Baby sizes..........

7lb 14oz and 8lb2oz

was a relief as DP was 10lb8oz - he's one of five and all of them were over 10lbs.

I've heard you are more likely to take after what your mother delivered than partner's weight but have no idea if that's true.

Report
Claireykitten · 17/02/2009 19:50

Mumble - I have heard that as well. I was hoping it was true with DS as DH and his siblings were all 10lb+. I on the other hand was 5lb some. DS was 8lb 11.5oz so I dont quite know what to think I just hope that this one is smaller.

Hi everyone,

just wanted to updat eyou on my friend. she and baby are doing ok. He's in neo-natal. Has a tube and formula (which he keeps bringing back up). He's too sleepy to latch on the boob. I think that must be hard for her as she's a BF peer supporter like me. but they are taking things one moment at a time.

talked to my parents today who went away for the weekend without telling me. I gave them a talking to about 'what ifs' and just to hit the point home told them about my friend. they were suitably apologetic

anyway, i've done too much today and i'm going to go relax in front of neighbourssome crap tv!

night all!
xx

Ooooooooooooh Boffin - just catching up on your nappy thread. I'm amazed! I wasn't avoiding you btw, but putting DD to bed. Will post on there now.

Schulte · 17/02/2009 20:09

Ha ha

Just put DD to bed, came downstairs to sit on the sofa with my laptop, then heard her shuffle about upstairs and put her musical toy back on (one of those soft toy things that plays lullabies when you pull a string - don't know if you can even get them in the UK and what the correct translation is). Anyway it hangs off the wardrobe handle on the other side of the room so she shuffled all the way there and back to her bed in her sleeping bag. How funny.

Catching up now...

Yes, it's taken off just as well as my willy one did.

Shall I start an anti-recycling because it will only end up in landfill anyway in the credit crunch thread?? Or would that be tempting fate??

BoffinMum · 17/02/2009 20:11

That is so sweet, Schulte.
My kids have those - I don't know what you call them, either.

Oh I love toddlers shuffling about in grobags. So cute.

Boff you are having enormous thread success at the mo. I think you should take a bow.

I really am smuggling an alien under my top this evening. I think the bump is practising karate moves or something. V. surreal. Seems a bit unfair cos DD went to bed so very easily this evening and I was looking forward to curling up and chilling out.

Am I destined to have babies who work in tandem to keep me awake?

Boff you are so funny!! Sod the landfill LOL!

Mumble everything is crossed (although mainly because my BH's are back and the pain is a lot less if I cross my legs together and curl up tight )

Hope that is true re sizes, my mum was all 7-8lbs, DH's were all over 10!

We have an elephant that you pull it's tail and it sings twinkle twinkle but not a whole range of nursery rhymes - oooh I want one!!!

Purple great about your friend, hopefully once LO is a bit stronger he will latch on and she can BF like a gooden!

Springy, Dh would so do that - online monopoly??? WHere??? I love monopoly - tis my favourite game but no one will play with me as it takes to long and I get a little competitive!!

The thread is making me laugh! People get so het up about everything! Some of them are so angry it is almost laughable at what they post!! OOOH I love our little thread!!!

I am really enjoying telling those school prefect types where to stick their eco-ness.

SpringySunshine · 17/02/2009 20:42

Boff, you risked it with that thread! Am impressed at the number of people who came out of the woodwork, though. You are clearly the voice of the voiceless, or whatever

BB, Monopoly is my favourite game too! You can play it here. I think you need to sign up, but it's free & doesn't take very long - & you can even play by yourself because it fills up the game with computer players. (Everyone else can stop laughing - I barely leave my flat, shut up )

Three cheers for Springy on getting the last post.

We've got a few musical soft-toys. My favourite one is oogle&keyword=Mamas+%26amp%3B+Papas+MUSICAL+PETALS+FLEUR+THE+FLOWER this, which ties to the side of DDs cot .

I'm still looking for some sort of bed-time toy which plays Beethoven's Fur Elise because that was what I had in my music box to send me to sleep every night when I was little.

I recently found quite a good book & CD of lullabies (the illustrations are brilliant!) but DD doesn't settle when I play it - she sits up and wants to sing along instead!
