chilledmincepiemama · 10/12/2008 21:47

thats brilliant herby

MamaStuffedGoose · 10/12/2008 21:54

laidbackinamangernocribforabed that name is inspired!

No peace for my body, this child is doing some kind of gymnastic/kick boxing routine. And it really hurts at times!!

Also my braxton hicks have gone completely mental!! I don't remember having them this much with either of my other two.

TinselBaublesMistletoe · 10/12/2008 22:17

KT, I?m still here still getting contractions although not too often at the moment.

So which one of you gave me this virus? I feel awful, been to the GP and been given an inhaler wish there was more they could do

I?m also very jealous of those of you who know your date! I?m supposed to be having an elective, which I don?t know the date of yet and even if I did it?s not likely to happen.

QK you have to do each word individually.

MS ?Shepherds quake, at the sight??

LBB, don?t I wish! Tink being breech didn?t move half as much as this, it?s odd seeing her (Fifi, not Tink) moving under my skin.

mistletoeandlucy · 10/12/2008 22:55

just seeing if my new name works

Morning all ...

two weeks till Christmas today! yay! whilst i am really looking forward to it i hate that bit in between Chrimbo and and New Year ... its just so boring! Mind you usually i look forward to getting horribly drunk on New Years and this will be the first one in 'oh i dont know how long' where not only will i be not able to drink but i dont fancy the crowds that much which tells me there is only one thing for it ... a resturant for NYE - has to done and is very civillised (last year DH and i spent NYE running around St Ives dressed as a mexican and saloon girl - i was v,v poorly the next day) but this year will love feeling all smug at having no hangover on New Years Day!

Glad your BP is holding up QK, i havent really felt much of a slowdown in movements as yet but only 30 weeks this Saturday so think there is still quite a bit of room in there. Have growth scan next week so will be interesting to see what epic proportions my boy has reached, but only 8 weeks to go tomorrow - starting to feel like everyone else, fed up with being preggers and not being able to sleep properly. Ah god acutally two months seems like ages ... sounds better when you count it in weeks eh

littleboyblue · 11/12/2008 08:39

Morning.
Last NYE, me and dp were at home watching some crappy program about Dirty Dancing and both fell asleep (at about 9pm) and woke after 1 in the morning!!
It's actually quite a relief to have dc's and not have to worry too much about going out and getting drunk, I just can't be bothered with it all anymore.
My birthday in 4 weeks!! Another scan in 4 weeks too, can't wait for that!

MrsChristmasY · 11/12/2008 08:59

Morning all - very crappy in the Y household. John has man flu, and my pains have continued...Saw my lovely midwife yesterday and burst into tears as soon as I saw her. She was very reassuring and said is probably an infection of some sort, as there was a trace of protein in urine. But, pains haven't let off since about 5pm yesterday and so John made me call the Day Assessment Unit at the hospital, and I'm gonna go in at about lunchtime for them to check me out. MrsY is very scared... but I'm fairly sure all is okay. I hate not being in control not knowing what's going on.

dinkystinkyclaus · 11/12/2008 09:02

Morning all. QK - glad your deep breathing helped! Sorry to hear baby is breech but sounds like you've got all the exercises to move junior round - also spinning babies website good for suggestions too. Hmm, Christmassy names suggestions... "Questionkidsawmummykissingsantaclaus"? Loving all the christmassy names on here.

My baby is doing his morning kickboxing routine right now ChilledMamaGoose so I sympathise with you!

TBM - sorry you have a lurgy (is it me or do there seem to be more viruses about than usual this year?) - hope you feel better soon.

DH was foolishly put i/c Xmas tree ordering this year (I normally do it but thought about time he does it) - never again! It was delivered yesterday and he's gone for a 7 foot tall tree that takes up half our living room - kept losing DS in it this morning!

KT1983 · 11/12/2008 09:02

Morning Ladies,

Hope your all well today - This week has gone very quickly which im happy about
Ive got a short week next week too. Monday off work to do last bit of crimbo shopping & buy some bits n bobs for hospital bag. Tuesday ive got my growth scan to check little Miss is slowly but surely growing...Still worried at the size of my bump, its still pretty small. Did anyone else have pretty small bumps in first pregnancy?

littleboyblue · 11/12/2008 09:03

Oh MrsY, sure it'll all be fine. Lots of sympathy though. Let us know what happens

littleboyblue · 11/12/2008 09:03

dinkystinkyclaus · 11/12/2008 09:04

MrsChristmasY - go on in and find out what it is. If the midwife says its probably an infection, at least they can treat you to stop the pains and get you feeling better in time for xmas. Am thinking of you, and your poorly DH - let us know how you get on.

dinkystinkyclaus · 11/12/2008 09:06

KT - do you have a long body? If you do, your bump will look small by comparison. I've a v short body so always look enormous in pregnancy - my 6 foot tall friend barely even looks pregnant and she's due next week. Also, if you have abs of steel (which you may well have given your profession) your bump will look neater. Mine are sadly abs of mincepie

chilledmincepiemama · 11/12/2008 09:06

MrsChristmasY-So sorry you're worried. MW unlikely to have missed anything but you are right to get double checked, especially if it makes you feel better.
let us know how you get on.

I have my section run ashore this lunchtime and I'm sure it will be good but I'm so tired that I'd rather go home to my bed...my charming DS spent most of the night trying to persuade me that my bed was bettr than his...funny old thing I didn't get up to him but it did mean a disrupted night (more so than usual) and an early start (I got him up at 6am).

mulledwinemakesmummyfestive · 11/12/2008 09:09

Hi guys - have been lurking intermittently as v busy at the mo.

Glad to see that everyone is getting on fine. This lo is still transverse - he either tickles my sides or head-butts my liver.

We'll be having a v quiet NYE. Think dh may be on call, so sobriety all round. Have got mate staying over Xmas Eve and both sets of parents for Xmas Day. Dh are running a book on what time his dad will be totally inebriated & asleep by.

Don't see anyone for ANC until mid Jan, so will find out when cs is then. Probably w/c 16.02 as will be 39w then. Can hardly wait, though have so much to do before then - am sure it will be here before I know it.

KT1983 · 11/12/2008 09:29

Hmm...maybe a long body? Never really thought about it. It is definatly growing, just seems to be at a much slower rate than all the ladies that I see when I go to the Midwife appointments.
Maybe a blessing in disguise, aslong as baby is ok.

Im looking forward to the scan next week, just as a check that she is fine. She is defintatly a strong little thing - I get kicked about loads!
Especially when I start watching the soaps on an evening - Think she must like the music

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 11/12/2008 09:36

MrsY- I was going to say 'please try not to worry' but I would be a hypocrite! I got myself so worked up about going in on Tuesday but the thing I try and remember is if anything is up you are in the best place possible and they can cope with all eventualities. They are also more than used to hormonal, worried women bawling and asking 400 questions a minute.

It doesn't stop that sick-with-worry feeling, or the horrible feelings of being out of control but I'm sure they will take the very best care of you and lo. Please let us know how you get on, we'll all be thinking of you!

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 11/12/2008 09:39

And now time for my Diva strop-

This Christmas DH is working 12 hour day shifts and dd is away in Ireland with her Dad from the 22nd of December.

Junior and I will be driving an hour to my mother's and back, let's hope it's not icy.

Then on the 27th it is my 30th birthday!

Last year on my birthday I had flu, had never felt so ill in my life. I ended up lying by an open front door trying to lower my temperature whilst DH cancelled our restaurant reservation and went to M&S to buy me lobster. Then I went to bed muttering 'I'm going to get shitfaced next year'. OH YEAH? Well my ovaries had other ideas!

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 11/12/2008 09:52

Morning all

MrsY - hope you get sorted at the hospital - I have been up there fore monitoring many times (when pg with DD) and they were fab and so kind. The midwifery team there have just won "team of the year" as well . I'm sure you'll be fine. Sounds like it might be an infection.

Just got back from MW myself and all ok. Head down - OMG don't I know it, bouncing around in my pelvis and on my bladder most of the night

Had a few scary gall bladder attacks (I know I've got stones) which are very painful so need to leave off the mince pies....easier said than done though as I'm so hungry all the time.

KT, given what you do for a living I suspect your strong tummy muscles are holding that baby in....unlike mine

We also don't do NYE - I'm lucky these days if I can stay awake till midnight....

30 markstretch....OMG....I can't even remember being 30

Lovin all the Xmas names

KT1983 · 11/12/2008 09:58

NYE will be a no go for us too I think - Iv told DP to go out with his friends if he wants too, but he said he would prefer to stay at home with me
Not sure il be able to stay awake for the bells though!

Im much more a fan of Christmas than new year - NYE always seems a bit of an anti-climax for me. Perhaps im just a party pooper

Christmas eve is such a better day IMO

KT1983 · 11/12/2008 10:01

yeah, perhaps maybe it is about tummy muscles. Il be thankful in Feb/March - unless the Christmas Turkey, pudding & mince pies hit the waistline before then
Ive got a huge tin of Celebrations waiting my return this evening...

chilledmincepiemama · 11/12/2008 10:15

I ate a pile of maltesers last night...they were delicious
I'm about to go to a charity cake sale/carol service then out for Xmas lunch...it would take more than bodybalance (my preferred exercies) to keep my waistline in!!!

littlesez · 11/12/2008 10:27

NYE hubby always works and i usually just hang around at bar until midnight then go home, so probably do same this year. Im a party pooper too KT i dont really get into the whole new year thing anymore but dare i say it... dont really like christmas either, feel like its consumerism gone mad. (and valentines)

grumpy today coz cant sort my maternity allowance out, long story bleurghhhhhhhhhhh. stupid stupid

KT1983 · 11/12/2008 10:32

Withyou on the valentines thing littlesez... Baby is due on the 9th Feb. Im hoping she wont turn up on Valentines Day. Or the Friday before as its the 13th!
