I've just found a mountain of After Eight wrappers on the floor. None of which belong to me. I shall now count them & report back

Schulte, deep breaths xx He's not too stupid, he's just doing that man thing of doing it deliberately badly so he gets out of doing it again. Make him correct himself!

Boffin, is she still doing well? It must be making things so much easier.

& frekkles, it will be fine. It's a massive thing, but it will. You're doing what I had to do a few months ago - move in with a relatively new bloke for the sake of being a family after a surprise pregnancy. That's scary! It's normal to feel this way. But your bloke probably isn't mentally ill, so that's a plus Honestly, you'll be fine - & we're all here for any little bumps along the way xx

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 20:55

31 wrappers on the floor. 2 chocolates left in the box. Crikey.

PuzzleRocks · 27/02/2009 20:58

Springy - Touch is far more powerful than smell. Just run your finger over George's little soles and you will feel a bond. Baby feet are like ultrasoft moleskin.

Frekkles - It will be fine. There's bound to be a period of adjustment but it will be ok.

BB - That's exactly how DH looked, LOST! He was great though.

Brettgirl - I have got some grey cotton maternity trousers that fit but they are not very pretty and don't go with any of my shoes.

Boff - If you phone that number they only tell you that they can't send to you and your midwife must call to get forms.

brettgirl2 · 27/02/2009 21:00

OK - thinking about it the MW may have told me that you have to claim before due date. In which case I am probably wrong.

PuzzleRocks · 27/02/2009 21:10

Rachel - Best of luck for Tuesday.

Springy - 31 pah, DH could inhale that many. It makes me sick because he is seriously greedy and there is absolutely no evidence of it on his perfect body.

BoffinMum · 27/02/2009 21:12

What, even for the large print ones?
Can you pretend to be an independent midwife?

BoffinMum · 27/02/2009 21:13

If you are really stuck I can ask one of my GP chums to give us a handful if they have some.

Schulte · 27/02/2009 21:16

If I get really stuck then I'll take this to the nationals... how many women have already missed out on a HiP grant they are legally entitled to because the system isn't working? Grrrrrrrrrrrr

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 21:17

Puzzle, mine's exactly the same. The only reason there are any left is because I saw him pick up the box & made a comment about how they'd all be gone in half an hour. Obviously leaving 2 proves me wrong

& he has such a gorgeous body

BoffinMum · 27/02/2009 21:18

Actually why don't you, Schulte? That is a very reasonable thing to publish and would save women a lot of hassle.

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 21:24

Yay Schultes go on - may be a good PF or FEMAIL story!

My DH has 3 MacDonalds meals in a row, eats crap constantly and wolfs down food like the cows come home (my food bill quadrupled when we moved in together) yet he is perfectly toned and not an inch of fat on him! He even complains that he CANT put weight on!!

Frekkles, I don't know how most of us would have gotten through the past few months if it wasn't for this thread - it has been my saviour!!!!

Schulte · 27/02/2009 21:33

Frekkles, you'll be fine, you'll have a home again and you'll even be a proper family! x

My maternity jeans are falling apart from wearing them all the time through two pregnancies... it will be all dresses and tights from now on, much more comfy anyway.

If MW still doesn't have the forms at my 34 week check up I will indeed take this to the press. Promised. Am on mat leave now so have loads of time!

The dishwasher thing... he says he really doesn't understand it... this man is supposed to have an engineering degree?

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 21:38

BB, I get those moans as well - 'oh boo hoo, poor me, I can't put on any weight '

& Schulte, he obviously just needs lots of practice

Schulte · 27/02/2009 21:42

Now then, for the happy stuff... one of my clients sent me a lovely bunch of flowers yesterday and my colleagues gave me a basket full of little things you need for a newborn (from nappies to nipple cream), plus a fluffy soft toy, it was really sweet. They had even inflated some balloons and put some special girly music on in the boardroom so we could celebrate my leaving... it was so sweet it made me cry... but then I couldn't spend more than 2 minutes with them because we had this massive news announcement to deal with. Oh well, I'll say goodbye properly next week.

Great to see that people are generally starting to wind down, these last few weeks of pregnancy will be very exciting!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/02/2009 21:43

Springy - thats so cool that you can pretty much drink anything!! you would be fab at pub golf!!

Frekkles- it will be fine think of all the lovely family time you can have together and all that you can share now ((hugs))

BB -thanks ((hugs))

Rachel - Good luck!! i, like BB's dh passed on my 9th time dont give up, you will pass

BB & Springy & Puzzle - i hate when my dh says that!!! he's too skinny and sexy for his own good i just give him a dirty look lol

Shulte - men do not understand kitchen appliances, tis beyond them no matter how intellegent/mechanical they are

thanks for all your lovely words x what a journey we've all been on eh?

night night all xx

thebluefoxategreensocks · 27/02/2009 22:10

Thanks for all the good wishes regarding my test next week. I'll just have to try and stay positive, regardless of the results (easier said that done I know! ) I got quite depressed last week after failing at my first attempt - I'm sure pregnancy hormones don't help - lots easier to get emotional & cry! Soooo, I'm going to try and be brave and not feel depressed, even if I get another fail.

Well, dishes all done & downstairs tidied (well, floors cleared up of toys/junk etc - but my kitchen counters are rather over cluttered! Must try to tackle them sometime soon - else there will be no counter space soon.)

Sooo, think I'm off/up to the attic now to see if I can get some boxes out of baby clothes. Having already had a boy & a girl, I have loads of clothes for both...so need to get some small things out and washed so the baby has something to wear when it's born! Still don't have anything ready (apart from large stash of cloth nappies clean & waiting! lol) But baby needs a bit more than nappies to keep warm...at least up here in Scotland! OK, better go hunting through boxes....

BoffinMum · 27/02/2009 22:15

Got bored with TV so going to have a nice bath in my retiled bathroom now. Night night! xx
