LOL Rosie - You are on a DIY mission!
Your making me want to go to Ikea now,
I saw a changing table in there the other week for £20. We wernt going to buy one...But perhaps a trip on Sunday is in order.

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 12/12/2008 11:18

KT i know! Ikea do som really cute babies stuff im going to stop after today anyway i have to (sheepish emoticion) as im already having to get DH to lob some funds in my account for today as spent too much yesterday and what with Chrismas pressies and the like im broke, Have a bedside cot arriving anyday now ( hence getting a lower bed than the one we had too ) so can have fun putting that up next week without spending anything!

KT1983 · 12/12/2008 11:26

rosieposeyxmaspuddingandpie · 12/12/2008 11:50

laidbackinamangernocribforabed · 12/12/2008 12:24

Must crack on ....

MrsY any news ?

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 12/12/2008 13:33

We?re almost half way in 8 days!

I have to admit whilst I?m quite a tactile person I can?t cope with people I don?t know touching me, so strangers beware! I can feel a lot of the baby; I?ve found her shoulder, back, bum and leg I keep trying to show her father but he doesn?t seem interested, I?m desperate to get someone else to notice so I know I?m not going mad!

I had a go at TBD today because he said he?d get milk on his way home (another not in until 11:15 night without contacting me in 7 hours, he knows how much this winds me up!) and forgot. I?ve not eaten properly since breakfast yesterday and won?t eat till tonight (?never mind we?ll eat out tonight as I got paid? ) but I decided that I?m not even hungry anyway so it doesn?t matter. I?ve been drinking OJ - although apparently there is no Vit C is smooth variety (friends wife is a science technician in a school and did an experiment with the kids, they were rather surprised at the outcome, she thought there?d be some) - but I?m not feeling the need for food or drink at the moment.

Don?t forget for January mum?s this is what January will be for us. Add 4 or 5 weeks onto your date and we?ll be having babies here too! As a 01/02 baby mine will be scheduled around 18/01 if we get as far as an elective (just posted in an AIBU about my risks after someone posted a link to an RCOG VBAC guidelines document, think I have enough for a discussion at least) for the first of the January mums next week will be term. It really is right around the corner, isn?t it?

KT, don?t rely on a late baby! Obviously I?ve never had one, I myself was early and the eldest. You?re likely to go the furthest you will do with your first as your body will work faster in future because of the effect on your muscles - but then I?m not sure you have to worry about that anyway!

KT1983 · 12/12/2008 14:08

Has anyone else had any cravings? Im getting through a LOT of carrots lately - I cant seem to get through the day without them...I really wanted to crave something weird like Pickles, Jam & Icecream all mixed together

My Friend had her baby 3weeks early - She was due this week, but he decided he had had enough in there. She had only given up work 2days before She had the hope of having a few weeks to get organised & chilled out before he made his arrival. There really is no telling.
Maybe il get my hospital bag sorted before I move house?....Just incase!!

dinkystinkyclaus · 12/12/2008 15:19

No cravings sadly - though have been eating crisps more than normal.

Rosie - I have 32 days till left at work. Am sure will fly by. The bloody document I am workign on has now crashed (in various different forms) 5 times again today (and is currently giving my secretary another nervous breakdown) - I hate IT. And breathe....

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 12/12/2008 17:15

ERGH. I am supposed to be going out for my works Christmas curry tonight but I can't drink (they will all be drunk), I don't have room for a whole curry as I have a small child's head lodged in my ribs, and I have the worst heartburn.

I don't want to go. Please make me feel better about missing my first night out in MONTHS! Plus DH has been on nights all this week and tonight is the first time we've had any time together since Sunday.

I feel like a right miserable old cow if I don't go but I just want to snuggle up on the sofa in my nice warm house.

PinkPoinsettias · 12/12/2008 17:30

funnily enough, with the other 2 pregs i never had anyone but family touch the bump and that never bothered me, never really 'got' it as i don't feel the urge to do it to others but it didn't annoy me...... it drives me up the wall when people in shops or playschool moms i barely know do it though

we went to see reindeer today with the playschool kids.... bloody cold and raining but they loved it. then had to go to town with screaming whinging ds and not quite so loud dd in tow to buy gifts for dp's parents as his dad is coming up today as well as hunt down somewhere to buy a windscreen wiper as mine helpfully broke off last night in the rain on the way home in the dark.

ds screamed so loud and long in the pharmacy the manager made the counter girl give him a lollipop to try and calm him down he gets so cross and upset when i can't carry him didn't have enough money to buy anything really decent for pils but i got a nice 4 photo frame and printed up some nice pics of the kids to put in it..... that's not too stingy is it?

TBM... a woman on my AN thread when i was having ds was having her 7th baby, she'd never gone over with any of the other 6 but went 2 weeks over and had to be induced with that baby!

littleboyblue · 12/12/2008 17:45

Hello everyone! You've all been very chatty today, not read today's posts as of yet but will catch up later no doubt.
We've been out since 9am and I am shattered! Ds has been very good though, strapped in buggy for 5 hours straight.
I went to Waterstones and bought 2 books about mummy having a baby. One is called Mummy is a House or something which I thought was quite fitting!! Know ds won't understand but thought I'd better start doing something to prepare him.

littlesez · 12/12/2008 19:03

tbm I have no idea what position the baby is in but will ask midwife on friday when i go, if it carries on might try the ice thing thanks

KT yep cheerleading is so much fun, love teaching it (not so much at the moment no patience!) When are you going to work til, im finishing next friday cannot wait

So if baby is early ill have been off for a while anyway, really glad of the rest before babs comes. Shes my first so my last chance for some peace!

littleboyblue · 12/12/2008 19:37

littlesez It's not that bad, you can grab little sleeps when baby sleeps. Take full advantage though. I spent the 2 weeks before ds was born watching The Sopranos start to finish (didn't get into it until a friend forced me to watch).
Get out as much as you can though, drinks with friends, trips to cinema and dinner with dp in nice restuarants. That's what I miss the most, just being able to pop to the local for a quick drink when I felt like it. (Although spent past 8ys before ds was born running pubs, so life is way way way different)

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 12/12/2008 19:43

Hello all....I'm SO knackered....

This baby is definitely head down and bouncing around in my pelvis and also on my bladder.

How am I going to last another 8 weeks

littleboyblue · 12/12/2008 19:47

I think we'll all be on the fresh pinapple and hot curries, whilst sitting on the washing machine {fgrin]
What about currying a pinapple.......

PinkPoinsettias · 12/12/2008 20:23

cumin tea... i swear to god it works!

(hopes fervently I'm right and it wasn't just a fluke with ds as i need kung fu panda to make an early exit)

PinkPoinsettias · 12/12/2008 20:33

somebody please restrain me before i throttle dp's dad!

he's plastered (big surprise) and threw a strop because i wouldn't wake the kids to see him (normally i keep the kids up but ds has screamed almost all day and screamed for 1.5 hours solid right before bed and dd made herself puke she was tantrumming so badly so there was no way they were staying up)

he's ranting at dp now about how it's so unfair everyone else has their grandkids around them and it's such an awful trip up, blah, blah, blah...... poor dp is trapped in the utility room with him listening to his drunken ranting except for when the drunk ass wanders into me with fag in hand dropping ash everywhere to rant at me

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 12/12/2008 21:23

Oh PP - poor you - you are absolutely right putting your kids to bed particularly after the day you've had with them - somedays you just need to get them in and draw breath. Can't dp take him outside for some fresh air and sobering up ?? or could you both (or at least you) slope off to bed and feign pregnancy related exhaustion? I would I reckon.

If it's any consolation DH and I had a MASSIVE rown tonight when he got in. I've hardly seen him all week - as he's been working til really late every night. I have a day "off" tomorrow as I'm wedding dress shopping with my sis and mum. He has ds all day. During the day he apparently has "loads to do"
This comprises:-

  1. going to the post office (our local newsagent not busy and a quick 10 min max job even at this time of year) - to post a present to his godson in the US - I refused to spend my lunchhour in the one in town queuing for half an hour which he ain't happy about.
  2. Buying two sets of gift vouchers for people I don't even agree we should buy for (the grandson of one of his parents friends who we last saw at our wedding nearly 4 years ago).
  3. Buying "family" christmas cards - mine get cards out of the card box nothing special - he hates doing it but doesn't have the guts to do what he likes.
4.Buying the xmas tree - from a place up the road.

So, wedding dress shopping is an appointment thing - We're not "shopping" - he asks if I could possibly find an HMV and buy a voucher there.....I flipped my lid. I do absolutely everything, I have a day off and this voucher rubbish is something I've tried to knock on the head on numerous occasions but he's too gutless to tell his mother than we're not buying them anymore and he wants me to go and get the damn thing on a Saturday 2 weeks before christmas. He thinks I'm being selfish. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGH. God I yelled - then cried - then went and got in our bed and hid under the duvet . All his "jobs" relate to his family things which are the only things he has to do at this time of year and anytime really and he can't even manage that. He was all "oh I've got DS to look after and I'll have to take him to town (hmm, how do I manage every day ?) and I've got "LOADS" to do what is wrong with some men?? - he can't even give me a flipping break on my day away doing nice things with my mum and sis

SOrry my rant over now too - I think I'm just a bit fed up and a bit fat and everything is an effort and he just still can't see it......

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 12/12/2008 21:57

PP - your FIL sounds like bloody hard work...you poor thing.

Herb - men just don't get what this time of year is like for us do they.....especially 7 months pregnant.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 12/12/2008 23:26

Aw frell, every time I post a message it goes to "this page can not be displayed" and I lose my message! This is the second thread I've posted a long message in just to have it disappeared on me I think I'm going to have to copy everything from now on!

littleboyblue · 13/12/2008 08:47

Good morning all.
PP That sounds horrible! You poor thing, hope everything calmed down.

herb Bloody men, they just can't do anything can they?

I was out trying to do all the xmas shopping yesterday, me and ds were at playgroup at 9:30, had lunch at 11:30 and went into town. After 3 hours of walking about I phone dp to ask him how much he wants to spend on his niece's birthday which is 21st dec. He said "About £10" so I said "Don't you think that's a bit stingy?" and he replied "Well why did you f**king ask then?" So I just put the phone down. Don't need his attitude when I'm out shopping for his bloody family! He tried to call me back a few times but I ignored it (like I've said before, he's a bit scared of my temper) so then he hunted me down in Tescos in the evening and apologised, I still ignored him, so we got home, he put all the shopping away, did the washing up, cooked dinner, gave ds his bath and put him to bed and all night got up every time I needed a drink or some crisps, so not all bad!!

oldkingcolewasaMOS · 13/12/2008 11:38

morning all, hope everyone is ok this morning and all the aches and pains have gone and the DH's/DP's are behaving themselves.
I've not been on for a few days as the blardy laptop has broken so just managed to pinch DS's laptop for half an hour.
MS, hope your aches and pains have gone, sounds to me like you have SPD/PSD or whatever its called? I had an incident like this a few days ago after a couple of hours on my feet walking around. Seemed ok at the time, got home, sat down but when I went to get up I couldn't as everything had seized up. Sympathise with you for having a BD near xmas but mine is nearer, the 26th. I was born at 2am so my mum REALLY had a bad christmas. Well on the bright side (for you) you will be 11 years younger than me
on the brightside (for me) My DH brought me breakfast in bed this morning (I think for the first time ever although I often get tea in the morning) It was however rather unusual He remembered that I love bacon and brie baguettes but I got a bacon and Port Salut sandwich which was a little different.

KT1983 · 13/12/2008 12:39

Morning ladies,
Its a very rainy saturday in London - I wanted to go out for a bit today, but im sat at home watching movies ive recored on sky +.
Although I have cleaned the flat from top to bottom. I started with just the intention of cleaning out the fridge, then progressed onto the Kitchen & the Kitchen floors.
Then did the bathroom & decided i may aswell do the floors in the whole place while I was at it!

Im finishing on the 23rd Littlesez - but got this Monday & next Monday off, so only 5days to go!
Im very excited about it....Its my first baby too, so il be enjoying the peace of January - although I do have concerns of being a little bit bored. No doubt il have my mum & MIL coming round to visit me plenty. Got my gym membership too, so il papmer myself, with gym, swimming etc...

Im just very impatient, so dont want to be sat around waiting for little Miss to arrive

Enjoy your saturday everyone - Im going to get present wrapping later, with a bit of Santa Clause the Movie....How old am I? 5 or 25???

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 13/12/2008 12:45

Raining in Norfolk too. And bloody freezing! I just walked to the shop and couldn't feel my hands!

I am staying in today and making the most of having DH around the house for once. DD and I are making vanilla fudge, florentines and honeycomb dipped in chocolate to put in festive cellophane bags for presents.

Will report back later when I have burnt myself several times on the hot sugar and burnt every pan in the kitchen

littleboyblue · 13/12/2008 13:01

KT Haven't you had an active morning. I've done the washing up and pretended to do the ironing!
January will fly by once you've stopped working and trust me, you won't get bored, you'll find loads to do before babe comes. Take full advantage though as you're life will never be the same.

MS That sounds lovely. Making me a bit hungry
