Morning

Boffin - has DH really gone in to London, I got up at 6 put on the TV and saw that all buses and tubes were suspended and went straight back to bed - I did offer to go up this afternoon if I could get a train (DH took my keys and said I am not driving to London in snow at 7 months pregnant or anywhere for that matter!) but they are going to rearrange the meeting for a different day! Having said that so glad I didn't try as I have been watching the news and so far 3 of the 4 roads I use are closed and there has been about 10 accidents and would have to walk 40 minutes in the snow to get from Waterloo to work as there are no buses!

So working from home - yay (this thread is dead today!), we have so much snow - we have a real Xmas tree planted in the back garden so looks like a white Christmas! I hope we get more snow so tomorrow is off too!!

Boff grr about your AP - she does seem a bit dense but yay for the kids being happy and the pain-reduced breakfast!

puzzle, DH's Dad has various forms of cancer (brain colon and lung all at various stages - about two months ago he was given 10 days to live (resulting in much turmoil for DH and him flying off to be with him) but he had a bit of a miraculous turnaround following intensive treatment and the brain tumour shrank enough got them to control it more (he will never be cancer free but they are confident they can give him more time now). Anyway, since then, there have been various complications with pain medication that resulted in him being temporarily paralysed (sp?) with the pain and unable to eat or drink but he seems to have picked up much more now and is almost back to his old self again! So all is back to to some sort of normality!

Oh see mine are the opposite, really weak and flaky!

I'm in Southsea, Hampshire and we have snow - yay!

Nutty very odd re Bristol as all trains from Bristol Temple Mead have been cancelled because of the weather!!!

Oooh forgot about the physio - still you seem to be in a much more positive frame of mind today as last time you were at a low point so hopefully you will have more strength to deal with it! Have you ever tried being really really over-friendly to her to kind of scare her off?

GingerSarah - I look like a beetroot most of the time.

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!! DH has just come home, there's no possibility of getting to the office at the moment so he is here until further notice. Just in time for an appalling nappy.

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 09:14

Gaaaaaaaaaah - No Fair! (stamps foot) my nails are chipped to smithereens. Always are when I'm pregnant. I'm guzzling almonds, yoghurt and all things calciummy to try and help them out.

I still have about 6 million posts to read before I catch up on the weekend's chat but I think I need to get out of the house. DD spent way too much time in a car seat at the weekend and she's going a bit doolally. And I need to get to the shops to find something good to clean up cat wee (grrrrrrrrrrrr - it's going to be the big cat basket in the sky for him if he doesn't shape up pronto!)

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 09:15

???

DH changed trains at Temple Meads to head up to Brum this morning. No problems then.

And BabyB that is great news about your FIL's turnaround. Phenomenal.

LuLuBai · 02/02/2009 09:16

Now you've got me worried that he won't be able to get home again tonight. Boooo.

Right. Off out.

Laters.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 09:20

There's a lorra lorra snow over here - I think you could reasonably call it a blizzard.

I made DH take an extra jumper and night things so he could stay in London if necessary, as I doubt he will be able to get back. He had to make the effort to go in because his deputy comes from out Bolat's way and we knew it's going to be bad over there. Plus he has negotiated working from home every Wednesday until DS3 is born, which his boss is not too happy about, so he has to show willing really.

Bolat, I am glad you are at home because I would have been unhappy if you travelled in this. Also that is great about DH's dad.

Just noticed blardy AP also opened the boys' windows wide this morning to air the room. Not only is it about -2C but there is snow all over their electronic gadgets now which has blown in through the windows.

GRRRRRRRRRR!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 02/02/2009 09:24

morning all!

very of some of you!
we had a little bit of snow over night. there's a light dusting over parts of the garden but really it's disappointing when they've been going on about SNOW SNOW OMG IT'S GOING TO SNOW on the news all weekend.

of course by canadian standards it's going to take A LOT of snow to impress me!

went and got my belt from the hospital on Friday. it seems to be making a bit of a difference. how many more months to go? I'm definitely going to end up on crutches.

have been skimming over the stuff that I missed and there was a whole BF thing that I wish I had been here for! i'm a trained peer supporter so like to stick my nose in help where I can!

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 09:25

LuLU, Maybe it's just up to London - was on BBC news this morning. I would tell him to check the trains throughout the day as they are going to update all day!

Yeah it is LuLu - it's just very hard on Dh as with all this up and down at the moment his head is all over the place (one minute he is fine and then gets a call which sends him all worried and stressed!) with that and the baby coming soon as well as being thousands of miles away from his family (also his two brothers are doing their military service now so there are less people around to be there for his family!) Makes me realise how much he gave up to build a life here with me - especially as he is not the greatest fan of England anyway (esp when it is snowing and freezing!!!)

I have just realised making snow angels and SPD are probably mutually incompatible!

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 09:30

Boffin has a point ! I am not sure you could be good even if you tried!

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 09:31

We have about 3-4 inches I think, more is falling all the time.

BoffinMum · 02/02/2009 09:37

Kids want me to take them tobogganing!!!

OddEyes · 02/02/2009 09:37

going to catch up soon! but just wanted to come and share my excitement - snow day! school is closed and it was going to be the most stressy day, was up till 12.30 last night working - hurrah, hurrah!
dh has just left to walk to work, despite my desperate attempt to make a duvet day sound attractive. Walking into Clerkenwell from Barnsbury so not that far but sure no one else will have made the effort!

BabyBolat · 02/02/2009 09:38

LOL Boff and Nutty sorry to laugh but have just had a mental image of you two doing snow angels and the shapes you would make with your limited leg spread and crutches! (sorry )
