Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

There is absolutely no way I would feel my sister's cervix. EEOOOUGH!! Except in a survival situation with only 1% of the world's population surviving if there were no mw present.

mathsmummy27 · 01/03/2009 08:38

Really?! Just me then. I think pregnancy and birth tends to blur the boundaries though, def wouldn't NOW...

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:38

I should develop cervix cam for the squeamish, and go on Dragon's Den with it! It would be worth doing just to see Duncan Ballantyne's face.

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 08:39

Oh I am not freaked out by that at all - wouldn't openly offer it up but if I had to then I probably would.

I think the general way they observed her was odd - when I was in, there were really big spikes on my monitor and I was hooked up for a good 2 hours then immediately checked out as soon as the monitor was off - as the only way they could tell if they were real or not was to check m cervix - poor springy seems to have just been left there!

I think it is very wrong that I am taking my laptop with me while I have a bath in case there is news of springy -

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:44

They sounded completely understaffed to me. When I went in I got onto a monitor after 20 minutes, and they checked the readings regularly, also checked my wee and BP, and then after an hour a doctor came and did an internal. I was home by lunchtime.

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:44

I actually MN on the loo sometimes.

mathsmummy27 · 01/03/2009 08:45

at Duncan Ballantyne's face - I offer myself as the medical model

Agreed that not examining cervix seems strange. Surely the idea is they're either productive contractions or not...

I can't picture the laptop/bath scenario without some hideous domestic accident - I'm sure you have it all worked out though...

mathsmummy27 · 01/03/2009 08:47

MN on the loo - of course. otherwise you might get bored/miss something LIKE THIS!!

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:48

Have you seen the MN classic thread on extended MNetting??

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/534907-extended-mumsnetting

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 08:52

MN the first time I did this I tried to position the laptop on the bath with DEVASTATING consequences (including a very very expensive bill to my bosses to try and get all my data back!) Now, Laptop on loo, me in bath, towel near by for hand drying!

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:52

FGS if Nutty doesn't wake up soon, we will have gone through about 3 more threads.

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:54

I cannot belive you were using your laptop in the bath!!!! You are mad bad and very dangerous.

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 08:54

I woke up 3 times last night and the first thing I thought of was springy so had a quick log on and then back to sleep!!!

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 08:56

I know!! it was perched on the side at the time, although in close proximity to the running tap.... hmmmm!!

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:57

Were you Mnetting? Was it plugged in at the mains??

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 08:58

COOOOOOME OOOONNNNN NUUUUUTTTTYYY! WAAAKE UUUUUP!

Shall I threaten to let MathsMummy loose on Nutty's cervix if she doesn't give us news soon??

mathsmummy27 · 01/03/2009 09:01

Lol she'd probably like it.

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 09:05

No we don't have a plug in the bathroom - no I wasn't actually mning I was watching a DVD! as I wanted a long soak - I am MNING now tho whilst waiting for my face mask to set (while taking very very good care of my laptop!!!) You would think I would learn my lesson

There is the strong possibility Springy is at home curled up in bed with no contractions at all, on the other hand she could be curled up with little George - I WANT TO KNOW!!!

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 09:05

I am saying nothing.

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 09:06

you may be right!!!

BabyBolat · 01/03/2009 09:06

Hee hee!!

BoffinMum · 01/03/2009 09:06

I have also contacted her via FB but I imagine logging on isn't a priority for her right now.

I think it's appalling someone may be giving birth and not be in constant social networking software contact. I mean, this is the 21st century FGS.

mathsmummy27 · 01/03/2009 09:07

I would make a pretty hot nurse..

Yes how frustrating! George could be HERE!!!

NUTTY get up pleeeeeeeeeeeeease
