Dh had sushi to make me feel worse. Didn't work and besides I know he has attacked the delivery bag and raided the minstrels.

fourlittlefeet · 12/01/2009 21:18

appetit even. noticed I couldn't spell acupuncture earlier either. is loss of grammar an early sign of labour tree?

Have had 4 flapjacks and 2 hot cross buns (in Jan - how wrong is that?) today on top of all my usual huge meals. Oh my am I going to regret all this at a later stage!

I really need a laptop - we have an old computer on a deak upstairs which isn't very comfy... May have to bring my birthing ball up here if I have to post in the small hours!

treedelivery · 12/01/2009 21:24

Babies eat brains. Can't offer references to support this and it isn't in NICE but I'm fairly sure of my ground.

treedelivery · 12/01/2009 21:28

I used to sit on the ball at computer table. Really comfy! Now in bed squashing pelvis and doing it all wrong.

Yes, pizza, chips and coke in bed. I am really horrible.

fourlittlefeet · 12/01/2009 21:33

oohh minstrels - had forgotten about those!

have also been eating (lidl) hot cross buns. yummy

personally, I want one of these in my labour bag!

Congratulations Periwink! What a lovely name

tree- you are eating in bed?????? How?
I cannot sit up in bed anymore, haven;t been able to for about 6 weeks- due to size and position of bump. Am very I wanna eat pizza in bed

fourlittlefeet · 12/01/2009 22:10

lol at sample for midwives. last time they gave me a long thin bottle, not one of those short fat ones, so only had about a centimeter to try and pee in. Do they know that we can't see the stream of pee, let alone the fecking bottle???!

Sat like budda with 4 pillows and alot of determination.....

I'm not that massive actually - so for instance I have just squashed in a whole pizza, portion of fries and a litre of coke. And to be honest I have room for pudding. Sadly no pudding though.

Oh God am gonna be pregnant for weeks yet aren't I.....bet there's another pound to go on this child. dd was 8lb 4 and this feels nothing like that to me.

Lol at the swimming suit gtdahb. Excellent.

hkz · 12/01/2009 22:19

mmm...food...can't stop eating hot cross buns, and the were buy 1 get 1 free in sainsburys...so we have quite a stock...although its diminishing fast.

dog- I'm meant to be taking dd swimming tomorrow, she started aquatots last week and went with DP and was not very impressed...think I might have to wear two swimsuits on top of each other or something, my boobs are suddenly massive and I'm sure they will try and escape...might chicken out though...

Tree- LOL at you being a pizza, chips and coke slut...DP calls me a food slut whenever I either a) buy posh m and s ready meals and eat them on the sofa, generally surrounded by empty food packaging b) insist on ordering food that requires no washing up and comes with its own plastic cutlery ... So slut food has been a reoccuring theme of late, but if you can't be a food slut in pregnancy then when can you be?

mmm, I want sushi now. But instead am going to attempt to go to bed... baby s hoofing me in the ribs so need to jiggle him a bit...

Good luck any night time labourers!

fourlittlefeet · 12/01/2009 22:19

comfort flash
have meant to post this for a few nights and keep forgetting. since I've done this my sleep has improved immeasureably!

Try putting a pillow along your back/spine to keep you on your side. Not only is in nice and warm (and helps if you are getting back contractions during the night), but it also seems to help support the hips and bump. Feels lovely

night all. tree, may see you later

congratulations periwink.
moose hope this is it for you and good luck.

EachPeachPearMum · 12/01/2009 22:35

hkz- we have been scoffing HXBs too- I love BOGOFs!

treedelivery · 12/01/2009 22:37

Can't believe your all just sauntering off to bed. Whay can't I sleep?
Have got reading an online birthing textbook on optimal positioning due to another thread so will have to get up and on the ball as I'm doing everything wrong this pregnancy. Knees always higher than hips for example as sitting with legs crossed but high.
this page if anyone fancies the ins and out of the mechanical pelvis. Page 90 really interesting. But that might be just me

Nightmare. I like all my family, including the inlaws etc but they are getting on my nerves so you must be steaming. Mind you the cat is getting on my nerves, though I'm not quite as grumpy as yesterday.
wonder why your sister did that?

Ok... managed to hover in bed for about ten minutes, but feel completely restless, so back on the internet...

Just noticed a pile last minute home birthing stuff that I sent DP out for earlier, I asked him to get a bucket and a sieve for the birthing pool. He's come back with a sieve that's the size of a small child...I wonder if he thinks its to catch the baby with... I really think he does

Tree... just had a look at trying to grasp the in and outs of the mechanical pelvis...but I think my brain has lost the inability to take in any new info unless its about food or cute baby clothes. The bit about the mothers involuntary actions in second stage and orgasm being similar is interesting though...is it a pleasure pain thing?

Any tips on finding the sacrum? Went on a natural birth course a few weeks back, run by Janet Balaskas and she taught some techniques on pain relief by applying pressure to the sacrum... DP can't remember how to find it though!

oh my gosh you ladies talk so much. can't really catch up.

Periwink Congrats... and such a beautiful name!

moosey Go Go Go... at least sounds like one of us is having a bubba!!!

Am shattered, but feeling nice after massage etc. off for shower and bed...... praying to wake up in the early hours with contractions. Isn't it funny how we all so desperately want to be in pain!

treedelivery · 12/01/2009 23:17

remember when you fell right on your tail bone as a child - its that bit! Bum crack in other words. Indian and Pakistani ladies have another female lean very heavily on the sacrum with the flat of their hands, the flex and rebound seems to relieve tension and therefore pain.

Was the course good?

I think I've seen lots of women orgasm in late labour, I dunno if they would describe it as that and I don't think it's pleasurable more of a stimulation explosion - but they look like do, sound like I do, get the red wine rash [you know the one I mean on the chest] get the dilated pupils etc etc. Then go all spacey and floppsy bunny.

gtdahb - sorry about your sis issues. Pants.
