Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

More good luck for babyinbelly.... is there any way they can minimise risks of starting labour?

Wheelybug · 11/02/2009 13:48

Good luck BIB !! Fingers crossed your LO stays put but if not, as MKG says, we're at a good stage for all to be fine.

Sounds like lots of people are on course for feb babies !! It'll start getting really real (really real ???) when we have lots of arrivals to join Bettie !

I have 36 week growth scan on friday too (probably mentioned that) and am going to ask about going in MW led unit and wait for the laughter....

twocutedarlings · 11/02/2009 13:48

Good Luck Baby!! i sure all will be well will be thinking about you xx

lollipopz · 11/02/2009 13:56

Good luck baby hope all goes well. Having a rough day myself car is broken and in garage waiting for a new radiator so i have been walking about all day pushing a heavy ds about in his buggy. Just went to the toilet and was a bit of blood in my discharge sorry tmi putting it down to doing too much but just going out again to get dds. hopefully nothing 2s i am only 34 weeks x

jollyjoanne · 11/02/2009 15:31

I loved all the birth plan info - will definitely have to sit down with DH and decide what we want to do. He is very squeamish and really I am not sure how he is going to cope as much as worrying about myself. But I suppose it would be useful if we have a plan is place.

I am little under the weather today, didn't get much sleep as the downstairs are had become very itchy and then the cat very generously brought me a mouse a present (still very much alive) - (eeeewwgh). So been to the doctors this morning and got some canestan for the suspected thrush down below - also eeewwwgh.

Best of luck baby hope it all goes well with the iron infusion.

Lolli hope your day starts to get better as well. I'm not sure how I would cope without my car, I so dependent on it.

And is anyone elses baby going totally crazy at the minute? I am not sure if it is because I feel a bit tired and icky, but she has done nothing but wriggle around today - there seems to be hands and feet and hoola dancing going on almost permanently.

auntyspan · 11/02/2009 15:42

Well I'm FINALLY getting somewhere I think... DH has been in the loft all afternoon getting down all the baby stuff and have had a lovely couple of hours going through all the clothes etc - they bring so many memories, and I can't believe there's going to be a little person in them soon!

Had 36 week check / bloods done this morning with m/w, am still measuring big and they may scan me on Monday when I see the consultant. Hopefully I'll get my section date then too.

BIB good luck for the iron thing - fingers crossed baby stays nice and warm and safe for a bit longer!

I read both Gina Ford and Baby Whisperer when I was pregnant with DD1 and took bits out of both books. Some of the sleep stuff from the Baby Whisperer was fantastic, esp when we were having problems when she was about 3 months old. After a few weeks I will try and get her into a routine, but I certainly think it's a bit ambitious to try from day 1. DD1 sort of got herself into a routine by about 4 weeks anyway, with a few nudges in the right direction from me!

I keep waking up in the middle of the night thinking my waters have gone... does anyone else have that?!

auntyspan · 11/02/2009 15:43

Oh.... and my birth plan consists of this:

: turn up
: have spinal
: have baby
: ring mum and dad

oh the joys of an elective c-section!

babyinbelly · 11/02/2009 15:43

Thank you everyone. Will be off soon to get it done. They said 4pm but phone first to check they are not too busy! Will let you know how it goes. x

MKG · 11/02/2009 15:56

It's official, I'm nesting. It's supposed to be really warm today, so I opened up all the windows and as if for the first time I saw how terrible my house looks (for having 2 children under 3.5).

I'm a little emotional though because I'm currently washing the baby's clothes and putting them away, and I'm finding some of the boys clothes and I'm just remembering how wonderful it was when they were born, and how this is the last time I'll feel that wonderful again. I'm emptying old bins of blankets and clothes and thinking about how I won't fill them up again. I can't wait for this baby to be born so I can feel semi-normal again and at the same time I want to be pregnant forever so this time in my life won't be over.

Emotional tirade over.

auntyspan · 11/02/2009 16:25

Yes MKG I know what you mean. I was unpacking all these clothes earlier thinking - "what do I do with them when DD2 has grown out of them? Put them in the loft? Why? Charity shop?? "

And yes I was saying to DH last night that I should be enjoying every second of this pregnancy as it's my last... but then I'm so uncomfortable I can't wait to feel normal again.

kanga5 · 11/02/2009 17:43

hello,
everyone seems busy and positive today!!!

Boobz, I did use Gina Ford for ds1, but I found I used principles only, couldn't stick to her times. Since then can't use it at all as each baby just has to fit in with the rest of the family now. So don't get stressed, go with the flow a bit. From day 1 cuddle cuddle cuddle as it goes so quick...

Yes I am knackered too and baby decides to do Wii fit whenever I lay down to rest. Then that sets off a BH which clamps down on baby's activities and makes me feel all weird.

Good luck BIB, hope you get home soon and baby stays put a little longer.

Had a couple of productive days getting stuff for baby bag...just need the tens machine and I'm ready for kick off!!!

mum2b09 · 11/02/2009 18:19

heyy girls new on this thread due march 15th 09 4 and a half weeks to go!! hope its okay if i join xxx

meep · 11/02/2009 18:22

kanga - totally agree with your cuddle cuddel cudddle advice.

I read Gina Ford when dd was about 2 months old (out of sleep desperation ) and have to say that I did kind of stick to her bed time routine. Other than that I threw the book across the room (lots of nonsense about no eye contact and stuff).

Friends who breastfed said GF was impossible to follow. However we were bottle feeding and tried to stick to her feed times - and I used to wonder why dd would be crying until I realised that she was just hungry and so I started feeding her more quickly than GF said and that was that !

BIB hope all goes/has gone well.

lol at slick and atomic kitten!

I haven't gone through all the old baby clothes from dd yet but I am sure I will get all emotional as well!

kanga5 · 11/02/2009 18:34

Meep, at the time of having no 1 baby I don't think I'd barely seen let alone held or cared for a newborn before!!! That is the trouble these days with close family mambers sometimes far away. I had to read something as I am a bookish person and always turn to them for advice....however my mum would say: can baby read GF? Easy in hindsight isn't it but as a first timer and with no other help I would still try and read something, just to preserve my confidence. Now it is just pure chaos, bribery, tears and laughter that gets us through!!

I haven't dug out baby clothes yet, but always go ahhhhhhh when I do...

got to go and bath the kids now..

kanga5 · 11/02/2009 18:35

mambers? I mean members

Wheelybug · 11/02/2009 19:01

Just popping in for a moan so apologies to begin with.

Last week I started worrying about my blood pressure as it was getting to the time I had problems with dd (despite the fact I'd had growth problems with her from 20 weeks and I haven't had this this time) so bought a blood pressure monitor for peace of mind. All been well - been taking it daily and its been fine. Today, took it at normal time and it was fine. Then I took it again later beacause my hands have been a bit puffy today and it was up, just at borderline levels of worry but still. Of course, now I keep taking it.

So, it could be that it always peaks a bit later on in the day (dd getting harder work, me getting tired-er).

I have a clinic appointment on friday but now I'm going to have to decide if I should call tomorrow. I guess I have to see how it is in the morning.

Even though I really want a VBAC and know if BP starts rising I won't get this, my biggest dread is them admitting me for weeks for monitoring before they do anything... 8 days in hospital last time was bad enough....

Keep your fingers crossed please its just a blip !

Wheely-Step away from the machine!!! If you do get high numbers and you're worried, take about 10 minutes relax and do it again.

OP posts:
twocutedarlings · 11/02/2009 19:16

Oh dear wheely that must be a really worry for, i am not going to even pretend to understand how BP works cos i aint got a clue, how often did the check your BP when you were in hospital last time? maybe it would be worth you checking it again once your DD is in bed and you have had chance to relax for a while. If its not gone down by then i would ring the hospital for advice tbh, fingers crossed it will have gone back down .

laweaselmys · 11/02/2009 19:42

I have my hospital antenatal class on saturday - so hopefully they'll explain a bit more about the different pain killers and I can choose which ones I want. (Do you think they will have tens machines at hospital, or should I get one myself?) It is nice to read all your birth plans and get some ideas though.

I think our hospital wants small plans only though. The space for the plan in our hospital notes is teeny!

More dire news. Our car is totally knackered have no idea what we are going to do. We can't afford a new one. We just don't have that kind of money, even for a really crappy old second hand one. (Which was what this one was!)

Wheelybug · 11/02/2009 19:43

Thanks guys - its still hovering around borderline but dd isn't in bed yet . I'll take it before bed once I've had a rest (DH now home and taken over dd !) and then see what its like in the morning and call the day assessment unit in the morning for advice. Ho hum.

mum2b09 · 11/02/2009 19:44

woke up tismorning havnt suffered from strech marks atall and smack bang there they are big horrible red strechmarks all over my stomach anyone else got really bad strech marks?

Slickbird · 11/02/2009 20:13

BIB - Good luck darlin' hope the bubba stays put for you and the transfusion is not too grim.

Wheely I think it does go up if you've been rushing around or even talking to someone while you are getting it checked! Difficult, I think, if you are a bit anxious about it, as that might also make it a bit higher?

Mum2b - Welcome! I didn't know stretch marks could just appear like that so quickly? I'm on my third and so far I've not had any, but there's still a couple of weeks to go, so I guess there's still time!

I am absolutely shattered tonight. I spent the whole day yesterday searching for a pink alarm clock for a 12 year olds birthday today and a pair of waterproof ski type gloves for DD1 to play in the snow. Could I find any? Could I f! I nearly fainted in Next at 10 to 5pm - Had been out since 9.30am! Am such a stubborn cow. Got a bit of a bollocking form my DH when I got back. Does he not understand when a pregnant woman is on a mission there is no stopping her. Not even a screaming fnny and pelvis or a disgruntled 17 month old daughter......

I am so ready to get this baby out but am now nervous for the next few days as DH is away til Sunday from tomorrow and I'm now really hoping I don't go ito labour while he's away. Oh well, I guess there's not much I can do about it.

lollipopz · 11/02/2009 20:22

Law with you on the car front. Been without mine for 3 days and i cannot cope! Getting it back in the morning but having to use the pram money to pay for a new radiator for it. Went to docs about earlier bleed have another uti. If there are still signs of it next wed they are going to give me antibiotics intravenusly. Thats 3 weeks i have had it now and loads of pills. x
