Boy have I been sh*tfaced to that song in my time. [grn]

Ode to Jose the curse of Cuervo,
So hard to say no though it gives one the fever,
Pretends to be friendly,
Then it's all over, over,
It's all over, over,
Pretends to be fine,
Then the curse of Tequila,

It makes me happy,
Con Tequila it feels fine,
Con Tequila when the doors are opened,
And con Tequila when they're calling time,
That's the curse of,

Sierra sunrise and Margarita,
They'll break your heart in the desert heat,
Tell you you're thirsty,
They'll tell you you're sober, sober,
It's all over, over,
They'll tell you you're fine,
Then the curse of Tequila....

If there's a lot on your mind it's there to help you forget,
To relax and rewind and leave behind the regret,
First sip makes you well before you know it it's time,
And you're saying to hell with the salt, lemon and lime,
Salt, lemon and lime, time Tequila,

That's the curse of Tequila.....

Oooh tequila... haven't had one of those since... round about the time we conceived Mini-Munchkin! Huge margaritas on Camps Bay beach in Cape Town... Yes please...

AuldAlliance · 16/01/2009 18:09

Oh, is this where you are??? Hang on, I'll transfer my last post...

SpringySunshine · 16/01/2009 18:17

Yay, new thread! Catch up mostly written & about to be posted - just wanted to celebrate mine & Nutty's special status (well it's either laugh or cry, isn't it? )

& ohhhh, I want tequila...

SpringySunshine · 16/01/2009 18:18

Not an entirely complete catch up since I last posted, but most of it was all covered by other people & I don't want to post anything too epic so early in the thread

I was going to come on & have a big rant about insignificant things, but luckily decided to catch up first & realised that it could be worse!

Nutty, I'm not surprised you're annoyed (understatement, I'm sure)! Can't you insist that they refer you to the pain clinic sooner than that, perhaps? What a complete let down from the NHS again...

frekkles, there's not a lot that I can say that's not already been said better by other people... I hope you're feeling better this evening, lovely. Sometimes things just get on top of you (especially when pregnant & hormonal) & today seems to be one of those days for you As you already know, it's a case of peaks & troughs of mood - & after the baby, there'll be fewer troughs xx I do know what you mean about the future coming too quickly, by the way. This time last year I wasn't even with my DP (although I did know him) & now we're living together, having this baby. You know how difficult that's been & I've often thought that I've made the wrong decisions & sometimes even regretted being pregnant But I really do think that things are going to be okay now & that it's just been a really, really difficult few months - even more so for you, I know. But things do get better, because they have to. You'll cope, because you have to. & we're always here for you, even if you're not feeling well connected in the real world xx

Also, excellent usage of your magical powers with that Turkish spa

Puzzle, your DD sounds hilarious. I mean I'm sure she's a handful that you'd rather was someone else's responsibility sometimes (for example when you're trying to have a relaxing bath ), but she does sound ace!

AuldAlliance · 16/01/2009 18:26

Frekkles, if you e-mail me with a postal address at [email protected], I'll send off the nappies.
Let me know when you send me a message, as I hardly ever look at that inbox.

Feeling better now, a bit.
Had appt with my gynae today, everything fine, apart from mild anaemia. So there's one damn good reason for me to cheer up. Booked appt for the last scan in one month. Time is marching on. I still haven't decided on a bed system, and my pram/travel system combo from last time is a bit dead, as the internal polystyrene bit in the car seat is broken. Knowing modern manufacturers, I'll have to buy a whole new car seat, or maybe even a whole new travel system .

PuzzleRocks · 16/01/2009 18:57

Haha Springy, I got the last word on the other thread.

I think you'll find I did

BoffinMum · 16/01/2009 19:07

I have found the thread now.

Just spent the afternoon with DS2 at a choir school where he is auditioning for a place. He is an ideal candidate, apart from the fact he can't actually sing in tune !! We have to go again tomorrow morning for more tests.

There was one woman there who had been practising IQ tests with her son until the last minute (the book was poking out of her capacious designer handbag) - her 7-year-old had a pin striped suit on and shiny loafers . In contrast we decided to do this on Monday and rolled up having done practically no preparation whatsoever, in jeans, so I am glad it wasn't an international sumo competition as we just might have been psyched out.

So DS2 can sing a Grade 1 song in tune 50% of the time, play Hot Cross Buns on the recorder and play a one-line piece involving three notes on his little guitar. It's not looking great this end. What's really embarrassing is that I am actually a trained singing teacher and I am starting to feel I should have made a bit more effort somehow. Sometimes we are so laid back in this house we are horizontal.

DH has a big chip on his shoulder about all this because he thinks choristers end up poofs, so I am having to manage that point of view a bit as well.

Oh, I hate parents like that. & they make their children insufferable with it, too. It's such a shame. I went to a grammar school & it was really obvious as to which children had been forced into it (& given intensive tuition for God knows how long) because within a couple of years they were all having breakdowns & not keeping up with the work at all. & they all had superiority complexes.

But really, Boffin. Really. You're a singing teacher as well? Were you the first designer baby or something?
