polony that's very sad about your brother.. here's hoping they don't make the break up any worse than i'm sure it already is.

I too have suddenly got a sweet tooth recently... for me it's been choc mini rolls, hagen dazs ice cream & pain au chocolat. Been trying not to give into it entirely so not buying too many and having juicy sweet fruits like melon & pineapple when the treats have run out...

I fell asleep this afternoon! DS & I were having a snuggle on our bed watching pre-recorded postman pat while DH was watching the rugby and ironing his shirts in the lounge. The next thing I knew it was nearly dinner time! Feel a lot better for it... i didn't realise how tired i was.

pulapula · 08/02/2009 19:38

Evening all,

I thought it was just me who couldn't get through the day without chocolate! Have been craving it like mad.

I have been feeling surprisingly energetic the last 2 days- was worried i was just being lazy before (and DH has been getting a bit fed up of it) but suddenly I have the energy to deal with the kids without snapping, do the washing/tidying up, and so on. I'm hoping this will last for a few more weeks before I get to the final stages.

Belgianchocolates · 08/02/2009 19:52

polony Sorry about your brother and his wife, but on the bright side, at least they discovered it wasn't working before any children were involved. That would have been even worse.

My SPD has miraculously got better. It's not gone, but has got better. The belt works really well, but even on days that I'm not wearing it, it has improved. Maybe it's because I'm not constantly overburdening my pelvis anymore?

I also feel that lo has shifted into a completely different position. I used to get kicked on the bladder non stop, but now it's more at the front and my right side and even by my ribs, a place where I never used to get kicks. Maybe it's turned head down now. It's almost impossible to palpate my own tummy, so I think I'll have to wait for Fri when I see my mw to see what she thinks. I'll also get stabbed then for my 28 week bloods. Gosh 28 weeks, time flies!

FiKelly · 08/02/2009 20:13

not looking forward to 28wk bloods.. 2wks to go. i'm such a whimp & have to be lying down with my feet higher than my head or i have been known to pass out. dh always comes with me when they take blood just in case..

Momino · 08/02/2009 20:53

Hi all.
Fi, I've got to give my blood tomorrow for my AntiD injection this fri. yuk.

How come, after giving birth twice, I still am a wimp at the thought of a needle?

oh, it's all good fun...

Momino · 08/02/2009 20:55

those of you with sweet cravings - do you know if you're having girl/boy? I know there is an old wive's tale about the types of cravings with each sex and wondered if there is a pattern.

llareggub · 08/02/2009 20:57

momimo I went off sweet things in my last pregnancy and also in this one. Both boys!

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 21:17

Re:cravings.. I don't normally like sweet things but now really like chocolate and have polished off 2 iced buns tonight

Could this mean......a girl?

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 21:24

My DH decided to get p*ssed during the rugby today and went off to bed by 7.
I wouldn't mind - but we did have a friend round for dinner at the time
AND I've just bought him a new welsh shirt for valentines day as a surprise!!

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 21:25

DH that is, not the friend, lol.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 08/02/2009 21:31

Hi! Sorry not been on again in a few weeks.
2nd trimester has gone quite quickly and been feeling ok.
27 weeks today and suddenly feeling quite tired this evening. Is it just me or is there a specific pregnancy tiredness where you just don't feel like getting any part of your body to do anything but your brain isn't too tired. (Hope that makes sense!)

Re: cravings, I'm liking tomato based foods and yoghurts and am definitely off curry. Any ideas whether that suggests a boy or a girl? (We didn't find out and we're having fun speculating!)

Anyway, sorry I haven't caught up on everything but I hope everyone else is doing ok.

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 21:37

I'm tired at the moment too ses. 28 weeks today.

Probably won't get much sleep tonight to as DH is upstairs snoring like a train and I'm being kicked inside out at the moment.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 08/02/2009 21:42

I can relate to that too - disturbed sleep in one form or another! Snoring DH, leg cramps or vivid dreams!
Am not moaning really though (honest!) and starting to really look forward to being a mum

flippineck · 08/02/2009 21:42

DH and I watched the rugby this afternoon, but had a long, slightly wistful conversation about how we used the watch the 6 nations - pub, friends, takeaway afterwards etc. This afternoon, we had lunch, washed the dishes, put DD down for a nap, watched some rugby with me bobbing in and out as I was making fish pie for dinner tonight and curry for tomorrow. Then DD woke up and I tried to explain that it was called rugby and the men in red shirts are the goodies! Very different...

FiKelly · 08/02/2009 21:45

Momino i was chocoholic last time with DS... an extremely sweet tooth for the whole of that pregnancy. This time I've not had anything near the same sweet cravings and they say we're having a girl... does that fit your old wives tale? I've heard another old wive's tale... apparently a craving for dairy means girl! that has been me this time...

flippineck · 08/02/2009 21:45

Ses - I felt like that last weekend, I really just couldn't make my body move somehow. For some reason I've been feeling better this week (back to normal tiredness, not extreme tiredness!) but I am feeling a lot more pregnant this week.

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 21:51

leg cramps - aren't they great
woke up with those this morning AGAIN

I too am looking 4ward to being a mum. Just beginning to believe it's all real

Belgianchocolates · 08/02/2009 22:04

Being a mum is great. Especially if your lo comes up to you and gives you a cuddle for no good reason My dd is like that recently and I tell you if she cuddles it really means you're special, because she doesn't do cuddles.

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 08/02/2009 22:06

Good to hear everyone else is in the same boat (in the nicest possible way!)

I also echo the fact that it's starting to sink in - just need to look down at my huge belly!

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 22:08

oh bless belgianchocs

The heartburns just kicked in..time to guzzle gaviscon.

FiKelly · 08/02/2009 22:09

I agree... I just love being a mum too. I knew as soon as DS was in my arms I wanted to have more... just took a while to convince DH.

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 22:12

my DH is threatening to have the snip

I was an only child and feel that I missed out a little.

LoobyLou36 · 08/02/2009 22:15

well I'm off to bed ladies. got to be up at six for work.

Catch up with you all tommorrow.

FiKelly · 08/02/2009 22:18

i'm an only child too... i always said i'd never have just one. DH has a younger brother and says having siblings is sometimes over-rated...

FiKelly · 08/02/2009 22:20

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon my other major craving with ds was for tomato soup... i loathe it but couldn't get enough when pregnant with him... after having him i was back to loathing it.
