Ohhh I am so far behind just can?t catch up will have to admit defeat!

Dreamy ? have you considered one of those buggy attachment things that attaches one buggy to another? Just thought that might solve your treble buggy issue.

Tee ? lucky you giving a very active baby my son was a quiet one and this baby is pretty much the same although I am feeling her more and more which is reassuring. Lovely blog entry, I totally agree with all that you said and I too can?t help wondering if things could have been different for poor Anna had the drs taken more notice. I appreciate that there are still limitations in modern medicine but just can?t help wishing that they?d taken her in sooner..

Thanks Naat they were running 45 mins late at the health centre so DS got very bored but he was a brave boy and forgot about this jag soon after no sign of Mr Midwife thankfully!

Hey Lauraloo ? paypal issue is now sorted but I had to use a different card sounds like you are working yourself to the bone, cut back lady!

Ineed ? sounds like the nesting instinct is kicking in with you I swept, mopped and cleared our patio on Sunday feel much happier about it now

Daisy ? I?m ok, not low really but thanks for caring, hope you are ok and that DP has apologised. Liked the link x

Littlesarah ? great news on DH passing his driving test

Doris ? hope the GTT went well, I have mine tomorrow.

Welcome back muminmiddleeast people look at me horrified when I say I still have 12 weeks to go, clearly they think I look fit to pop now I?m in Spain by the way.

Choccie ? glad you had a good time with your sis sorry your DH is working so hard

Hello Tibsy, Ermintrude, June, Loouise, Bunnymother, Bigcar, lyynn and anyone I have missed

Must get some sleep tomorrow is appointment after appointment?.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 12/03/2009 08:03

Oooo my friend Joe was on Grand Designs last night, it was so exciting! I was just re-watching the bit with him on with DS and he's running around shouting 'it's Joe, it's Joe'.... he can't understand how he's on the TV... oh to be that innocent again!

Took DS to the allergy clinic at the hospital yesterday and it transpires that he is allergic to fish and shellfish. At least we know now. They aren't prescribing an epipen at the mo, but has to have anti-histamine when at restaurants in case of fish oil contamination....

I'm the same with Comic Relief, I'm in floods. I'm a bit teary whenever those clips come on anyway, let alone when the hormones are raging!

Went to 'Dunk your Bumps' last night. New woman running it now, who's obviously never been pregnant. Her fist line was 'I don't believe in taking it easy, you're only pregnant'

Sorry this is a 'me' post. I hope people are feeling okay. I'll catch up properly now....

tibsy · 12/03/2009 08:25

Happy birthday lauraloo hope you have a lovely day and your dh for tomorrow my dp's bday is the day before mine (not til sept tho) its nice to 'almost share' a bday isnt it?

hi mrsmc hope your busy day goes well

ineed bless your ds, what a sweetie. hope the allergy doesnt cause too much of a problem for him

littlesarah that made me feel a bit weepy myself. what a sweetie!!

good morning and a big hello to all you other lovely ladies

tibsy · 12/03/2009 08:27

ineed meant to say , at your swim instructor. what a plonker....

Tee2072 · 12/03/2009 08:38

Morning all.

Well the heartburn has kicked in. Why it has to kick in at 1am I don't know...

ineed I hope all the women in the class gave her this look. I would have given her that look and then left the class!

Happy Birthday laura!! I hope its a good one.

Does anyone else notice that one day their baby will be really active and the next day not so much? I mean I still feel it move a lot, but yesterday it was doing gymnastics and playing footy and today its just sort of poking me! I think it wears itself out!

OP posts:
Naat · 12/03/2009 08:59

Happy birthday, Lauraloo!!!!
Hope you have a great day!!

Hi all!

MrsMc Good luck on your busy day, hope it all goes well and smoothly.

Ineed Glad now they know what causes the allergy, that's good news. at your DS's comments about your friend on TV haha
And at your swimming instructor's comment! Clearly, she's never been pg, and if she has, then she has amnesia!

Tee, hope you're feeling a bit better today. And yes, the same happens to me, one day it's disco dancing and the next day it's more like ballet

LittleSarah · 12/03/2009 09:21

Ineed - Some women are just mental. Don't believe in taking it easy indeed...

Happy birthday Laura! tibsy - he was lovely... [wells up remembering] I have to transcribe interview now so hopefully I'll stay calm!

Hope everyone is well!

insywinsyspider · 12/03/2009 09:38

naat - I'm sure that with loads of planning for move you'll be fine, are you staying in same area? do you have loads of friends you an call on to do moving and lifting? have a painting party and get them to put all furniture up too, what a pain about letting ag, not sure I'd been too impressed with people turning up without any notice but then my house is a diaster zone most of the time, its only vaguely tidy at mo because I'm at work and boys at nursery

sweetbroody - it is so hard about the will thing, spoke to dh about it last night as you guys made me realise we really should put something in writting, dh said we should stick with asking my bro because if the worst does happen then everyones plans change and whilst he's clearly not going to have his own kids v soon he'll be great for them long term - we would be asking him to be a single parent tho to 3 kids... not sure about that, luckerly he live v close to my parents so I guess they could all muck in together...

littlesarah - another one who gets all weepy at random stuff, worst is anything sad on telly bout kids so I too will be avoiding comic relief! I used to be so together but with each pg have def got worse!

Ineedmorechoc - good news about ds, at least you know what problem is now, has it taken ages to sort? I heard allergy stuff takes a while to be diagnosed

and you and mrsmj need to throw some of that nesting instinct my way, so many diy jobs to do before baby gets here

tibsy · 12/03/2009 09:55

insy i'm with you, we've got loads to do before this one arrives. not least finishing off our cellar so ds can move into it before the bubba comes 13 1/2 wks and counting, yikes!!!!

hi naat and tee heartburn, yuck, have been very lucky and escaped (so far) with all 3 pgs. hope you find something that works soon.

sweet dp and i made a will last year and felt very relieved for having done it. i must say, the decision of who would have guardianship was the one that took the longest, and am not wanting to be a negative nora, but i'm not sure we got it completely right, but options were rather limited. take your time and good luck

littlesarah will look forward to reading it

Naat · 12/03/2009 10:50

Insy yes, we're going to plan everything with plenty of time (we've already started ). We're staying in the area but cannot start looking for anything as it's still too early and letting agencies will tell me to come back later hahaha. That happened to us last year when we started looking in March and April and we were moving in June. We have a couple of friends who can help us for sure with the move, so that helps a lot.

You girls got me thinking yesterday about the will thing... I forgot to mention it to DH yesterday so I'll do it today. We're so far away from home that choosing potential guardians (and godparents) is an issue .

As littleSarah said, our siblings are too immature (even though they're not that young haha) so they are out. Parents, even though mine are quite young (52) they live in Ecuador and I wouldn't want our children to be brought up there (it's a very complicated society, too long to tell you). MIL is a nightmare/hell on earth and FIL is not that young. Soooo... we have a lot to think about before making a decision.

Hope you are all having a good day, ladies.

bigcar · 12/03/2009 10:55

Morning all

To all those with a hectic day ahead, hope all goes well!

Doris, hope yesterday went ok

Sweetbroody, I guess for us, once the kids are in bed, it's the only time we get to have a bit of time doing the things we want to do, if he's on the playstation, I can be mning and eating as much chocolate as I like without feeling guilty (it doesn't count calorie wise if noones looking!) or I can go upstairs and watch whatever crap I want on tv etc. Dh does go through phases where it seems all the time but then he won't touch it again for a few weeks so I suppose we end up with a bit of a balance. Dh changed jobs last summer which has made a huge difference as he rarely works weekends now so we make sure we have family time then. I can understand your frustration though if your dh is working silly hours

Ineed, I think if someone said to me at the moment, you're only pregnant, I would seriously consider taking a swing at them Top of list of things not to say to a hormonal pregnant woman, you're only pregnant...... it's like saying to a man, it's only a car! I hope your ds doesn't find his allergy too much of a problem, hopefully the antihistamines will stop any severe reaction.

Insy, dd1 was 8lb 2, dd2 was 8lb 15, ds was 8lb 10, dd3 was 9lb 9. So dc3 was smaller than dc2 if that's any help dd3 was also later than the others which may account for some of the jump in size. Dd2 and ds were both 11 days late.

Littlesarah, Michael Morpurgo sounds a real sweetie, makes a change to hear nice things about slebs!

June2009 · 12/03/2009 11:26

Just popping by to say hello.. [waves]

tee: Heartburn here too. everything and anything I eat, no matter how little

MrsMcJnr good luck with your busy day.

Daisy hope Gtt went well and you didn't get nauseous.

Daisy You ok?

laura Happy Birthday!

muminmiddleeast Hi & welcome back! Where abouts are you?

On the subject of in-laws: Aargh!
Latest one from mil: she has "put a curse" on fil.

[deletes loong rant about sil and bil taking it in turns to eat round ours every night].

I do like the fact that we see them more often and they're comfortable with us. I wouldn't want them to think they couldn't come to us if they had a problem. But they do need to grow up, they're spoilt and their attitude is infuriating at times.

At their age (25 and 28) dh and I were much mroe mature and responsible, already been together for 5/7 years, started and running our own business, engaged and living together.

EEK I sound like my dad now, I'll stop now and get back to work ;)

Mw appt this pm for ~28w blood tests, I have a long list of questions for her.

ermintrude13 · 12/03/2009 12:07

June can't believe your SIL and BIL keep coming around. Sounds like DH may need to suggest a once a week visit and the rest of the time they can cook their own bloomin' tea!

Hope the appt goes well. My 28 wk is on 30th and I need to get a list started now...

Tibsy if you really are reconsidering the guardianship issue, you can change it at any time. Circumstances change, or your views about what your DC need can change, so don't feel obliged to stick to something you're not happy with just to avoid upsetting people. If someone got offended at not being a guardian any more, what could they say? - Right, so you're not letting me look after your kids if you and DH both die, that's outrageous, I shall never talk to you again'. Actually, I bet some people would say that. In which case, you're well rid

tibsy · 12/03/2009 12:31

ermin thankyou for that. thats actually very reassuring to me. i suppose i never thought to question whether you could change your mind afterwards.

june that does sound like rather excessive dining at yours on il's part. think once a week would be enough for me... good luck with your MW appt

naat re the will thing, yes, it is a worry, and youve got extra issues i guess re geographical distance, but i hope it doesnt stress you too much lovely, you've got loads on your plate already with moving and stuff

bigcar dp's mum (lets just call her mil!) asked me if i was sure i wasnt expecting twins? the other night, which i thought was a bit insensitive as this will be our 3rd!! you've given me hope that it wont neccesarily be a big un

hope all you other ladies are having good days

appletiser · 12/03/2009 12:42

Hi everyone - mind if i join u... didn't realise this thread existed till now.. i am due 22nd june with 1st baby...

Tee2072 · 12/03/2009 12:48

Hi appletiser glad to have you! Somewhere around here there is a list of all of us, feel free to copy and paste and add yourself in!

OP posts:
Ineedmorechocolatenow · 12/03/2009 13:09

Hi there appletiser

I've got my 28 week appointment with the MW this afternoon too June. Last saw her at 16 weeks so she'll see a big difference! Got to take DS with me, so that should be interesting! I've also got loads of questions for the her.... I hope she's prepared to be inundated!

June can't believe your ILs take the piss so much and come round for free food all the time. The bloody cheek!

As for the stupid instructor who said 'you're only pregnant' , I did give her the 'skunk eye'! She did a really vigorous routine. I was a bit surprised as there was loads of stuff that people with SPD shouldn't be doing. Now, having had it chronically twice, I know what I should and shouldn't be doing. The trouble is, there will have been people there with a milder version that may not have seen a physio and carried on doing all those exercises. I made a point of telling her at the beginning so she was aware, but I don't think she knew what it was. If I could be bothered, I'd write a letter to the manager.....

Naat · 12/03/2009 13:31

Welcome, appletiser! June and Ineed, good luck with your MW appt Flood them with questions . I have mine in two wks, so I'd better get on with the list of questions haha. And June, I agree with ermin, maybe DH should let it slip that you could do it just twice a week?

Tibsy, yes, don't worry, I won't let it stress me... at your MIL's comment! What did you tell her? Did you just put on a poker face and fume on the inside (as we all have to do from time to time)?

Daisy How was the GTT yesterday? I hope everything went smoothly

chocciedooby · 12/03/2009 14:38

Happy Birthday Lauraloo. Hope you do something nice to celebrate.
It's my birthday on Saturday and DH anbd I (who haven't spent any time together in the past 3 weeks) are going out for a swanky lunch. Babysitter is coming in at 12.30pm til about 5pm Can't wait!

Sorry that I keep posting "me" posts. Still struggle to keep up and not feeling great. Had awful ngihts sleep last night. Conjunctivitis is in both eyes so kept sticking together etc.Horrid. Anyway they seem to be a bit better this afternoon and all I have been doing is bathing them in salt water.
Had physio appt. this morning. She was great. Lovely girl from Lacashire so it was lovely to meet anotherEnglish person that had been living over her in Ireland for may years. Anyway, she has given me a pelvic girlde belt to wear. It's taking some time to get used to but I will try anything. Have ob appt in the monring so going to try and find out what all this lower region swelling and shooting pains in the abdomen is all about.

Hope everyone is well.

June you need your rest and PIL should be looking after and feeing you, not the other way around.

appletiser · 12/03/2009 16:12

Thnks
had my 24wk appt with mw today - id been having this pain in my ribs.. had been worried it was my gallbladder plying up but thankfull she put my mind at ease - saying it was "ribflare" anyone else had this? it seems to be getting more frequent..

bunnymother · 12/03/2009 17:27

Hello lovely ladies! [waves]

This is just a v quick post from me to say hello! Hope you have all had a nice day.

Laura - happy birthday!!

appletiser - hello and welcome!

choccie - sorry to hear about your poor eyes, hopefully they clear up soon.

Tee - heartburn is the pits, but 1am is a bit much! Poor you.

June - am also at the nightly stop bys from in-laws. That would piss me off, as would that instructor! Cow.

naat - we also have to sort out a will, but think it will need to be valid in Australia (where we are from), so fun and games for me sorting that out. Ditto a decent life insurance policy. DH and I decided that we want me gorgeous sister to look after our little bundle if anything happens to us. Had many nasty chuckles good natured giggles working our way through the alternatives... Good luck!

Have to run and do my chores, which I loathe. Half my kingdom for a housework fairy who cleans....

chocciedooby · 12/03/2009 17:28

HI Appletiser. Sorry to hear about your Ribflare. Never had that myself. Hope it doesn't give you too much trouble.

I just looked back over my previous post and was mortified by the amount of typos . Always in a rush you see

ermintrude13 · 12/03/2009 17:52

Welcome Appletiser. Rib flare sounds like a cut of beef! There's a thread about it on here somewhere which might suggest ways of easing it - sounds like quite a few women suffer from it. Hope you get some relief from it soon.

Choccie hope your Ob appt goes well tomorrow - and I'm all ears about the prolapse issue, which I'm going to bring up with my MW. Hoping for your sake it's something much simpler.

bunnymother it's amazing how some of your nearest and dearest suddenly turn into cariacatures of anything from hopeless incompetents to evil witches when you consider them in the role of bringing up your DC, isn't it? . Glad you've got a lovely sister to rely on though hope you never have to...

June2009 · 12/03/2009 18:14

Welcome Appletiser and good luck keeping up with the thread, it's moving fast ;)

I just got back from my appt with mw and she didn't take any blood on account of my GTT test being next Thursday, they can do everything in one go she said. Good, I don't like blood tests.

For some reason I also could not pee!! (What is wrong with me?? I need the loo every 10 minutes at the moment, I was there for over half an hour and could only produce 2 drops???).

I got my "health in pregnancy" form for the free £190

I asked her about the 10 kicks per day and she said that's really for when you're 36 weeks and over as the baby has less space to move and tends to go a bit quieter, count the kicks then.

Tee babyjune is also frantic one day, quiet the next.

I'm not getting any other scans on the nhs which is a bit disappointing
We'll book a 4D scan soon though, that should make up for it.

I asked her about the fibroid in my uterus and she said it may cause extra bleeding after birth but there is an injection available to help with that.
She also very quickly mentionned something about having to deliver my placenta themselves as opposed to naturally. She didn't want to go into details, "too much to take in at this stage" ... (sounds gross and traumatic).
Fine by me, it doesn't sound good, therefore I don't really want to know. It's in my "ignore" file until needed, together with the soft marker and potential tearing.

SO, (and sorry for tmi) has anyone here had their placenta delivered otherwise than "naturally" and want to re-assure me about it?

I ought to get ready for our ante-natal class tonight, quite looking forward to it.

tibsy · 12/03/2009 18:22

naat yep, the old poker face, despite thinking, well i still weigh less than you (oooohhhh, meow)

welcome appletiser hope everything going well apart from the ribflare?

daisy hope everything ok with you?

ineed hope your appt went well too i took dd the other day, she tried to slip the doppler machine in her little bag on the way out

choccie your bday lunch with dh on sat sounds wonderful. enjoy, enjoy, enjoy

bunny hee hee at your giggles at the alternatives to your lovely sis. think thats the approach we need to take!

tee good luck with the gp tomorrow

think this will probably be a goodnight from me, am debating whether i need some extra vitamins or something as am feeling so bloody tired all the time, despite having ridiculously early nights for most of the time. its really starting to get me down forgot to ask the MW the other day and next appt not until week on mon....
