Were there any tapirs? I love tapirs.

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 20:47

Evening Ladies.

Springy - you say that you have had an ECG so I would not worry about having an SVT as it would have shown on the ECG. An ECG with SVT is noticeably different to one that shows a normal rhythm and electrical pattern that is just faster than normal. I'd imagine that you will be fine waiting until tuesday to discuss it with your doctor.

Talking of doctors, does anyone think that I need to go and see one? I have managed to get an infection from biting my cheek during the night (I am such a freak!). You can see white, infected bite marks on my cheek but the pain, redness and swelling is spreading over the surrounding area and I have an awful sore throat and earache. I know that it sounds a bit pathetic to call the out of hours doctor for what is essentially an extremely sore throat and earache but I wonder if I am going to need antibiotics to clear the infection up. I don't know if infection generally is a problem in pregnancy. I am feeling quite grumpy because I am soooooooooooo hungry but I can barely swallow solid food. I've taken some paracetamol and it isn't helping at all

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 20:53

Swaliswan - i would just to be on the safe side xx

BabyBolat · 06/03/2009 21:01

LOL at the pregnant ladies hugging - may resemble something like this Could it be that they look better than I do!!

You will all be pleased to know that at 9 O'clock I have just got out the bath and changed my clothes so am clean for the first time today!!! this may be why DH is so reluctant to do the deed - all that faffing about 'hurting the baby' is just a cover up

Swali - you can't eat - then def call the dr - mouth infections are horrid so best to get some anti-biotics sorted - do you have an out of hours clinic you can go to - they should be fine if they don't have to come out to you!

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:05

Took me an hour to catch up!

Swali - yes see the doctor, I wouldn't risk anything with an earache, a) it can hurt like hell and b) you don't want to risk any damage to your ear?

Frekkles / Sarah - totally normal to have very bad moments in pregnancy, as everyone has said. You'll likely have more of those once the LOs have arrived I am afraid but you'll also have lots of highs and will be loving it, promised. (Most of the time anyway.)

Now then, never mind the placenta in those lotus birth pics - Was anyone else freaked out by the massive boobs & nipples? Looked like that lady's nipple was about the same size as baby's head?

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:07

Oh and BB thanks for asking after DD, she was fine in the end after a few nights of coughing but DH has the flu at the mo.

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 21:14

Schulte, I was more concerned about the really poor latch that the baby had.

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:15

There is something I have been thinking a lot recently... I know some of you are really fed up with being pregnant (for good reasons) and impatient to meet your babies... BUT am I the only one who is actually glad about the fact that LO is still inside me and not crying, pooing, keeping me awake at night and chewing on my nipples? I am absolutely determined to enjoy these last few weeks of peace and quiet... in fact I am even hoping for LO to be late please tell me I am not alone to be thinking like this?

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:16

LOL Swali I know but with nipples so big it must be difficult for the poor little thing!

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 21:18

But there is so much to aim for, it shouldn't be difficult to get a bit more in the poor baby's mouth! All I can say is - she is going to regret latching the baby on like that after a few feeds. Owwwwwwwwwwww, ow, ow, ow, ow!

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:21

There seem to be women who never get sore nipples even with really bad latches, and others who struggle no matter how hard they try to get the positioning right... from my observations anyway..

mathsmummy27 · 06/03/2009 21:23

I wish I had your patience and fortitude Schulte. I know logically that this is true, but I am being driven slowly insane by the waiting/stopping/starting issues, and the fact that I am still at work so would have to literally drop everything...

In my scariest dreams I am not pg at all but a huge hypochondriac (beginning to think DH thinks this..)

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 21:24

Bleu - That's great that DH has something in the pipeline.
As for reading whilst in labour, trust me, it won't happen. If it does, we want filmed evidence and then I think it's only fair Nutty sticks to her side of the agreement.

Swali - I am shattered all the time too, I have no idea how I managed the zoo today. A few days ago I struggled to walk to the local duck pond and back with DD.

Kazkiss - Your babies are absolutely gorgeous.
Ju - Do you know which is which?

Bronze - I hope you are feeling better this evening.

Electra - What wonderful news, you must feel so relieved. Here's to every possibility of a wonderful homebirth.

Boff - That telephone call would have had me spitting feathers.

Can I recommend Peter Rabbit Naturally Better toiletries. DD has very very sensitive skin and other stuff plays havoc with her. It's a fair bit more expensive but worth it if you have a baby like mine. That said, most babies are fine with Johnsons stuff.

Schulte · 06/03/2009 21:26

(whispers) Mathsmummy, I am actually a very impatient person. I am just cr@pping my pants at the thought of having to deal with a newborn again!

mathsmummy27 · 06/03/2009 21:30

Schulte, I made such a major hash of it last time I can't possibly be any worse!

Swaliswan · 06/03/2009 21:33

I am soooooooooooo hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Clearly moaning is going to help the situation)

I'll phone the out of hours service in the morning and see what they say. Typically, DH is away this weekend so I may want my mum to help out with DD tomorrow if I need to go to the clinic. I really can't be bothered to traipse all the way into the city centre to go to work see a GP.

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 21:35

Nutty - Monkeys were ace, I don't think we saw any lemurs. They had a great tropical rainforest walk through bit where marmosets and such would come right up to you.

Springy - You sent the thank you card because it's always better to mantain the moral highground. Never give her any reason to fault you.

I second what Carameli said about salt baths. This really helped ease and heal the tapestry that was my nether regions.

Why do I still feel like I am wearing a hat. I know I wore it all day but I have been home and hatless since 5pm. Very odd.

mathsmummy27 · 06/03/2009 21:41

Puzzle I find the hat thing strangely hilarious !!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 21:46

you have hat (helmet?) head

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 21:49

Ooh, thanks for the link to reasonably priced polyester undergarments. Can't wait to thrill DH in those after the baby arrives.
It's not often you get to be thrifty, sexy and flammable.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 21:51

BB - lol at sumos i so hope my butt doesnt look that big

PuzzleRocks · 06/03/2009 21:51

It's driving me mad, I keep trying to take of a hat that isn't there. Am I losing the plot?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 06/03/2009 21:54

no, its like if you have your hair in a put up you take the pins out and you feel like its still pinned in lol, try putting your hair in a bobble maybe?

Bloody hell, Frekkles and Ginger, you are being so hard on yourselves. What you are feeling is totally normal, I was often the same way with DD, but it's bollocks. You are not any of those negative things. I swear to you both you will look back and find it hard to believe you ever felt like this.
Hugs to you both.
