Yes definitely, I think the plan would be when we have had children and they are at school that every summer will be spent there for the duration of the holidays and whenever possible (but I want them to be educated in the UK and I also don't want them to do military service) but I think we will start in smaller chunks and split our time between the two (will hopefully buy something over there in the next couple of years before they join the EU!) and then just gradually spend more time there when we can and we will definitely retire over there! I love it over there and I do realise how much he has sacrificed for me so tis only fair for me to spend time there also!) ALSO a house on the beach or rainy days in the UK!!! Although am no where near ready to make the move any time soon!!

No snow in Provence, if that makes you feel better, LuLu and Nutty...forecast for grey, dull, rainy weather all week.
DS and DH had a great time, but DS is very cross with me for not going with them. Not helped apparently by MIl's recurrent explanations that he makes me really tired so I needed a rest and to have a nice weekend by myself. Erm, actually, I have a buggered knee. That woman....
After a morning colouring in dragons, I'm just going to take DS to the childminders so I can finish off some marking - not quite what the doctor expected when he signed my sick leave forms, I think!

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 09:54

BB, you cheeky wench, now you can lie down and I will ride over you in my wheelchair and we can create a silent movie snow montage on a lady tied to the railway line.

BB - That must be tough on DH, i'm glad things are looking relatively better.

AuldAlliance · 02/02/2009 10:03

Sure Nutty, here you are.

BB: a beef sandwich for beakfast? That is something of a record, I think!

Boffin, your AP sounds infuriating. A snowball wouldn't go amiss...

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 10:05

Sorry - But I did feel bad for giggling if that helps!!1

Can't even imagine what our little film would be like!!

She actually opened the windows again once my back was turned, but I have now commanded her in a teacher voice to stop doing that.

Nutty, but who will play the piano??

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 10:19

DS2 plays a bit, about 3 tunes. Not menacing stuff though.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 10:20

I play too - I am a piano teacher - but will be busy riding over you. Maybe a portable keyboard on my lap??

Hi all.

I apologise now to those who have none but.............. ITS SNOWING!!!! Proper snowing I cant see teh car its just a white lump on the drive and its just started doing more it looks sooooo pretty! Having moved to Wakefield from Huddersfield right at the bootom of the Pennines I dont tend to be easily impressed by the quantity of snow we get here but it seems to be doing quite well today.

Well at least the snow is cheering me up as I can barely move this morning I have had to attempt to manouvere the stairs on my bottom with ds sat on my knee.

On a better note dh and I had decided that with regards to a double pushchair we were going to go for a We2 combi as money is V tight at the minute and although they are about £260-£280 in the shops I had found them for £160-£180 in e-bay shops brand new which wasnt too bad we just needed to get saving. I decided to have a look on e-bay on Saturday morning and there was a 2nd hand one on auction which had been purchased 6 months ago and used for a maximum of 2 days a week and although it was collection only I discovered it was 30 mins down the motorway in Sheffield and I got it for £55 ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! I am so impressed with myself and am getting really giddy about going and picking it up on Wednesday (arent I pathetic!).

conkertree · 02/02/2009 10:29

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 10:29

DH and DD have just gone off to kck through the snow, she is utterly captivated. I'm going to have a long peaceful soak in th bath.

Pray for more snow in Surrey please ladies otherwise DH may have to go into the office this afternoon.

PuzzleRocks · 02/02/2009 10:31

Boffin, I shall answer your question about your AP's abilities, but you already know the answer Of course it's not beyond her to do that. I suppose it's possible that she didn't understand the importance of what you were saying in terms of having to listen to Radio Cambridgeshire for the school closures (I don't know what kind of system she's used to), but it's certainly incredibly daft of her to disregard what you said (& to claim that she can't tune a digital radio ). I know some really stupid people & I know that they could manage that. I don't know how your head's not exploded!

Okay, why has she opened the window in the snow? That's just beyond stupid

Nutty & LuLu, do you really not have snow? I thought the south was all covered! There's even snow in Sheffield & I'm missing it Apparently DP got half an inch sitting on his head on his way to uni this morning. The only time we get any kind of weather there & I'm in Brum. Not fair. It is snowing crazily hard here (I'm worried about getting home, actually), but I want snow in Sheffield

My mum (a teacher, not some thickie who's been kept behind for 30 years like you see in American cartoons ) & sister both had to go into school today, but there's been way more snow since. There will be chaos. The school buses are a nightmare anyway, but I don't know how my sister'll be getting back today. & I'm just glad I don't have to be in the car with my swearing mum as she tries to drive back. I was really hoping they'd get the day off so I could spend it with them, but alas... At this rate I'll get an extra night here anyway

LuLu, why on earth has your DH commuted to West Bromwich? What does he do? I can't imagine why anyone would travel for more than 5 minutes to get there!

Ooh, purplemonkey, you're a trained BF supporter? That's useful to know!

BB, a house on the beach sounds lovely. Can I come with you? I'm also laughing at the idea that a beef sandwich for breakfast is the 'disgusting' part of pregnancy It does sound pretty foul, but I'm sure I could top it with any number of pregnancy-related things - but don't worry, I won't. I don't want you to have to see it again
