And this one would be fab for a boy too.

LoobyLou36 · 20/02/2009 22:47

Evening ladies.

I have been looking on ebay for bits and pieces. I'm bidding on some neutral baby clothes as we don't know the flavour. Not bidding on much tho as I expect we'll get family and friends buying us too much stuff.

My aunt has bought some lovely clothes when she came back from America - really cute and luckily neutral.

I'm convinced its a girl tho - don't know why.

Can't believe its only 10 weeks to go

Have been looking at reusable nappies too - there are so many to choose from . Going to check out the local Nappacinno morning when I go on maternity leave for some advice.

Jennster · 20/02/2009 22:49

That sounds like Braxton Hicks Spangle

SpangleMaker · 20/02/2009 22:55

Aha, thanks Jennster, glad to have an explanation They feel quite strange, a little uncomfortable but not at all painful.

spangle sounds like my one and only braxton hicks the other day... had to ask here myself as i never noticed any with DS

I'm also trying not to buy any more maternity tops... I'm going to give breast feeding another go so have been looking at some bfeeding tops and may treat myself if able to do it this time. These by mamaway aren't too expensive but my local posh maternity shop has the gorgeous boob stuff...

FiKelly · 20/02/2009 23:05

oh and for those thinking of using washable nappies frugi do clothing cut more generously to go over the larger bottoms created by the washable nappies... they have some nursing wear too. They used to be called cut4cloth and lovely quality.

Yeah I agree Dandy she's a bit of a whizz tracking down stuff on t'interweb!!

Spangle thats def a BH you've felt - funny how tummy goes rock hard isn't it - see you sunday!

detsy · 20/02/2009 23:36

Ok off to beds now after my hectic day - fingers crossed for a decent nights sleep. Tiler coming first thing and me in PJs first thing is way too scary for strangers (or me in fact...)

FiKelly · 20/02/2009 23:41

the main reason i have so many mail order/ web stockists for stuff is we have very to choose from in our little town centre and bristol is a 50+ min drive away so i don't get there v often these days as ds gets bored with the car journey & then shopping. Mail order is much easier and at least i get a choice of stuff without trailing ds everywhere

Right i'm off to bed too & hopefully for a good nights sleep too...

FiKelly · 20/02/2009 23:42

sorry meant very little to choose from!

SpangleMaker · 20/02/2009 23:44

Fi and just when I had managed to convince myself I only needed 2 nursing vests

Looking forward to a bumps, babies & shopping style chinwag detsy!

BTW I had a lovely long cuddle with my friend's 6-week-old baby today, he's gorgeous, can't believe I'll be getting my very own

off to bed so your c/cards can stop twitching!

Febes · 21/02/2009 09:26

Fi I love the feeding tops site you posted last night. I hate trailing round the shops need to be in the mood so mail order suits me too.
I'll have to get some new feeding tops as DD was a winter baby so I wore feeding vests with a normal top over it.
This time LO will be a summer baby so that will be too hot. I'll need some easy access tops. Definately want to keep my flabby tummy and stretch marks hidden but I'll feed anywhere so need nice tops.

sausagenmash · 21/02/2009 10:20

Flippineck - I'm rubbish at ebay too! Soz to hijack the thread for a mo - the IO skirt is 25" long, and the elasticated waist at its biggest is 36"ish. Its meant to be a twirly gathered knee length skirt to sit under the bump, but it comes down past my calves!

I've got to do a bit of work this morning in my bunged up state (can't taste tea and marmite!) but I'll put a pic of it on here later - if I can work out how!

Momino · 21/02/2009 11:54

just a quick note before I'm off to a hen night in Manchester. not looking forward to driving 2 hrs! will prob stop a lot. I am looking forward to freedom from children/dog/home, etc.

hope all are well today and have agood weekend.

chocfrog, just a quick reply on the PND... went off anxiety tabs when I realised I was preg in Aug. but have felt a few times really wanting to go on anti d's during this pregnancy. Counsellor has helped a great deal, i've seen her since last Jul though so had already established sessions. i also 'bothered' very understanding GP a lot so feel I've got support. PND is in my notes so I feel like I've got people looking out for me on this pregnancy. I believe you do have to seek the help though. Do you have a good GP? Can you talk to your MW about what's going to happen after the birth?

anyway, better go. take care lovely ladies and no doubt see you on the next thread (I like the hot,hot title!).

SesHopesSpringwillbeheresoon · 21/02/2009 12:28

Momino - hope you enjoy the hen do.

DH and I are off to London in a bit. We've got a night booked in a hotel and are going for dinner and to see The Mousetrap this evening.

Hope everyone has a good wkend

chocolatebunnies · 21/02/2009 16:19

Hiya Ladies,

God this thread goes so quickly! I cant keep up!

I've sent DP and Madi off to watch the football (dp is injured so he cant play) so I have the house to myself, although they will be/should be back soon!

I'm planning on a homebirth this time, have discussed it with DP and I win! lol! Anybody else planning a homebirth??

Im thinking about maybe getting a hypnobirthing book/cd and active birth book/cd to try and prepare myself, has anyone got any good recommendations?? I need all the help I can get lol!

I haven't even thought about nursing tops yet, arghhhhhh more spending! I cant afford it!!!!!

Its very quiet on here today, where is everyone hiding??

Choc

detsy · 21/02/2009 16:20

Home alone for a few mins - bliss! Very pleased with my tiles just need to encourage a little bit of painting now from DP, i'll add it to his list of jobs

I think I have the beginnings of a stretch mark which I'm not too chuffed about as none with first pregnancy. Do they start "anywhere" ie I have two purple vertical thick lines about 2 " long near my ribs (thanks to DS head being wedged there most of the time!)but seem strannge as they are just floating about and I would have thought they went top to bottom of tummy?

Right off to clean a bathroom and iron some sheets - domestic goddess that I am

Had a rubbish nights sleep with DD awake and fretful on 3 separate occasions. Gave up at 6 and put her in with me and she very sweetly got hold of my hand and held it tightly against her chest as she fell asleep. Hmm yes she has me literally wrapped around her little fingers!! At least we got another couple of hours kip!

momi have a good night in "town" where are you off to. Gosh it seems like eons ago when I used to be stumbling around the Mcr streets, pinching policemens hats...

Ses hope you have a brill weekend - sounds very nice indeed

detsy · 21/02/2009 16:25

Hi choc sorry crossed posts
The NCT cds are very good and they do a homebirth one - someone on here was offering to lend someone the home birth one the other day - I can't remember who but I think they were going to lend it to belgian so she may know who it was (if you follow me)

I listened to my birthing one (hospital version) last night for the first time since having Lotti - fell asleep to it so must be relaxing tho thats not really what you are supposed to do!

I don't have the homebirth one as I'm going techy - can't convince DP of a home birth and am still unsure for me, tho my CMW is trying to get me onside!

chocolatebunnies · 21/02/2009 16:38

Hi detsy

Get you, you are a domestic goddess! I've managed to fill the dishwasher and do a couple of loads of washing today, thats some kind of record for me!

Where can I get the NCT cds from? their webiste I guess?

Hopefully belgian will be on soon and will see us talking about it and will point me to the right person lol! I would probably take me the rest of the day to go back thru all the posts to find it lol!

I think it was having access to his own food and tv and no car park charges that swung it for my DP, men huh!

My midwife is very homebirth orientated so I'm sure she'll be happy that we've decided to do it.

Plus Im a worrier and suffer with panic attacks and anxiety, which is bizarly fluctuated by heat, so I think being in a hospital ward end of may beginning of june would be too much for me! I know, I know, Im a fruit loop!lol!

detsy · 21/02/2009 16:54

look in google under natalhypnotherapy cds - you want the Maggie Howell ones - I'm sure they are on the NCT web site tho.

Lol about DP - yeah that may swing it here too if I decide I want to do it!

I've done washing too but my tumble drier doesn't seem to want to dry today - it does this occasionally and drives me bonkers. Even washed all my silky scarves for work - which I don't use at mo as working from home - think its nesting or something!!??
