The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:

paranoid mummy!!! huge congrats - and a lovely litte girl to top it off

erhianji - we found out the sex with ds and i have to say it definately helped me to bond and when he was born it felt like we knew him already as he had his name from 16 weeks (when we found out) i plan to do exactly the same this time round although the name might be an issue as we cant agree!

ladylush · 13/03/2009 18:58

Finding out the sex defo helped us to bond with ds

spats · 13/03/2009 19:38

wow what a load of gossip in last day. a boy and girl ahh. is anyone else finding out. DH wants to by i am not sure. Didn't with other 2 and like the surprise at end. Besides as we have 2 DS everyone has said it would be ncie to have a girl, even though i do like the thought of 3 girls. I am worried if we find out at 20 weeks people will be disappointed and i still have to carry the baby for another 20 weeks knowing people really wanted a girl!! I think the last few days i have just popped out. Last night was the first night didn't wake up for the loo, maybe a one off, hope not. And my bump is clearly there. Thought i would get away with not telling work for another month but now not so sure. Only so long baggy tops will hide bump.

THe anti D debate:- i work in a blood transfusion lab where we adminster it and it is a human blood produt so i am not too happy having it, although i guess it is checked but you never know what dodgy diseases may emerge from the blood few years down the line. THe baby and mums bloodstream are seprate so there shouldn't be an oppurtunity for antibodies to be made unless you have a trauma or something. Then i would have it and of course at delivery if baby is pos. But if your partner is neg you wouldn't need it. Some hospitals don't offer prophylactic anti D so that shows that it is not deemed necessary, but all will give in case of trauma. Anyway enough of my work!!! i am going to try and find some mat trousers online, they are so expensive. apparently new look have some so will try there. x

FairySparkles · 13/03/2009 19:46

Hi everyone, had my scan today at last!! Little bean was waving away bless its cottons! Sonographer put me forward 3days so officially due 22nd now - happy days! Such a relief to see just one in there - I'm massive and was convinced I was having twins! That said, a young couple (19) went in at the same time as us and when we came out of the scan rooms they looked a little shocked!! "all ok guys??" - "er, yeah - we're having twins!" bless em - they hadn't seen that one coming!!

MummyWilliams - I'm 12+3 today too - snap!

Bobber - bless you and your bed rest, hope you get full pay!! Bed rest also means sofa rest surely so a subscription to a postage dvd rental might be a good idea!!

Alternative remedies to headaches girls: lavender oil is always a good'un - lavender's safe to use throuought pregnancy too.
Also homeopathic remedies to MS are a definate helper - I've been taking pulsatilla for a couple weeks now and it certainly helps. There are several different remedies specific to your sickness symptoms so google it and see which one suits you best - (always check with your doctor before taking homeopathic stuff). Nelson's pop packets are readily available from Holland & Barret or Boots. Hope this helps?
Also the travel sickness wrist bands really work for me and only cost £8!

By the way - I'm huge! I officially look about 5/6months pregnant! It's embarrassing! I've actually lost over half a stone and my jeans are falling off me - it's just my belly - it's enormous! (I'm only a size 12 5ft 2in)

audreyraines · 13/03/2009 20:24

Hi Fairy, I was really willing homeopathy to work for my MS. I tried most remedies that seemed to suit and even got a homeopath to prepare a specific prescription - but to no avail. I also tried acupunture, supplements of ginger, etc etc, the list goes on. In the end I had to accept that this was just part of the pregnancy, and hope to hell it will go in its own time. Interestingly my MS seems to be related to tiredness for me. The tireder I am, the worse I feel with nausea and the more I vomit. I try to go to bed early and nap with ds, but I still feel horrendously tired. However today ds had a 3 hour nap , so I was in bed for about 2 hours, and I actually feel excellent now, and am eating cheese and tomato on toast, drinking chinotto. that is a pretty good result for me who has been surving on an apple for dinner most nights.

I'm definitely starting to pop this week too, even though I still haven't made it back to my normal weight through all this MS, my stomach is just doing its own thing regardless! Will be interested to see our TPTs next week

mummyhill · 14/03/2009 06:53

Wow that was a lot of catching up to do. Glad to hear everyone's test results/scans have gone well. I have been wearing my maty trousers/comfy leggings for weeks now.

I got on the scales at my mums and had a bit of a shock. I was nearly 16 stone before I got pregnant and am now 14 and a half! Still having the odd episode of sickness but nowhere near as bad as it was. Headaches are the bane of my life especially as i can't take paracetamol as it makes me go cold and clamy and throw up everywhere.

Not going to ask about the sex as I like suprises!

AprilMeadow · 14/03/2009 12:12

Congratulations ParanoidMummy

Glad all scans are still going well.

I have a stinking cold and am feeling very sorry for myself as i know that i have a cupboard full of things that could clear it but cant use any of it Just as the MS was calming down and i was starting to feel more human, i get hit with this

I have plenty of maternity trousers in my wardrobe but now the problem seems to be tops. None of my tops are long enough to cover the jelly belly bump and those that do are far too tight and just make me look fat. Looks like i am making a visit to h&m to get some t-shirts.

iamamummy · 14/03/2009 12:41

mummyhill - at your weight loss!! thats a huugggeee amount to loose.

fairysparkles - i had to lol at what happened with the scan and the twins - what a shocker!! i think i would be over the moon to find out i was having twins, although to a young couple they will certainly have their hands full

aprilmeadow - sorry to hear you feel poorly, wrap up warm with a nice hot chocolate, that always makes me feel better!

well i shall probably be absent for the next few days as i am on night shift at work and boy does the lack of sleep knock it out of me!

have good weekends everyone xxx

ladylush · 14/03/2009 13:26

Hats off to you iamamummy - no way could I do nights. Are you a nurse? In fact I was delighted when in my pg with ds my manager took me off nights and put me on days. Everyone knew I hated nights so thought I'd got pg to avoid nights Now I'm a CPN so normal hours.

Got my letter from the hospital today. It was so nice seeing "Low Risk" in print (for trisomies).

On the other hand, had my booking appt. with m/w this morning and my pregnancy is classed as high risk so I will be under an obstetrician. That's because of my recurrent m/c and hypothyroidism. I don't mind having extra care one little bit. Might even get more scans as a result

LittleCheese · 14/03/2009 19:16

Well im feeling rather stressed today supposed to get the keys to our new house on wednesday, but been round to look at it today and it still doesnt have any carpets or tiles on the floor, quite stressful when our lease runs out on our current house pretty soon.

How exciting that we already know there is going to be a little baby girl and a baby boy born in september I am not going to find out the sex of our "bubble" I did find out with DD and find myself feeling slightly upset about it now when friends talk about the surprise when there beans were born.

I am also suffering with headaches and I definately put it down to dehydration as I know I am terrible for not drinking enough during the day.

peachygirl · 14/03/2009 19:38

Congrats on finding out the sex ladies, I can't believe how busy this thread is!
We did find out with DD and will probably find out with this one.

MummyWilliams · 14/03/2009 21:29

Feeling fat and fed up!

blue76 · 15/03/2009 10:00

ahh mummywilliams....give yourself a couple of weeks and you will start to feel more pg...feeling pretty much the same myself but I know that when I feel little one moving it'll change things a lot. My (.)(.) have gone up 3 cup sizes already...had to buy 36F yesterday and I'm a size 10-12 so you can imagine how stupid I must look!!

Trying to complete an NVQ and foundation degree whilst working a 30 hour week, looking after 2 kids and a bf with a broken hand is taking its toll on my sanity...

audreyraines · 15/03/2009 10:40

my goodness blue - you do have a lot on your plate! hope you manage a little bit of rest sometiems. i'm feeling indulgent for my afternoon naps now
although we had a bad night last night, ds took ages to settle and woke up twice quite upset - 'im not really sure what is going on. 2 year molars maybe? but he doesn't say his teeth hurt or anything. just a tricky patch.
dh took ds swimming this morning, so i'm trying to clear out all my clothes to make way for the maternity season! also i've managed to fill a huge garbage bag of things i should have thrown away ages ago - feels good to clear out. we also need to remove a table from our room to make way for a cot again, so have to juggle all crap stuff we have.
gonna jump in the shower though and go out for coffee, it's such a nice day!!

ladylush · 15/03/2009 10:56

It is a lovely day indeed [smile Anyone doing anything nice today? We're going out for lunch so I'm off to google and see if there are any nice parks near where we'll be.

ladylush · 15/03/2009 10:58

my smile is missing a bracket Anyone getting hot flushes? Over the past week I've been getting hot cheeks and a hot forehead. My dh said that must be the 2nd trimester glow

Snowfalls108 · 15/03/2009 11:43

what a beautiful day - just need to get DH out of bed and then can go an enjoy it.
Officially now in 2nd trimester. Have been googling pictures of 14 week old fetus - its amazing how much like a complete baby it looks.
My stomach is weird - was never the slimmest (size 14) and although my stomach hasn't grown at all, there is now no difference if I breath in! So I guess it'll start going out soon. Can't wait - I think I'm in the "pregnant or fat" stage. Would like a great big proper bump!
Not sure how those of you already with DC's cope. The tiredness is a killer.

ladylush · 15/03/2009 11:54

Snowfalls - you need to train lo to go downstairs in the morning and watch t.v so that you and dh can have a lie in. That's what ds does and it's bliss

audreyraines · 15/03/2009 12:22

ladylush, how old is your dc? i wish ds would do something self-entertaining in the morning but he's only 2 and a bit.

lemonmoon · 15/03/2009 13:43

Snowfalls, I'm exactly the same - same stomach, same size. Now have pouched out at the front, and look like I've been on a doughnut bender. I always wondered why pregnant women were in such a hurry to look pregnant and now I know.

We're off out 'somewhere' since it's nice. I wanted to go up West and look for clothes, but dh not so keen Maybe a wander over to the pub for a proper Sunday Roast (via the two maternity clothes shops on the way...).

TrixieVix · 15/03/2009 19:34

Hello lovely ladies - how is everyone? Congratulations on everyone's scan and especially to those who had worrying test results come good!

I had my dating scan last Tuesday which put me at 13 weeks and 1 day exactly, so the day after tomorrow I'll be officially 14 weeks - couldn't come soon enough! All was well with Bubs and couldn't believe how much we could see - even managed to wave at us! I think I found it particuarly amazing as with DS1 we didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 18.5 weeks, so was amazed by the 12/13 week scan.

I'm finally back at work following 6 weeks off with HG (although they're being fantastic and am only working mornings at the moment until I feel back to normal). Still, it's nice to be back to normality a little bit by having to get up and showered etc. which is a small step in the right direction. The MS is still very much present, but am at least able to eat a little now and not be sick, which is a minor miracle!

My bump has definitely arrived and although the weight I've lost through HG has stayed off (so far) my jeans are loose everywhere apart from my tummy, so have had to break out the maternity trousers for the first time this weekend. Feel a bit of a fraud doing so this early on, but hey ho - it's better to be comfortable. My boobs have also exploded - was in a 32HH prior to falling pg, but this weekend had to admit defeat with my old bras and braced myself for the mind-blowing expense that is bra shopping...begrudgingly bought a 34K and have to admit I do feel a lot more comfortable. Am hoping they won't change much more over the next few months, otherwise I'm going to look ridiculous carrying them round in a wheenbarrow . DH sees it as a bonus, but then he doesn't have to carry them around. He tried to get frisky this morning when I was out of the shower, which ended up in my crying saying "if only you knew how sore they were....I feel like a cow" and soon altered his mood

Anyway, minor moan aside, I'm feeling much more positive now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel re. MS and actually feel I'm allowed to get excited now I've had my scan. I'm due exactly 6 months today - yippee!!!

Hope everyone have had lovely lazy Sundays in the sunshine and are all feeling well.

Much love x

ladylush · 15/03/2009 20:32

Audrey- your lo is still quite young. Ds is 4. He's been doing it about a year. We are half awake to listen out iyswim but so nice to lie in bed a bit longer.

TigerFeet · 15/03/2009 20:47

Hi all, lots of catching up to do

TrixieVix, I've just ordered a couple of 36K's..glad I'm not alone

Ladylush, my dd is 4.8 and takes herself downstairs of a morning, she comes upstairs to get me up when she gets hungry . I stayed in bed until nearly 9 o'clock this morning, what luxury.

ladylush · 15/03/2009 20:55

Tiger my ds is a similar age. He's 5 end June. He used to come into our bed in the morning (weekend) but got bored so started coming downstairs to watch tv. He's been able to switch the tv on and use the sky remote since he was 3. Our friends are very jealous that he leaves us to rest at the weekend but we feel we deserve it as he was a terrible sleeper until he was 3-4

TigerFeet · 15/03/2009 21:03

DD is 5 in early July - we'll have a very similar age gap! I'm told by those in the know that it's a good one . We don't have sky but she's a dab hand with the DVD player . I remember my Mum complaining that my brothers and I wouldn't get up during the week but would be up with the lark at the weekend - DD has got her own back on Mum's behalf , we need crowbar some mornings but at the weekend, 7 is good, so I'm delighted she can entertain herself for an hour or so.
