SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:24

They're lasting about 90 secondsish each, every 2 - 3 minutes.

I really want to get excited about it, but I know that they're going to stop as soon as I start taking them seriously.

SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:25

Ooh, Sainsbury's cafe! The romance! You lucky lady

mathsmummy27 · 28/02/2009 18:28

Thanks for messages all - Springy ! I'm excited. How are you?

BarbarellaNz · 28/02/2009 18:29

Am off to watch second half of England/Ireland rugby game but will check back - hang in there, Springy

SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:31

I'm okay. They're still regular & getting longer as a general pattern. They do hurt a fair bit, but I'm not mooing or anything like that. I just have to breathe a bit steadier & jiggle myself around a bit until the pain passes.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 18:32

Bicnod - sorry about your grandma ((hugs))

ooooh ok springy wil give you a text tickle now

Where has BB gone? Not only am I worried that she's on her way to give me a good slap I want to know how her BH have been. COME BACK, BB!

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 18:36

Lurking. Glad I did.

Springy, have you had any other signs? Eg show, waters? Cervix changing?

Do they take your breath away at any point?

Do you feel like you are going into another place when they are happening?

It's possible to have quite dramatic BH without going into labour.

I don't think there are other signs, Boffin. I don't know how to check my cervix, but there doesn't seem to be a show or waters - but every woman in my family has to have her waters broken for her, so that doesn't mean anything on its own.

They do take my breath away every so often - perhaps one in every three. The rest make me have to concentrate & I can't really carry on typing through them, but the pain doesn't last very long - perhaps 20 or 30 seconds, out of the 90ish that my bump's all hard & strange.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 18:39

Actually the jiggling is not a good sign IMO. Pack a bag just in case.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 18:40

Yay Boffin!!! i knew you would lurk xxxxxxxx

BabyBolat · 28/02/2009 18:40

If there was enough petrol in my car I might come up there and stitch up your cervix!!!

BH died down a lot today but have been very relaxed and now nookie!

My BH feel like that split second before your period starts where all you want to do is curl up in a ball with a hot water bottle, they last about 2 minutes but have never been increasingly regular every hour or more but not every 5 minutes etc. They don't tend to take my breath away but I do have to stop what I am doing and allow them to pass....

BabyBolat · 28/02/2009 18:41

Springy, I think you should call your midwife...

SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:41

My bag's already pretty much packed, but I don't actually have everything for it yet. I have most stuff & what I do have is in the bag

I don't want to call the hospital, because I know they'll call me in with these timings, but that by the time I get there they'll almost certainly have stopped & I'll just look very stupid.

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 18:43

OK
This has been building up all day, right? Recommend you have a light dinner now and quickly go to hospital and get checked out to be on the safe side. If this is early labour, you will need a steroid injection for the baby's lungs. Take a slumber mask and ear plugs for hospital, as they may well keep you in overnight, and things might calm back down and you'll be glad of a bit of kip. If not, you'll be in the right place.

SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:43

Ohhh, I was hoping I was having the same as BB This is getting a bit weird, then.

DH is very unconcerned & relaxed - I don't think he understands how close it is to him having to get dressed & drive me to the hospital at this rate

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 18:45

Springy - do you really want the possibility of your dh delivering this baby if its the real thing is the question you need to ask yourself

((hugs everyone in over excitement)))

Those are things that I do have in my bag - I do love my sleep

Boffin, if this is 'it', what state would the baby be in by now (34 weeks today)? I know he'd be okay, but it's still 3 weeks until full term, & I know that the triplets will need to be in the SCBU for a while... What's the situation at this point, do you think?

SpringySunshine · 28/02/2009 18:47

Haha, the look on his face if he had to do that would almost be worth it

BoffinMum · 28/02/2009 18:47

I'd be going in with these contractions and I am a fourth timer who hates hospitals. I bet the others agree with me.

If it's any help, I know when I am in labour because I have to wiggle my toes to distract myself from the pain in first stage - I still managed to cook a business lunch for xp once while doing this though. But there comes a point where they're 2 minutes duration and 2 minutes apart and you're on all fours thinking 'O bugger, this is it' and normal life has to stop. If this happens to you, just call an ambulance because it's serious.

And damn you Springy with your contractions. I have broken my vow not to post!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 28/02/2009 18:49

BB - enjoy the nookie glad BH's are better today ((hugs))
