Congratulations to Fearless - and all the other new babies which have appeared on this thread over the last couple of days.
Good luck Boobz - hope it all kicks off, and that it goes well for you.

I am resting up today before big day on Friday ....... can't believe it has come so quickly now.

mamasmurf · 18/03/2009 15:28

Boobz hurray for the show but definately slightly . This is my due date!! (jumps up in down in style of dd) Good luck

This morning Have been to ASDA, LIDL and health food store to buy anything which will move things along. Even BH have stopped in the last few days. Done some Yoga and been for a walk too.

I have an assessment tomorrow too. Not a big fan of this eitherlilymolly.

Hoping for VBAC but will op for section rather than be induced. In NI they are very keen on VBAC which seem totally oppposite to what happens in the rest of the UK.

fearless so impressed by you sticking to your guns re the induction and monitoring. Hoping on insist on something similar. I have been told i have to be continuosly monitored due to previous section and can't go near the lovely home from home suite.

mamasmurf · 18/03/2009 15:33

Sorry for long post.

Forgot to say congratulations on ds fearless love the name.

meep · 18/03/2009 15:45

they are keen on VBAC here too mamasmurf - I nearly had to go and see a MW counsellor because I wanted an elective section!

Congrats to eveyone who has had babies recently (sorry - haven't had time to read all the posts - it's moving so fast on here at the moment!) and for the birth stories!

Last mw appointment for me today to give my pre-op bloods. Wasn't my usual mw and she said that she thought I was going to be having a 9lb baby - eek - glad it's coming out the sunroof !

boobz hope your show is that start of something for you. I never lost anything like a "plug" with dd - just had some bloody discharge on eth morning that I started contractions - then mild period like ones, followed by a 3 hour nap - then wham!

kanga & lollipopz I have my fingers crossed for no sickness bug here. DD had some horrid nappies "poo.....oh mama....poo....sob" yesterday but (touch wood) they haven't come to anything yet. I have a horrible cold and felt pretty fevery last night but am hoping that all will be well by Monday. I wonder if they would postpone my section if I'm ill?

I wonder if slickbird has had her baby yet - haven't heard from her sonce she had internet problems?

Wheelybug · 18/03/2009 16:06

Congrats MKG - great story.

Great story too Fearless ! Its stories like these that make me feel a little sad about lack of VBAC but I know that its not always like that and its the end result that matters (pulls self together !).

Boobz - sounds promising - good luck.

Mamasmurf - they are theoretically pro-VBAC round here but I think very risk adverse so are very quick to c-sec IMHO (so many of my friends have had c-secs at my hospital which may just be coincidence).

Right will wander over the postnatal to say hello but will be keeping my eye out for news here !

Hope all has gone well today fruity.

Madigan · 18/03/2009 19:19

Meep - I have another cold too ...... and section on Friday, Was wondering if it will stll go ahead - reckon it will.

twocutedarlings · 18/03/2009 21:27

no news from Boobz ?? me thinks she is in labour!!

Come on!!! Boobz !!!

titmouse · 18/03/2009 21:51

Boobz is posting on the HB thread over in childbirth - looking promising!!

grinningbee · 19/03/2009 11:13

Morning all!

Congrats to more new mummies

39 weeks today... is everyone else off having their babies or cuddling their new ones?

I'm bored waiting now!

titmouse · 19/03/2009 12:16

hi grinningbee another 39-weeker here, also a bit bored and really wanting to cuddle this baby!
Any signs of yours yet? I'v not got much going on, my plug has been coming out in bits over quite a few weeks and had a bit of low-level pain here and there but nothing significant. We noticed last night the baby's bottom has moved from the right to the centre so wonder if he/she is getting lined up, certainly didn't appreciate having it squeezed!

Hope everybody is having a relaxing day - especially those in labour, if you can!!

xx

grinningbee · 19/03/2009 12:24

Do you think we've been left to sweep up in here titmouse? lol

Nothing going on here, plug still firmly in the plughole I did lose it before (at 11 weeks) so I guess I have another...? I have been having the odd BH but it's all gone off for now.

I've noticed that nipper is more central too having always prefered to lay in my left side. She's a little quiet today, but I'm sure the tea and toast I'm about to scoff will change that!

I managed to waddle around Asda last night as I'm going a bit stir crazy although my lady bits ache like mad today. Ah well, suppose I should enjoy it while it lasts!

Hope you're not too fed up.

mum2b09 · 19/03/2009 12:31

afternoon ladies

Congrads to all the new mums i am soooo

I was due march 15th had a sweep yesterday and i still dont think its getting me anywhere fast i cant wait to meet my baby!

how you are all feeling well today

x

mamasmurf · 19/03/2009 12:43

What's that there is somewhere left i can clean. Even got DH hoovering now.

Had appt with consultant this morning and she seems quite happy to let the baby cook for as long as it takes. I did suggest an elective section at 10 days but she sees no need. She did delight in telling me it was a big baby and couldn't give me an exact weight as it was off the scanner??

Does anyone know if continuous monitoring is a nesscesity with VBAC or can i negoiate even a bit?

wheely I do get the feeling a lot more end up with cs than they let on.

EllieorOllie · 19/03/2009 12:47

Congrats to all the new mummies, and hello to all the ladies (like me!) that are left.

I was so so so sure that this baby was going to be early. There should be rules for 2nd babies... But now I'm 40+1, and there's no sign of him arriving. My plug must be gone by now - i've been losing it for fecking ages. Baby's head is engaged completely. And i woke up this morning with cramps that have totally vanished. Argh. I'm beginning to think that he's gonna drop out instead of me actually going into labour. He couldn't BE any lower without sticking his blimmin head out to say hello.

I get the impression everyone else is as fed up as me on here! In fact it got so bad that i stopped logging on cos i was too jealous of the birth stories!!!!

And DD has given me a crappy head cold so i'm sniffing constantly. Gah! Someone give me some bloody lemsip...

titmouse · 19/03/2009 14:40

ellieorollie I have a cold too, have no idea how since I havent been anywhere in bloody days!

grinningbee well aching lady bits might be a good sign of something I'm a bit fed up but I went out earlier to get some bits and pieces in town and then my friend who is even more fed up than me with toothache came over so that was nice. Interesting that your LO had moved more central too, lets hope it is a good sign!

mum2b09 was your stretch and sweep painful at all? Somebody we know had one yesterday and their baby came out right away, I'm sorry it wasn't the case for you!

laweaselmys · 19/03/2009 16:11

Right - just been to MW as am 40wks today. I don't get a sweep until next week at +7! (lame) and if that doesn't work they book the induction at +14!! I don't want an April baby!

Anyhow, as I have painful bits and braxton's all week... plus my belly has gone very solid, very experienced MW couldn't be sure baby was still in the same place as everytime you prod me belly solidifies so can't feel the limbs anymore...

Anyway. She seems to think it might my turn before the end of the week. Having said that she thought I'd be early too which I'm obviously not! Oh well.

I went and rented some Grey's Anatomy to plough my way through and cheer myself up with.

kanga5 · 19/03/2009 16:17

grinningbee, titmouse I am in here for the long run too...

saw MW today, baby is 3/5ths engaged, so no dramatic expulsion of waters expected here. She said it feels like a long lanky baby, better to squeeze out I guess!!! I asked for a sweep next week, but she said more likely the week after...booooo....so I asked for an induction date and she said probably April 3/4!!! More boooooo....so same situation as you laweaselmys.

rubyring · 19/03/2009 16:42

hello all! i was convinced this one was going to be early too, ellieorollie, but at 39+4 looking most unlikely too! Loads of cramps that fizzle to nothing, pah! now scared may have to be induced.... Wanted to say many congrats to all who have given birth, i keep weeping when i read your stories! am eating tons of pineapple, curries, took kids to park, hoovering like mad...just really can't face sex, i know it might work but wld rather curl up with hello mag or something! oh i want to give my little one a cuddle...!

wheresmybump · 19/03/2009 17:39

i'm glad i'm not the only one left. im 39+3 and fed up of all the back ache and cramps that are making me think im getting somewhere then totally vanish Im exactly the same rubyring i'll give anything a try but sex is a no go. Any news on boobz???

titmouse · 19/03/2009 17:45

kanga I'm 3/5ths too and was convinced from the bowling-ball feeling in my pelvis it was more than that - hurray for all the babies in no hurry, we'll get our cuddles eventually.

corgikelly · 19/03/2009 17:56

Add me to the list of those in it for the long haul...39+3 today. Went for a consultation and the OB said Cletus' head is well down, but I've not dilated any more than the 1cm I was at a week ago -- and he's facing forward, not backward.

She was both funny and reassuring about that bit -- said he was obviously a romantic who preferred gazing at the stars and that given how mobile he still was (my belly was rocking and rolling as she did the ultrasound), it wouldn't take him more than a minute to flip into the proper position.

However, I had the words "back labour - pain - larger head circumference to squeeze through" running through my head, so I came home, got on spinningbabies.com and have been entertaining myself with abdominal lifts, pelvic tilts and hanging inverted off the front of the sofa all afternoon! Fingers crossed this stuff actually works.

Is there word of boobz on the HB thread?

lizziemun · 19/03/2009 18:39

Saturday is EVICTION DAY horaay. I will be 40 + 12days.

meep · 19/03/2009 19:18

I'm still here too - technically only 38+5 - but eviction date for this little one is on Monday!
