lilymolly · 19/03/2009 19:54

me still here too
40 + 3........went 42 weeks with dd so still a whiiiiiiiiilllllllllleeeeeee to go yet

corgikelly · 19/03/2009 20:10

Remind me again, meep, why you've got an early delivery date? Was it an issue of gestational diabetes? (don't think so, but can't remember...)

meep · 19/03/2009 20:18

corgi - I just went for an elective this time due to horrid birth last time round and not really fancying trying to vbac knowing that it is likely to end up with an emergency section again - just want a nice calm delivery and be fully aware of what is happening so that I can give bf a good go this time round! (it was my preceived "failure" at bf that nearly resulted in pnd last time around and I really really don't want to go there again!)

corgikelly · 19/03/2009 20:22

Oh, yes, now I remember! How amazing and bizarre to know you'll be meeting your baby on Monday...I hope all goes well, including the bf-ing.

meep · 19/03/2009 20:27

very bizarre - and a wee bit scary too! You never know he/she could try to make an appearance beforehand ............. yikes!

EllieorOllie · 19/03/2009 21:07

corgi - apparently the spinning babies stuff does work, but bubs can turn round in early labour so there are no guarantees. just insist like crazy that the midwives check what position the baby is in when labour actually starts. because posterior labour is horrible and you really need to be aware if it's happening to you. my bloody midwife said to me yesterday "oh well if he does turn posterior all you need to is labour on all fours and then he'll turn". er, no, not exactly...

got all excited earlier, as was having contractions every 10 minutes and they were total agony, but it all fizzled out after 2 hours. boo...

meep i'm so jealous that you know when you're going to meet your lo. fingers crossed he/she stays put till then...

can't go into labour tonight now anyway, as i just had a small glass of wine to take the edge off things! don't fancy trying to explain that in hospital...

laweaselmys · 19/03/2009 21:28

Don't want to jinx it but maybe maybe something is happening... have had stomach hardenings plus actual proper pain! Not loads of pain, and I could still speak through it perfectly fine.

So either BH are getting stronger so could be soonish, or very very early labour? maybe? that would be funky if so

My friends have just opened a book on when I will give birth.

How are you getting on Law?

laweaselmys · 20/03/2009 08:05

All fizzled out early this morning!

Oh well, never mind.

Hello all! Just thought i'd let you know about the arrival of Hannah Rose at 8.42pm on Wednesday. She was 7lb 12oz and is beautiful. Very long labour (not supposed to happen second time 'round!) resulting in having waters broken. All a bit stressful but absolutely worth it, and will be even better when I can sit down!

Haven't had time to read thread, but will catch up soon. Good luck and congratulations to all x

corgikelly · 20/03/2009 10:48

Congratulations, lauren! If memory serves, you were well overdue for this 'un. Sorry to hear it was more rigourous than foreseen, but what a lovely name!

kanga5 · 20/03/2009 12:58

congrats lauren, welcome baby Hannah. Hope you feel comfy soon!!!! Newborns make it worth all the wait/stress/discomfort...enjoy baby.

meep · 20/03/2009 13:38

Congratulations lauren and hello to baby Hannah! Remember to check in here now

corgi just don't do what I did and lie on your back on a big squashy sofa with yor feet up. I did that a lot with dd because I had elephant ankles and she ended up OP.

ellie is right - if you do go into labour and the baby is back to back make sure that they tell you. No-one spotted it with me and it made for a very scary 3 days because it just seemed to go on for ever. I think if I'd known what the problem was I could have tried everything to get her to turn and would have been less frightened as to why it was taking so long.

law sorry that everything has stopped - hoping it all gets going again soon.

boobz what is happeneing with you?

jollyjoanne · 20/03/2009 13:38

Congrats Lauren!

Fingers crossed for those of you who seem to be getting ever closer to giving birth, I'm sure that a few false starts are helping the process along a bit and helping to shorten the actual labour!

mamasmurf · 20/03/2009 14:53

congrats Lauren. Beautiful name.

ellie hopefully the baby will turn for you. It sounds like you are getting close now.

I think i am in for a big wait. As i won't be induced at all it could be April for me too. DH birthday is April fools day so hopefully comes before that.

Wheelybug · 20/03/2009 18:34

Congrats Lauren on Hannah !!

Meep if I don't get on over the weekend (which I probably will) good luck for Monday ! Look forward to hearing your news and was it Madigan going in today for a c-sec ? Hope all has gone well (apologies if got wrong person).

How's everyone else doing ? Sounds liek there will be lots of baby popping action soon !

FruitynNutty · 20/03/2009 18:45

Hello, just thought I'd let you all know. My lovely little boy was born by elective c-section on Weds 18th at 11:09am
He weighed 8lb 5oz (tiny compared to my 9lb 12oz DS1!)
He's all wrinkly but delicious and I can't stop staring at him

FruitynNutty · 20/03/2009 18:46

Oh and his name is Jack Arthur Broughton-Harris

kanga5 · 20/03/2009 18:50

congrats to you Fruity!!! hello baby Jack, love his name.

After a bit of quiet it seems babies are on their way again...

kanga5 · 20/03/2009 18:51

ps love the pic too!!!

meep · 20/03/2009 19:30

baby Jack is gorgeous! Congratulations fruity! How did you find your elective?

Thanks wheely - feeling very weird that I will have a baby on Monday - told dd tonight and she just whacked my bump and looked none the wiser!

FruitynNutty · 20/03/2009 19:57

thank you
Elective was very calm. very straight forward.
I had an emergency last time which also went very well. This time was even better! Fom looking at the way the "normal birth" mothers on the ward looked I think I'd almost prefer the c-section way! Of course next time I will hope for a vba2c regardless but it just went so smoothly and I don't feel sore at all really, just a bit tender

auntyspan · 20/03/2009 20:07

Hi ladies - just checking in - have uploaded some pics of my gorgeous DD - now nearly three weeks can you believe it!!

Fruity glad you had a good elective, I had to be given a sedative as I was freaking out.... it took them an hour to get my spinal in!

jollyjoanne · 20/03/2009 20:08

Congrats Fruity! Another very cute baby. Glad everything went OK.

Good luck Meep, hope it all goes well on Monday.
