Bleu, don't feel worried, it is a strange thing to write but I am not sure he meant it quite like it came out - (email is a hard thing!) I am sure he just meant that he realises how lonely you are at the moment and wishes he could spend more time with you to keep you company and once the baby comes you wont be by yourself - however I bet once the baby is here, his cycling days will dramatically reduce!

I don't think you smother him, but have to say I am a fiercely independent person and I have become much more reliant on DH than ever before and he has noticed so think it is natural to be more dependent on them

Nutty, they don't actually have to give him full pay - only statutory which is £117.80 for up to two consecutive weeks so think he is actually getting a pretty good deal!

here is the gov blurb

I would love DH's work to give him full pay but tis SO not going to happen! Oh yeah Bleu, spend much more time on MN!!!

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 30/01/2009 14:37

lol more time on MN? You should not encourage my procrastinating ways girls...

AuldAlliance · 30/01/2009 14:38

Good news: I have a week's sick leave from Mon-Fri next week (coincides with the call for the first all-out, unlimited strike in French universities since May 68, but at least it means I don't have to go to any meetings or pickets).

Bad news: DS's teacher has another meeting on Monday morning, so I'll have to keep him home. Not conducive to rest.

Other good news: my mother has just sent me a box of fudge!!

Hope everyone is OK. Where are they?
Springy? Frekkles?

BB what did they say at the class about SPD that was wrong??

BabyBolat · 30/01/2009 14:49

LOL, I can just imagine you and Nutty sat there listening to it - they were just describing it and saying that SPD only affects a small amount of people and shouldn't limit you too much if you do your core muscle exercises regularly and how certain breathing / relaxation techniques (if you do them properly) can almost completely remove the pain and it could be controlled with a support belt and regular physio and the way to avoid it is to maintain balance (so no going up stairs) and not carrying weight on one side and the biggest problem would be if you damage your coxis as that would seriously limit your mobility (I am waiting for your outraged reaction)

BabyBolat · 30/01/2009 14:50

Auld yay for sick leave (did you ask them about the cream?) but poo for DS teacher! still at least it is only one day!!!

OP posts:
Bleuravin · 30/01/2009 14:53

I like the not carrying weight on one side bit...pity the woman whose baby is like mine and is ONLY ever on the right side... by belly actully bluges slightly on that side cuz Sprite is always curled up along the curve...

Bleuravin · 30/01/2009 14:54

Yippee sick leave; that should help you recover hopefully

AuldAlliance · 30/01/2009 14:58

BB, I did ask about the cream.
His general response was that the official guidelines err on the side of caution and that 5 days of heart-defect causing cream isn't risky.
Boff would not be proud of me, as I was so exhausted after getting there and handling DS for half an hour in the waiting room that I didn't fight back much, just said that I was all in favour of caution if it meant having a baby with a normal heart.
Hmm, your SPD advice sounds a bit flimsy. I will read Boffin's reaction with interest.

Bleuravin · 30/01/2009 14:58

Does anyone else find the svelte swetty betty woman in the ad rather annoying?/

AuldAlliance · 30/01/2009 15:00

Meant to say: I've been using bio-oil and I like it a lot. Didn't get stretch marks last time, so I can't really say if it's a miracle cure, but it goes in well and isn't too greasy. I've been avoiding smellies, so am not too fussed about the lack of nice scent.

AuldAlliance · 30/01/2009 15:02

Me, bleu!!
Her tummy is too good to be true and she looks, erm, sweaty.
And she keeps morphing into some slightly twee and cutesy cups, spoons and plates sets.
Is there no way to cut her down to the size she was before? She's taking up half my screen and cutting into the page...

As for that other ad, I feel like changing it:

"Enjoy the real France: a loony, megalomaniac President, doctors who know sweet FA about pregnancy and childbirth and drivers who don't stop at zebra crossings even for limping mothers-to-be!"

Lol Auld. you're right she does morph into the twee cups and saucer sets. LOL Though I perfer the sets to her sweaty self with her tanned flat narrow hipped self standing there...

Bleuravin · 30/01/2009 15:09

Oh good Nutty, I'm glad to hear about your considerate baby as I was a little afraid I had some sort of weirdly placed placenta.
