lol how cute

I often wonder which of my books my children will love and if any will cause obsessions

babypringle · 20/01/2009 21:35

mathsmummmy - have you sorted out keeping in touch days? I mentioned them to my HR person and she just looked at me blankly!!

Bleuravin · 20/01/2009 21:35

Yes really Springy...I think you may not be looking in the mirror enough. Your pics show us all that you're very cute.

mathsmummy27 · 20/01/2009 21:48

I'm going in on one day to run a kind of maths fun day..other than that, as I understand it I don't have to give much notice (couple of weeks max?) and they HAVE to pay me if I turn up. One of my colleagues did this recently - think she gave two weeks' notice.

Does everyone get KIT days?

BoffinMum · 20/01/2009 21:54

Hello again!

So pleased I am getting some medical attention that I am more chirpy than I have been for weeks.

Finished all my marking, even the placement projects. Up to date with all work emails. New life looms ahead!

Mathsmummy, for the keeping in touch days at my work you get paid at the full rate, but you can only have a maximum of ten apparently. I wonder if that's a standard thing?

Bleuravin, what is your academic field?

Literature.
I didn't want to leave Uni until I felt that I had a wellrounded grasp of the subject so I went to school for 7 years ook so many lit courses I knew every prof and was friends with most Best years of my life in some ways. Funny enough if I would have went to school and Uni over here I'd probably have a PhD and have felt far more satisfied with my grasp on the field... but as it is I only have BA.

Bleuravin · 20/01/2009 22:00

P.s. Yeah Boffin! You must feel like flying

SpringySunshine · 20/01/2009 22:02

Nutty & Bleu, I'm not sure I've ever been 'gorgeous', but any brushes with gorgeousness that I've had are but a distant memory now

at the idea of a maths fun day... Sounds enthralling

BoffinMum · 20/01/2009 22:05

I do feel like flying, actually.
Bleuravin, are you going to do a PhD? Let me know if you would like any advice.

BoffinMum · 20/01/2009 22:07

BB, I just wanted to say another BIG thank you for encouraging me with the letter and diary of events thing over the weekend, especially as you were so busy with work yourself. I think they did indeed instantly jump to it when they got all the paperwork at the hospital. I must have looked pretty serious and determined.

Then I'll be getting one - it's useful knowing a hairdresser

Springy, I have actually been in a very dark place since November 7th when it all kicked off. This was worse than my very nasty miscarriage in 2000. Ironically I am going back to the same ward tomorrow where I had the miscarriage, but apparently they have redecorated it and moved it all around so I think it will be OK. My lovely mw is popping in to see me in the afternoon as well, to make sure I am being looked after properly, and have everything I need. It's going to be OK.

SpringySunshine · 20/01/2009 22:25

Nutty, I was intending to shop around Apart from anything else if another parcel arrives through the door, DP will start asking questions

& oh, Boffin I hope that it's different enough to not be too traumatic for you. Those things are so awful... I'm glad that your MW will be looking after you as well - it's about time that people all pulled together & got you sorted out. I know you've had a rubbish time (& can't ever guess just how bad it's been, I know), but here's hoping that it gets a lot better from now.

Evening again

I will pop in to Tesco again and if they have one will grab you one nutty -

Boffin, It's really great - I am genuinely really pleased - it's about time they realised that such neglect is just not on! It's not until you (and they) see it all down on paper that you can see just what an impact it has made! Good luck tomorrow - can't wait to hear from you in the evening to see how it all went!

Springy, you can make us all spotty dresses and we will be like the von-trap family! (or von-dot), Boffin can lead the choir and the kids can sing goodnight songs!!

Expensive products are my vice - some people have handbags I have lotions and potions (When DH & I moved in he couldn't believe how much stuff I had or how much it all costs but now he knows it's kind of the way to my heart so just lets me get on with it!!!)

Am in much better spirits, DH took me out to dinner and entertained me with his stupid impressions and childish voices (it's our cheer up thing) and made me laugh so much I was worried about eh (ah humm) leakage - luckily all was fine - so horrible day forgotten, time for bed and look forward to the fact that tomorrow is wednesday and we are officially half way through the week!!! yay!!

Speak to you all tomorrow xxxx

na night xx

SpringySunshine · 20/01/2009 23:03

Night night Nutty xx

BabyBolat, you really do overestimate my dress-making skills - it was sheer fluke that that worked out & it was a lot of trial & error.

I'm trying to think what my vice is. I've eaten 400g of chocolate over the last 2 days (whoops), but that's not the same sort of thing. Will ask DP...

I'm glad that you're cheerier now. It's nice how much our stupid men can cheer us up. It reassures me about having to do this whole baby thing with him - I couldn't do it with someone who wasn't a friend. It's not good how we're having to worry about leakage these days, though - there's just no dignity!

DP's verdict on the vice issue is that I don't really have one & am very virtuous. I'm almost certain to become a lot calmer given 10 minutes in a nice bookshop, if that counts? I want a proper vice though - I need to make greater demands

Night night to you as well xx
