DungunGirl, I'm 34 weeks tomorrow & am getting up 4 times a night to wee. It would probably be more, but I'm stubborn & refuse to move until I absolutely have to, even though it means I'm lying there awake for long periods of time.

I keep having BH now, too. Mostly not painful - they only get painful after sex, but it's still totally worth it. But even as I'm sitting here typing now, my bump keeps getting really tight & tingly every couple of minutes. LO's been head down since 28 weeks & has developed a new trick of punching the inside of my pelvis (?!) which is really painful & a very strange sensation indeed. Even more strange than him sticking his bum out just below my boobs & wiggling it around until I prod him back in.

B52s, I had really bad MS (still being regularly sick until 30 weeks, never feeling anything but right on the verge of sickness, even for a second, until 16 or 17 weeks), but count myself very lucky. I've not had to have any special medical attention & haven't had any SPD or anything. Not that I've been comfortable, but when you look at what other people here have had to put up with... & I'm still ready to give myself a CS with a bread knife sometimes

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 13:50

Springy I am also not very scared about the labour, more what I am going to do after it. To be honest I think I am feeling more like your DH, I am worried about not really bonding with the baby and not resenting it but just have no idea what I am going to 'do with it'!

Tristal (just an idea) could you, DP and DS paint it together - kind of like a way of getting ready to be a new family together? Not sure what it would end up looking like but might be nice!

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 13:52

trista, how are you feeling now, by the way?

& haha, I just remembered the first morning I woke up & didn't feel like I was going to vomit within the next 3 or 4 seconds. It'd been about 11 weeks since I'd had even a moment of respite from it & I just lay there scared to move in case I broke it. Eventually I got up & went to the toilet & even though there was background nausea, I could ignore it. Everyone who knew I was pregnant then got a text saying 'GUESS WHAT?' & when they replied I said 'I DON'T FEEL SICK!!!' It only lasted a couple of hours, but it was one of the happiest mornings of my life

Ah, pregnancy... Good times...

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 13:54

oooh Springy your bump sounds just like mine, it is now weird shaped depending on what side LO is lying but can feel a definitely back and bump shape just above my belly button and the little blighter is punching and scratching the hell out of my pelvis! Not weeing too much actually, just once or twice in the night.

Am pretty much 36 weeks now (minus 2 days!) and the MS has returned, along with the BH but for some reason am coping with it all a bit better now than before (God knows why - maybe because work is more sorted!)

PuzzleRocks · 27/02/2009 13:54

Trista - Your bump is gorgeous.

Springy - If you are anything like me you wont want him getting in the way. I needed DH there but I really needed my own space too. And he knew only to speak when spoken to.

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 13:56

I can't wait to not be pregnant, I know some people love it but the whole thing is alien to me!!!

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 13:57

Oh and springy you may be a bit disappointed, there is a whole section where Denny comes back (don't ask) which is pretty cringe-worthy!!

I will stop spoiling it for you now....

PuzzleRocks · 27/02/2009 14:02

Oddeyes - I would be inclined to go with Isobel anyway. It really has bugger all to do with your in-laws. Sorry you are having a crappy day.
I still haven't got my HIP form either. It's a joke.

BabyBolat · 27/02/2009 14:04

Oddeyes sorry completely missed that bit! They have NO RIGHT to veto any name - it is not their child (I would actually call it that out of spite!)

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 14:06

BB, I suppose it's easier to deal with it knowing that it's really nearly finished - there's a definite end in sight. The first time round, it's going on pretty much indefinitely & there's no imminent reward at all! & oh gosh, that sounds awful Although I do love Denny. But yes, stop telling me things! Shhhh!

Puzzle, I imagine I'll be a lot like that. I think I really will just need to get on with it by myself. Although the thought of him just not being there makes me panic a little bit!

tristaleejac · 27/02/2009 14:09

BB, that's a nice idea, one I'll keep in mind. I'm goint to look around a bit for some ideas. I've seen belly casts decorated with mosaic tiles and all sorts of other things, so might be an opportunity for me to get carried away with a new project!

Springy, I'm ok now thanks, just tired still.

And for some reason today and yesterday my cheeks are really red and flushed looking! Is that a pregnancy thing or am I just strange?

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 14:10

I have the cheeks thing as well - I've put it down to the increased volume of blood flying around my body. I'm not sure how accurate that is.

tristaleejac · 27/02/2009 14:11

Oddeyes I agree with everyone, it's your choice what to name your baby. I think it's ridiculous they think they can have an opinion. Please go with your own wishes and to hell with them!

PuzzleRocks · 27/02/2009 14:17

I had my 32 week check up with the GP this morning and baby was head down but, just like DD when she was born, she has her hands up across her face. Boy do I hope she moves them in time.

Springy - I am up every 3 hours to wee. I lay there too until it becomes unbearable.
I can't wait to not be pregnant, it's definitely not my idea of fun.

the names thing is getting a bit tricky for us as dh likes sophie but i don't think it goes with our surname, and i like isla. There are a couple of other names we like as well but i've stopped telling people if they ask because of the rude comments. one friend said she hated i name then apologised and said sorry its your choice. One of my sisters has also expressed her extreme dislike of another choice. So we are just going to name her when she pops out. Although could be even more tricky if she is a he as sonographer was only 80% it was a girl.

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 14:23

Puzzle, how can the GP tell about the positioning of the hands? At our 3D scan, his hand was up by his face & he refused to move it no matter how much the sonographer prodded at him. I'm a bit worried about it & didn't know that there was a way of checking without a scan? Can they tell just by feeling, like they do with the general position?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 27/02/2009 14:24

Oddeyes - can't believe your PILs!!! I have a feeling ours would be the same though - we've specifically told everyone that we haven't decided yet, and want to see her before we name her, and not told anyone our possibilities, for that exact reason... unfortunately I STILL get my aunt calling from Durban demanding to be told! How rude...

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 14:42

Forget pregnancy, why don't our bodies do more exciting things like this?

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 27/02/2009 14:47

Awww that's just not fair Springy... ah well, off to Wales - see you all on Monday! XXX

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 14:48

Have fun! xx

DungunGirl · 27/02/2009 14:54

Springy

Good to know you seem to be experiencing the same. Sometimes you just get caught up feeling sorry for yourself and forget that it is normal!

Yeah...my baby likes sticking his bum out under my right rib/bood and I get this hard rounded shape that I spend most of my time either lightly slapping to get him to move in a bit! Or rubbing because my skin feels sooooo sore and tight.

Ohhh the joys the joys...yeah midwife said same to me at 28 week apppointment that baby was already head down. However the urge to wee throughout the night didn't start getting silly until this week....uurrghhh....

Oh I can't wait for my maternity leave to start. Dealing with this, and the heavy bearing down feeling I get at the end of the day sometimes does not make my 1.5 hour commute home very pleasant!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/02/2009 14:58

BB - at least you get your name in a title claim to fame

Dungun - i have the tightness too, i think the baby is trying to break free alien style.

Springy & trista - i agree totally normal! tbh i'm much more excited about having my legs back and being pain free than the baby right now (i dream of being able to walk upright) but i will love the baby unconditionally when it's here (soon as i lay my eyes on that beautiful lil face same as i did dd) just not loving it right now

Trista -ooooohhhhh mosaic tiles, fab idea!! ooohhhh get some mirrored ones all sparkly and lovely (am vey excited about your project for some reason sorry )

Kitty - have a fab time in wales xx

Springy - now that is something i could totally live with!!!!

Mrsfossil - Do not go on the baby names threads then, they can be quite savage at times.

Springy - She had a thorough poke and squeeze of my belly. Apparently i'm fat a really good size. .

Kitty - Have a fab time.

SpringySunshine · 27/02/2009 15:20

Haha, I've just posted a thread on baby names (at DH's request, oddly). I'm hoping that because I'm not asking for opinions on various names, it shouldn't be too brutal - I'm just asking for suggestions to go with an existing name. They won't be too cruel, will they?

I'll ask the MW to have to good grope around for the errant hand on Tuesday, then. I'll feel a lot calmer if I think that there's a chance that he'll have moved it!

Nutty, did you see that loads of them were saying it was a pregnancy symptom for them?! Our thread's just full of people with SPD - where are the spontaneous orgasms to balance it out?
