Oh boy, I hope she gets seen to quickly.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 19:57

Boffin - hooray for you being back!! xx

Once the head comes out they'll help her pretty sharpish!

mathsmummy27 · 28/02/2009 20:05

yes hooray for Boff, glad to see you have retained your dignity/the moral high ground. These people only make themselves look stupid.

Hope Springy is bearing up, it's a weird combination of excitement and panic and then just pointless waiting...

I loved the Midwich Cuckoos but prob won't read in the next few weeks . I am a major Wyndham fan, my favourite is Chocky. I normally hate sci-fis tuff, but it's so intelligently written.

PuzzleRocks · 28/02/2009 20:06

Boff - I see you told her not to have the baby at home. How early is too early to safely have a homebirth?

mathsmummy27 · 28/02/2009 20:06

lol at typos!

BabyBolat · 28/02/2009 20:08

triage???!! Ok maybe my hospital is super good, but we have a dedicated labour ward that you can go straight in to even without calling first even for a twinge!! Tis open 24 hours and you just go along whenever you need it x

mathsmummy27 · 28/02/2009 20:09

Yes BB, I ws just thinking that! Even when I went in a few weeks ago with what was clearly neurocitism, they put me in a labour room and hooked me up straight away, and took me very seriously..

BabyBolat · 28/02/2009 20:09

Just so you know DH has given in on the nookie issue - we will be having sex tonight!!! YAY!

BabyBolat · 28/02/2009 20:10

Now I just need to work on the naming issues....

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:11

37 weeks is considered full term. You could probably get away with 36 weeks at a pinch, but frankly anything before that and you risk the baby having breathing difficulties at birth.

Thanks, MathsMummy. I didn't sound too elitist and stuck in an ivory tower, like they said, did I?

PuzzleRocks · 28/02/2009 20:12

I loved Chocky too. I was 7 when they made it for televison. I was school friends with the son of the graphic designer who worked on the show.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 20:12

BB thats what i thought?? ditto with dedicated lab/mat ward here. Hooray for nookie

At the Rosie they triage you. When I was in mild labour I even had to sit by the hospital entrance for 20 minutes because they only had one mw on so couldn't even get into the fetal monitoring room.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 20:15

where does birth fit into the breathing, bleeding and bones higherarchy i wonder??

OP posts:
mathsmummy27 · 28/02/2009 20:16

Boff - no. Standard shite argument anyway, lacks imagination. I was a champion debater for three years so I know

I am sitting here with a curry and a beer - total heaven!

PuzzleRocks · 28/02/2009 20:16

Thanks Boff.

BB - Am very jealous

I still don't know who won Masterchef so i'm disappearing for a bit. Will check back later.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:17

All bloody three I imagine!

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:18

Thanks MathsMummy. I have a feeling you would have diplomatically told me the truth even if I had sounded like a total intellectual snob, so I am feeling much better now.

Schulte · 28/02/2009 20:20

Just picturing poor Springy standing in a queue with lots of other mums in early labour... well done people for making her go in!

Boff, don't be angry, if you allow those idiots to make you angry you're giving them a power over you that they don't deserve.

Can you all keep your fingers crossed for us please... DD woke up with a croupy type cough this morning and although she seemed okay all day I am feeling really nervous about tonight.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 20:21

Mathsmummy How did your last gig go btw?

Puzzle - you is one connected lady!!

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:21

Is anyone here a Philip K Dick sci fi fan? I really admire his work.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 20:22

Schulte - fingers and toes crossed for you and your poor dd xx

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:23

Thanks Schulte,

I was a bit hurt rather than angry, because I really do know a lot about this stuff. But there you go.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 20:24

Schulte, has your DD had croup before?
