OOh so glad you're back and ok snowy. Yes I did some maths last time..it helped take my mind off stuff. Not for long though..

DD and i just made some lovely pink fairy cakes -anyone? let's celebrate snowy's adventures

VirginBoffinMum · 29/12/2008 20:59

Well I didn't want this to be happening to our Snowy, that's for sure!!

I am off cake for some bizarre pg reason but I will watch the rest of you, mathsmummy.

chrismathsmummy25th · 29/12/2008 21:02

well i have snacks aplenty my love! peanuts? belgian chocs? grapes? satsumas? turkish delight? dolly mixtures?

SnowySunshine · 29/12/2008 21:05

Oooh, fairy cakes! Yes please! & oh, I'm sure it did help take your mind off it - I just find the whole concept of doing maths pretty , let alone during labour But that's just because I've never been a number person. It'd only add to the torture for me

Nutty, most of the naughtiness comes from you in the first place! You're a disgrace & should be ashamed

I take from your lack of comment about it that you didn't take your massager to your GP & ask for their advice. I'm truly disappointed

Have fun with your family & get yourself back here when you can xx

SpringySunshine · 29/12/2008 23:08

& ooh, extra cake - thanks Nutty!

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 13:35

Why's everyone so quiet? [suspicious]

VirginBoffinMum · 30/12/2008 14:27

Been quiet because went to chiro, then Tesco to get provisions for modest New Year's Day birthday party we are holding for DS1 (only 10 adults and 10 kids - must be bonkers with me in this condition) and then went out for lunch with FIL. I was allegedly grumpy during lunch, but personally speaking I think it was a miracle I didn't fall asleep with my face in the fish.

Now back in bed listening to Bach on my ipod and drinking the coffee DH has brought up to me. Managed to dispatch DS1 over to friend's house for a bit (hopefully). DS1 has mild ADHD so needs attention the whole flippin' time, which is where his friends come in so useful!!

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 14:31

Haha, grumpy during lunch. What a cheek. Nice food, though?

My back really hurts - think he's lying across, with his feet kicking out of my tummy & his head lodged in my back. It's not comfortable, to say the least. & woke me up every time I moved in the night. I'm just hoping that he'll move soon

I can't believe that you're throwing a party! You never cease to amaze

How was chiro?

VirginBoffinMum · 30/12/2008 14:46

Actually I am a bit off my food today. I had a very bland piece of lemon soul with a few random prawns on it, some boiled new potatoes, and some rather dry reheated veg, and it was all very undistinguished. I could have cooked it better myself. However the mood I was in I probably wouldn't have liked anything.

Chiro was good. My groin was particularly bad, so she used a special kind of spring-loaded hammer thing to poke all the bones back into the right shape. She said my back was less swollen and she could actually feel some of the bones properly whereas before she hadn't been able to. She also clicked my neck and back very gently. It hurt a bit less for a while but after half an hour in Tesco I just had to give up and sit in the coffee shop while DH finished off.

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 14:51

The hammer sounds interesting. It sounds like there's a bit of progress, though. I know that it's still awful, but it seems to be a little better?

I get like that about food, too. It's like anti-cravings

I wish Nutty was around today with some of her jokes - you seem like you need them & I'm totally unfunny

VirginBoffinMum · 30/12/2008 15:06

The hammer is a spring loaded thing with a rubber tip (I think). I am not sure the SPD is better actually but the main aim is to stop getting it worse.

We have set the crib up at the end of our bed, and I have made it all up with its little sheets and so on, and that is quite sweet and cheering me up. DS2 keeps putting his teddy in there and role playing having a little brother, which has been his life's ambition up until this point.

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 15:12

Oh Boffin

The crib sounds lovely, though. & DS2 sounds like such a sweetie! Bless him, he must be so excited. Things like that must make the rubbish seem slightly more worthwhile. I hope so, anyway xx

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 15:22

I do feel a bit better after my pyscho rant the other day and getting it all off my chest. Also I think DH suddenly realised I was in a bit of a downward spiral as well, and has been helping me get better treatment and so on, and showing a bit more of an interest in exactly what bits of me aren't working properly.

I wish he would stop moaning about his perpetual headaches and bad back though, because it's all I can do not to hit him with my ruddy crutch when he does this!!

DS2 is gorgeous, actually. He is my secret favourite out of my three because he adores me so much. However I don't think the others have guessed because he is just naughty enough to get told off regularly.

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 15:24

Oh, I know. DP's the same (although I'm not half as bad as you, so it must be hell!) with his 'oh, my back aches', 'I feel sick', etc.

What kind of naughty? Sounds cute

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 15:49

I have written you some academic porn on the other thread, btw.

How can you resist a child you proposes marriage on a weekly basis whilst giving you wet, sloppy kisses??

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 15:53

I love the porn - would definitely buy it

& awwww, bless! I want my little boy!

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 15:56

They say a woman can never know true love unless she has a son.

Sons adore their mothers and make you feel totally special. Girls often compete to be alpha females, to greater or lesser degrees (mine to a greater degree, it has to be said).

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 15:57

Shall I write an academic porn novel then? It would end up sounding a bit Tom Sharpe most probably, but that may not be a bad thing.

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 16:01

I think you should. There could be all sorts of antics about tutors deliberately failing their sexy female students so they come begging & pleading, saying they'll do anything to improve their mark

& yeah, me & my mum had a lot of that when I hit puberty. Lots of jostling for position - I'd get resentful that she was ordering me around to make her cups of tea just because I was younger My mum's really lovely, but I'm a bit pig strong-headed.

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 16:06

You laff, Springy, but there is a lot of shenanigans around here in panelled rooms. I could easily write an entire novel without even making anything up.

SpringySunshine · 30/12/2008 16:34

Ooh, a third party kiss & tell - nice! I'm intrigued

BoffinMum · 30/12/2008 16:45

Naughty (married) bloke in Trinity Hall, for example. Does all the female students because he is so bored of his privileged and pampered lifestyle.
