The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Neddie · 18/02/2009 09:56

Ante-natal ok. BP 100/60 and BMI 22. I was dreading the weight thing but it turns out I am only 9 1/2 stone so I've put on 9lb in 9 weeks (some of which is Christmas I think, not twins!). If I expand at this rate to week 36 (which is probably when I'll have the caesarian)I will put on another 25lb. I put on 4 stone with my first one and 3 1/2 for my second one so I might have my calculations wrong.Couldn't hear heartbeats yet but that's normal at this stage. They had them at 6 weeks.Looks like I will have no problems having a caesarian due to the shoulder dist. with my last two.[Grin] I have severe depression at the moment and like everyone else i am feeling like a sickly slug. If you are feeling yuck do try tomato soup it seems to make me feel much better.

kookykid · 18/02/2009 11:21

Just a quick one...

Such a relief - scan went well. Sonographer very casually said, "And there's the heartbeat!" and I nearly burst into tears!

Thusnelda · 18/02/2009 11:22

newbie36, my scan is on the 11th too! Only three weeks away now.
And I've also been dreaming of Big Macs and the like lately but have been ably to resist - so far.

lemonmoon, you're right, I also want to make the most of the time we've left on our own, I'm kind of banking on feeling much more energetic in a months time and maybe drag him away on holiday! We've only been together for just over a year now, and if it wasn't for our terribly advanced ages (37 & 42), I might have liked to wait another year or so.

bratnav, congratulations! Hope you'll be feeling blooming by then!

Neddie, hope you'll be feeling less depressed soon - keep eating that tomato soup! It's the chicken soup that does it for me. In fact, I think I'll heat up a bowl now.

Good luck for everybody's scans!

Thusnelda · 18/02/2009 11:23

Ah, kookykid, great news.

bratnav · 18/02/2009 12:36

great news kookykid

newbie36 · 18/02/2009 12:44

Thusnelda, think we're in v.similar situations! Am 37 in March, my DP is 38 and we've only been together for 18 months. Would have loved some more time just by ourselves, but at the same time the baby after the age of 35 thing was getting to both of us and we didn't want to run out of time. Well done on resisting the Big Mac thing by the way! It was my first McDonalds for about 5 years and I guiltily enjoyed every second of it!

Will give the chicken and tomato soup ideas a go over the next couple of days (can't believe I'm still going on about food......!!) My recommendation of the week has to be for Rice Krispies. Marvellous.

audreyraines · 18/02/2009 13:19

ricecrispies sounds good! nothing seems that appetising at present and sometimes i can't even keep water down. i just eat fruit and toast mainly and sometimes pan fried halloumi

i really can't wait to stop this whole sickly thing. i just had to run to the toilet while reading ds his pre naptime books. i'm 11 +1 and counting ....

audreyraines · 18/02/2009 13:20

I'm also glad other people are doing the mcdonalds thing, i seriously dream about the stuff but probably haven't eaten it in 10 years!

Thusnelda · 18/02/2009 13:32

Hmmm, fruit and toast and pan fried halloumi.. sounds nice. Sort of.
Hope it gets better for you soon, Audreyraines.

Newbie, it looks like we are at least three over-35-first-timers on this thread - downright a miracle if you believe the statistics!
I like to think that we are doing our bit to reduce world overpopluation - at this rate we only fit three generations in one century, not 4 or 5 or potentially 7 as in young Alfie's case! (My maternal grandmother would be exactly 100 now, my paternal one is 94 - and going strong. She'll hopefully see great grandchild no. 9 this autumn!)

mummyhill · 18/02/2009 14:37

Please stop talking about McDonalds your making me drool!

bratnav · 18/02/2009 14:57

All I can think about is KFC We very very rarely eat junk, but I sent DP out at 10pm over the weekend to buy my a large KFC meal

bigbang · 18/02/2009 15:39

Ah I had this with ds! I hate mcdonalds with a passion, but I craved it for months, only gave in the once though. All I want to eat this time is those spinach and ricotta stuffed pasta things. I have eaten far too many so far, dp thinks I have gone a bit mad.

Glad the recent scans and appointments have gone well, and bratnav how exciting! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Opps

Snowfalls108 · 18/02/2009 15:57

Not got the fast food cravings yet - sure they will kick in though.

Anyone else feeling like a pin cushion - I've had tons of blood tests so far. Had a load more this morning, and now they've rung me and asked me to come in tomorrow for some more! Everything so far has come back perfect so not sure why!

I am on the high risk list because I have Lupus and because of that I've been scheduled in for lots of extra scans - yipeee! I get one at 12, 14, 20, 28, 32, and 36 weeks - I'm going to have hundreds of pictures of my bean. Touch wood all goes according to plan.

I'm taking a small dose of Asprin each day to help stop my blood being sticky - does anyone have any experience of this?

BratNav - I'm very impressed you're planning a wedding as well as being pregnant - where do you get the energy from!

bratnav · 18/02/2009 16:36

TBH snowfalls, I'm only working 1 day a week at the moment, and the other DCs are all at school, so I have loads of time. Very small wedding, only 20 of us so not too much to do

mummyhill · 18/02/2009 17:16

Hands up another pin cushion. I had thyroid function done 3 weeks ago it came back under corrected so they adjusted it and I had to have it re done yesterday. Will have my booking bloods done on the 4th March when I go to the hospital for my dating scan. Will probably have thyroid checked at least once a month between now and when bubs is about 6 months. Have to remember to remind them to put that mother is on thyroxine and dosage when they do the heel prick test cause it can affect the results! DD had to be tested for 2 years as there was an anomaly where as ds was fine!

lemonmoon · 18/02/2009 17:50

Great news kookykid and Neddie!

omg I may have to get myself up the road and get a KFC. Zinger Tower if possible. I haven't eaten that, or MacD's for years and years but if you lot won't stop talking about it...

Actually that spinach and ricotta pasta sounds great as well. Maybe I'm just hungry. Yet again.

I'm one of the older first-timers too - will be 37 in June. (DH is 3 years younger than me.) We've been together 11 years though - just never quite got round to this bit.

snowfalls my friend's sister in law is nearing her due date and she has lupus too - so far everything has been tickety boo, and yes, she had oodles of scans. They didn't want to know the sex but they've seen it so many times now they reckon it's a girl!

peachygirl · 18/02/2009 19:09

hello everyone, God to hear the scans are going well I got my booking in appointment today on the 4th March so I reckon my scan will be around the same time as yours newbie. I think with DD it was in week 13.

Thusnelda I'm 35 too, so in the older catagory.
I did tell one of my antenatal friends today, she has two already (17 month gap) She nearly exploded with excitement!

I've been eating lots of cheese on toast. I realy want a soft boiled egg but I know thats a no no.

BTW I'm partial to a McDonalds myself

TheTickListQueen · 18/02/2009 20:12

I'm amused by everyone's fastfood cravings. With DS all I wanted was a Big Mac. Gave in once and it wasn't half as nice as I'd dreamed. This time its KFC and the only reason I haven't had it yet is there isn't one nearby. Hopefully when I get there it lives up to expectations!

bigbang · 18/02/2009 21:08

I had a soft poached egg on saturday! I am also drinking a glass of wine now. Only one mind, and its lasted me an hour so far. Maybe I am foolish but what can I say, I have done my research and am happy enough to eat them!

bigbang · 18/02/2009 21:16

Every now and then that is

Snowfalls108 · 18/02/2009 21:21

Thanks lemonmoon, that's good to hear.really fancied a kinder beauno just now, headed out to find one, failed miserably and nothing else will do!

Bexaa - you're not bad!! One KFC or McDonalds a week isn't terrible at all. I do think it's weird though how it seems there's a lot of us dreaming about the McDs and KFC stuff though! I wonder if it's the salt or something? Sorry to hear about the palpitations though Bexaa, hope that sorts itself out soon.

Either way, the nausea for me is still hanging around, and I ended up going to bed, yet again, last night by about 8pm. When will this phase pass?! Plus having strange thoughts about the scan - half excited and the other scared for what they might find. I guess there's no point in worrying myself silly, it's still a while off - and having re-read some of the messages on here, it looks like we all feel the same about our first scan.
