Place your bets on how long this thread will last, my guess is two weeks!!

My pics were crap because he was transverse and curled up very foetally, asleep a lot of the time, with his head pointing towards my spine. He looks like a disjointed alien, even though the Professor tried really hard to get me a cute picture. I have had his willy pointed out by four people today though, so I reckon it's safe to say he's a he.

It was very sweet, they used little teddies to lay out in the position they thought the baby was in on top of my tummy, so the Professor could check they had understood the position correctly!

I am trying to book in for a 4D scan anyway, so hopefully we will get some nice pictures then, and I have to have another scan to check growth at 36 weeks because DS2 was so overdue and big.

BoffinMum · 15/01/2009 15:24

BTW just got back from Chiropractor. Hydrotherapy did me a lot of damage and I shouldn't have been doing resistance exercises, apparently. I think she is right because I have been in agony today. I went to Waitrose on the way home to get some little treats to eat later (grapes, nice bread, crunchy peanut butter, etc) and could hardly cope, even with my new Disabled Parking badge. I actually had a little cry on the way back to the car, because it's so horrible feeling 95 years old, and not being able to do everyday things.

When I got home everyone was out so I had to try to hang the two shopping bags on my crutches and then try to get in the house and disable the alarm within the 30 seconds. I just couldn't shuffle quick enough with the bags on the crutches too.

I am still waiting to hear from the pain clinic because I have to come off the codeine soon, apparently. No amount of peanut butter will be an adequate substitute.

Ta, Nutty. I will let you know. My GP is under the impression that there is a risk of breathing difficulties in the baby at birth if you give it to women more than 34 weeks pg.

I have to say I am not convinced he is right, but to be fair, this is why he is referring me to the ANC who then have to refer me on to the Pain Clinic. He is being careful.

I find that the codeine really doesn't do a lot for me any more, because I think I have got used to it. But it's a helpful (third) crutch.

Have just phoned lovely mw to get her to kick ass about pain clinic, somewhat inspired by Nutty's outrage! Apparently she is down at the Maternity Hospital now so can make a fuss in person! Yay!

Oh, I do love MN inspired raging - it's been so productive already.

Really sorry to hear that it's not a good day, Boffin. Does this mean no more sexy men & chocolate biscuits?

conkertree · 15/01/2009 16:05

such a shame that it felt really nice at the time, but isnt doing good overall - maybe you can get the hunky men to just come to your house and rub your feet or something instead?

the scan sounds like fun too - i'd love to see more in depth views of what they are looking at.

nothing so exciting here - just doing my tax return. finally submitted but annoyed that i still have tax to pay when it was meant to be getting collected through my PAYE code last year. oh well. its not a lot.

Conker - No hell yes , I never covet junk.

PuzzleRocks · 15/01/2009 16:41

A bit premature but how about this for a new thread title?...

Due April 2009 - Sod the thread title, we will need a new one in a week.

BoffinMum · 15/01/2009 16:52

Great work there Puzzle.
Are we the chattiest group on MN I wonder?

I think the hunky men might just be gay, actually, because they interact in a slightly gay bloke way with all the ladies in swimnsuits. Or it might be because they see so much totty they have got bored, I suppose.

Nutty, I had an MRI a few months back and got results more or less straight away via a letter in my hand to take to the GP. Vot are zey doing up zere in Vales??

Conker, have you claimed all your professional subs? I always forget that and eventually remember, which saves me £££.

conkertree · 15/01/2009 16:59

i am employed boffinmum for my job as a solicitor, but i do a tax return for a flat i rent out, and just starting for my wee kilt business.

luckily no income from kilts till tax return 08/09 although have had expenses 07/08 but i think i can carry them over to next year before claiming since officially the business started up in 08/09.

i hope. i get a bit confused just with the rental income when adding it in with employment pay - but think i have claimed everything there that i can.

really think i will have to ask an accountant for help next year - its just i dont envisage earning all that much so would grudge paying a lot out of profit to an accountant.

i'm a solicitor, so should be used to reading lots of paperwork and getting some understanding out of it - but the tax system at times just seems like gobildegook (sp?)

BabyBolat · 15/01/2009 17:16

Puzzle - I think that is a great thread title - we have managed a whole 9 days so far so get to day 10 and we will be in need of the new thread! So really not premature - we normally take about 50 messages just to decide what to call the new thread!

Boffin, what a nightmare about hydrotherapy still at least you got to stare at your boys a couple of times before it left...

Nutty, why so long? that does seem a little extreme!

Boffin and so of your scan, I really want to see the little bean again but have to wait 10weeks and 3 days. (and god knows how lone I go over for....) Seriously in 6 weeks time I am heading for every spice, fruit tea, long walk I can to get this one out!!!

aaak! Fell alseep sitting up on the couch (propped up really) with the laptop on my lap. Only woke up now because the cat was also on my lap kneading my belly and meowing in my face looking for his supper... that's the day shot

BoffinMum · 15/01/2009 17:32

I mentioned it, Conker, because even if you are PAYE you can still offset professional subs, and I imagine solicitors have at least one of those in order to be able to practise. You can go back up to 7 years so with a bit of luck they will be paying out to you!!

Check this list.
