considering the episiotomy. Not even a paracetamol required.

Well done on all those beatiful babies, Mums - and keep them coming!

Special congrats to my old thread buddy Fruity. Sounds like you had a great csec Jack is a sweetheart! I'll post a pic of Spike when I next have two hands available(!)

kanga5 · 21/03/2009 16:22

congratulations Yarnie, that is brilliant news, hope things continue to go so well for you...

it seems pretty quiet here, I think everyone is watching Boobz's HB thread. Mind you she needs the support by the sounds of it, what a marathon labour it is turning into-poor boobz, keep going, the end result will make it worthwhile

lilymolly · 21/03/2009 16:24

still nothing here

been dancing around to scooter and clubland tv still nothing

At this rate, I will prob be the last person on here x

Yarnie · 21/03/2009 16:30

Gosh, yes - poor old Boobz. Her labour does seem to be taking on epic proportions. I do hope BabyBoobz makes an appearance soon. I'm loving MrBoobz' updates!

titmouse · 21/03/2009 16:53

congratulations on all the birth announcements in the last couple of days, we seem to be getting through the list quite fast!

Nothing going on here, went for a long walk with husband earlier and pretty much staggered home clutching bump, what a sight for the neightbours!
I tried doing some wiggly dancing to see if it made the baby move - it didn't, but it made me laugh so much I had a coughing fit and then I threw up in the sink, so I think I'll avoid that in the future.

poor boobz she is doing brilliantly and all the support is lovely to see. Sending labour-y good luck to all those in the throes today xx

lollipopz · 21/03/2009 17:10

Poor boobz hope things are hotting up for her. Congratulations to all the new mummies

Well 39 weeks today and been crampy for days but nothing too serious, really don't want to go over due but starting to think that may be the case!

My friend had a wee boy on Thursday and I am !
Hope we get some new arrivals in time for mothers day Lx

EllieorOllie · 21/03/2009 17:32

Oh dear, Boobz seems quite disheartened. Such a shame when things don't seem to be going how you plan them.

Congrats (as always!!) to all the new mummies. I'm 40+3 today. Bah. No sign of bubs. Bring on the induction...

Spent all day in a highly hormonal state. Have thrown the remote control at DH's head. And cried copiously when he confessed he hasn't bought a card or present or planned anything for mother's day . Way to make an already irritable woman extremely angry...

corgi have you tried bouncing gently on a gym ball while leaning slightly forwards? seems to be keeping my lo nicely OA... i alternate with hanging over the gym ball. although i guess you need to coax him/her out of the pelvis first so that s/he can turn. oh, and s/he needs to be awake when you are trying to turn him/her, something i only found out the other day...

mamasmurf · 21/03/2009 18:33

Ellieorollie 40+3 also. I think the last 3 days have been longer than the last three months. A bit crampy and some BH if i move around for hours but nothing like any labour starting. Are you booked for induction?

It's an exciting night of ball bouncing for me!

corgikelly · 21/03/2009 18:35

Thanks for the tips, ellie -- I did read somewhere online that you should take action in moments when the baby is nice and lively, so I've been trying to capitalise on those.

But I think you've put your finger on the issue -- he's already well down in the pelvis, and no matter how much he's moving around, nothing fundamental is changing in his position, even when I do the "extreme" inversions (kneeling off the front of the sofa, with head on folded arms on the floor).

No birthing ball chez nous, alas.

I'm really frustrated as I know none of the medical staff at my clinic will take this seriously, and aren't going to help in any way, so it's just me and my online researches. I would love to have a midwife or SOMEONE here to actually help, but that's not going to happen.

Hats off to boobz -- what an ordeal!

I have just been checking in on Boobz too - I though my latent stage with dd was long - but hers seems neverending. She's doing brilliantly though!

Congratulations yarnie and welcome to baby Spike - looking forward to seeing the photos.

Dd was awake at 4am this morning and we could not get her back to sleep. So me and dh have been taking it in turns to have a nap!

I was so looking forward to having my last weekend with the 3 of us and instead I have turned into snappy, homonal, sleep deprived woman from hell.

Fingers crossed for sun tomorrow as we're offto the zoo for my mothers day treat!

jollyjoanne · 21/03/2009 20:31

Congrats to Yarnie and welcome baby Spike.

Can't believe how long poor old Boobz is taking in these early stages she is literally having to be superwoman. I don't think I could survive 60+hrs without sleep without the contractions and labour - I really feel for her.

Mae didn't sleep anywhere near as well last night and the DH is getting a bit worried about how he is going to cope next week when he goes back to work and Mae is still basically nocturnal.

Looking forward to tomorrow as we're going round to my mums - it'll be nice to have a proper meal cooked by someone else. DH tries but he just isn't a chef and I still can't be bothered.

Good luck to everyone waiting to pop!

mamasmurf · 22/03/2009 06:16

I'm getting quite a bit of sharp shooting pain in my lady bits which feels like ligament stretching, has anybody else had this in the days before labour?

laweaselmys · 22/03/2009 10:51

Having mild contractions (I'm pretty sure not BH anymore!) every 10-25 minutes. Was vomity and TMI diarrhoeay this morning too so am feeling hopeful at putting myself on the maybe list again!

Fantastic new about Boobz, and congratulations to lauren, fruity and yarnie!

Good luck HW!
