I went clothes shopping in Belgium too, a lot less black. They like their colour, the Belgians ;) A lot less jeans and boring t-shirts too.

Hello everyone,

Sorry its been ages since I posted, have had a crazy weekend, I haven't had much of a chance to catch up with the news.

The reason the weekend was so mad was that DH was rushed to hospital in a ambulance in the early hours of Sunday morning. He had excruciating stomach pains which got to the point where he was doubled over almost unable to breathe. As I was calling NHS direct he told me to hang up and call an ambulance instead DH is a typical man who normally needs three days of nagging before he'll go to the doctor, so at this point I was really frightened. The ambulance people turned up and gave him oxygen and gas and air and took us to A&E where they left us for 4 hours without seeing us! After 3 hours the pain had pretty much gone so when they finally saw him they discharged him but as we were waiting for a cab it all started again. This time they kept him for a few hours for observation but sent him home with absolutely no explanation (well they said it could have been bad indigestion, which is insane really) and a big pain killing injection in his rear end! Fortunately PIL were staying with us so could look after DD but poor MIL was horrified at the state of her poor son! I'm now in the middle of three days of nagging to get DH to go to the GP and ask for a referral to see a gastro specialist. We can't be having all that again!

Anyway then we were back at the hospital for a scan to check position of placenta which is still completely covering cervix. However there was no sign of it growing into the wall of the womb which was good news. So looks like we're heading for c-section at 38 weeks. Wierdly I was so relieved that there was no sign of the placenta growing into my scar, I feel quite chilled about c-section. At least I know what to expect.

DH and I might even have had a breakthrough on the name front but I daren't say it out loud until he has absolutely agreed...Watch this space...

Sorry to rant - I really hope everyone and their LO's are doing well.

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:36

My bump feels big, i think it looks big and it feels tight most of the time. Will try to get a pic on my profile of my tummy.

llare i'd be anxious about your scenario at any time - preggers or not!! But yes def more anxious, more scatty, more emotional when pregnant. Engagement ring is the classic example and had a real tiz this morning as thought i had lost my links of london dress ring as well.... found that in my laptop bag tho along with spare car keys which have been lost for months

Very tired, very grumpy and very sorry for myself - pathetic as I'm so bloody lucky

flippineck · 12/02/2009 21:36

llaregub - that sounds scary, hope you are feeling ok now.

I'm enjoying seeing bump pictures, it's reassuring! I've been feeling huge this week (certainly bigger than first pregnancy at this stage) but having seen some photos it's reassured me that actually it's all pretty average. Loving plum instead of black too - I've got a lovely top from H&M, it's a maternity and nursing top, with a cross over front so flatter on more, ahem, substantial breasts. And it's quite long too, so no gaps between top and bottoms. It's good for work and with jeans.

Frazzled - I've had the funny stretching feeling too, like Belgianchocolates when I sneeze, or if I've turned over badly in bed.

rek21 · 12/02/2009 21:37

Sorry - just re-read that and it sounds like we went to the hospital to check the position of DH's placenta! You know what I mean don't you...?

flippineck · 12/02/2009 21:39

flatter? nothing will make these puppies look flatter. I meant flattering of course

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:40

Ahhh rek this happened to my DP - also doubled up and actually fainted at one stage and was insistent on my calling 999. However being the cow that I am, I refused as I thought he was being a super mard arse (actually left him to it on the floor - god i sound so horrible don't I, but I KNOW what he is like!!) Also couldn't bear the thought of all the logstical probs with man in yellow coats dashing about and DD in bed.

Turns out was just a stomach virus which I then caught...

I'm quite nice really (honest....)

flippineck · 12/02/2009 21:41

Sorry, about a hundred cross posts there.

Rek21 - that all sounds very scary. I hope your DH either finds out what's going on soon, or that it doesn't happen again.

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:42

No really I am

Belgianchocolates · 12/02/2009 21:42

rek Hope you'll find out soon why your dh was in so much pain. Hope he'll be OK. Sounds scare and stressfull.
Mixed news about your placenta I suppose, but it not growing into your scar is good.

I'm tired a lot too, not so much grumpy though. I do get a bit more anxious I suppose. I keep having these scary visions of things that could happen and I have to shake it off and say to myself that x or y is very unlikely to ever happen.

Anyway, I'm going to take a bath now and let my poor pelvis relax before I go to bed.

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:43

nice... just not very patient with the sick...

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:44

Ohhh crossed posts everywhere :O

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/02/2009 21:44

rek

I hope your dh is ok! Poor thing. Re the CS, as you say, at least you know what to expect!

Belgian

I'm wearing all black except for (Oh God the shame) leopardskin pants that my mother bought me for Christmas/birthday....

The most excitingly coloured top I have at the mo is navy blue. However, I have eyed up some rather niftily coloured tops in Mamas and Papas so perhaps this weekend is the weekend to change my image.

I think I may have to do a bump picture - I was told it looked like I'd swallowed a beach ball today

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/02/2009 21:46

detsy

we know you're nice!!!!

we know you're lovely!!

Don't you fret.

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:47

Cheers grumpy!!

frazzledoldbag · 12/02/2009 21:48

rek how scary for you and DH, I hope it gets sorted out. Did they check for appendicitis? Sounds like me when I had appendicitis - was truly awful, thought I was dying. But also I know a man who was rushed to hospital and into theatre with an appendicitis, but when they opened him up to remove it, it was perfectly healthy - he just had (very severe) trapped wind!!!!!!!! Which I believe he released while under anaesthetic. He laughs about it (now).

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:48

Are pants, Knickers or are they external pants like erm leggings or trousers...

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:52

Yeah Frazz see what I mean about blokes! Bloody trapped wind??!! lol
I do worry that one day when DP is really ill then I won't know if he is or not!! Good job they don'thave to do the labour hey!

frazzledoldbag · 12/02/2009 21:53

detsy I was wondering the same thing.............

belgian - relieved I'm not the only one to feel this, I was worried that something was ripping and I might be about to fall to bits.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 12/02/2009 21:54

Ooh Detsy

I meant knicker pants, but the thought of my stout thighs encased in leopardskin leggings made me snort tea, especially if they were made of flammable velour (making that swish swish noise as I strode around).

They sell lots of clothes like that up 'ere in Boro.

frazzledoldbag · 12/02/2009 21:55

detsy crossed posts (again)!

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:56

Ok I have a TMI query. I feel somedays when on my feet a lot, that my fanjo is falling off (never used to call it a fanjo till MN) - just feels mega mega "heavy" and if I sit on loo it def feels like everything is dragging down...

I know that there is more blood and general fullness during pregnancy but I don't remember this heaviness - think I need a sling contraption.

Any one else the same??

frazzledoldbag · 12/02/2009 21:59

Big sigh of relief for knicker pants. Not velour leopardskin leggins - giggling at the thought of you striding and swishing around the streets of Middlesborough!

detsy · 12/02/2009 21:59

Grumpy most relieved its knickers only - I had a stunning bet lynch type image...

detsy · 12/02/2009 22:00

Rustle...
