I really am going now but just remembered yesterday - client came in to discuss a sale of some property to his daughter and wanted me to deal for him...he realises I'm pregnant - can 't miss it - I ask him what he did in former life and (he's prob at least 75 this guy) he tells me he was a gynaecologist at the hospital I'm having no2. I tell him I'm having a cs and who with and he tells me that "ooh much better, I've fixed many a leaky bottom in my time".....I just wanted to curl up - I'm there trying to be all professional and he's discussing my potential leaky bottom. I quickly changed the subject to more mundane matters before I died with embarassment under the desk

chilledmama · 10/12/2008 15:31

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden- hope you mean slice otherwise it could get really messy

dinkystinkyclaus · 10/12/2008 16:11

Good lord, looks like we're going to have a mass delivery of Fab Feb babies on 2 February!

LBB - stir fries were a god send in the days after we ran out of the pre-made food (just chuck few strips of chicken or meat in pan, then veg and sauce and done in about 5 minutes).

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 10/12/2008 16:34

I'll be 39 weeks 2nd Feb and have still to convince hospital for elective CS....I only made it to 38 weeks with DD...

Oh how exciting...when I had DD I was one of the first on my thread, but this time looks like they'll be a few of us

KT1983 · 10/12/2008 16:49

Im kinda jealous of all of you knowing when you will be having your babies

Silly I know, but it would be nice to know when & what time il be a mummy by. Im very impatient....so the last few weeks will be murder...sitting around waiting

littleboyblue · 10/12/2008 17:03

dinky I actually cooked a stir-fry for the first time the week before last. I'd tried it at my mum's a few days before and it was lovely. Mine was not as nice!
I do like chicken things as it's so easy to cook, we have fajhita's quite often.

I'm gonna have to sort some stuff out for ds for after baby comes. He eats early and me and dp eat late so cook 2 seperate meals each day. Unfortunately ds won't eat 'wet' food like lasagne or cottage pies or anything I can cook and keep, he is more of a fish finger coz I can do it myself boy. I struggle with making sure he has a relatively healthy diet, but I never have done so it's hard.

KT It's horrid not knowing and not being able to plan down to the last detail isn't it? I knew close to the time last time, to the extent that I knew it wasn't going to be today but woke up one morning and knew it'd be tomorrow iyswim

Questionkid · 10/12/2008 17:10

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn't post again yesterday. My worries about my BP were pretty much unfounded, it was 140/80. Obviously that top reading is high and it did make the MW tut at me (I forgive her, she's all lovely and cuddly and Irish and I like her lots) but she said it's ok and only if the bottom reading starts to come up to meet it that we'll worry. I still marvel at how I'm managing to get through all the strains of pregnancy with a bottom reading like that when pre-pregnancy it would regularly be in the high 90's. Dinky - I did my deep breathing again, it obviously works!

Annoyingly it seems that Junior is breech. I know, I know, there's plenty of time for him to turn but being a glass half empty kind of person I constantly think about the 'what if he doesn't' side. Anyway, I've got my instructions for bouncing on my ball, on my hands and knees wiggling my bum in the air exercises etc and I'll give them all a go.

MS - two things, well done on the how's your father. I imposed a ban about 3 weeks ago when my 'down there' issues started, but it's all cleared up now and DH is starting to ask if we can have his way again. I'm running out of excuses...

And, ahem, wait for it...drum roll...8 and a half days til mat leave!!!!!!!!! (My total's gone down by half a day as my lovely cuddly MW insisted I have to be seen on the 23rd as it's the last time I can see her before xmas and it just so happens to be my last day at work, so I'll have to leave at lunchtime. What a shame!!

Does anyone have any ideas for how to christmas up my name, I can't think of anything?

Questionkid · 10/12/2008 17:12

My bold didn't work on my maternity leave statement - you have to put it round every work don't you? Damn it!

Questionkid · 10/12/2008 17:12

Word, not work. I'm not doing very well today.

chilledmama · 10/12/2008 17:16

ebay update...they've relisted for 2nd time...still no change in price or conditions...oh well; maybe they're thinking 3rd time lucky!!!

sorry QK I was about to ask the same thing because I have zero imagination.

oldkingcolewasaMOS · 10/12/2008 17:48

hi all, very jealous of all you ladies that have a date to work to. I'm hoping to find out my date the first week of January. Although I'm the latest due date on here I reckon I might be lucky and have around 7th - 14th Feb as my CS date depending on how the little fella has grown. Have been wondering what it would be like for a boy to have his birthday on valentines day? The postman would think he was vey popular.

QK - can't help on your xmas name, a difficult one.
CM, surely yours is a bit easier? chilledmamachristmas a bit corny/boring?

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch · 10/12/2008 19:33

Gosh I really do fill very full of baby today. When he pokes a limb out it hurts.

Wonderful.

In celebration of your excellent new name I have just eaten a hot mince pie with double cream.

Burp.

pluto · 10/12/2008 20:48

Hello. I have been so busy just done lurking for a while. 17 days until mat leave (but broken up with a two week Xmas hol). Can't think of a good Christmas name but inspiration I'm sure will come! Have got horrible hurtburn but otherwise all is well. I want hot mince pie with brandy butter. In fact I think brandy butter may become a craving. probably not good for heartburn though.

chilledmincepiemama · 10/12/2008 21:15

my favourite mince pies are the mini ones from Waitrose....yummy. May have to pop in tomorrow afternoon...

SwampsterQuakesAtTheSight · 10/12/2008 21:15

MarkTheHeraldAngelsStretch don't u kno yer words to Silent night hunny?

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 10/12/2008 21:28

littleboyblue · 10/12/2008 21:31

Evening all.
Glad blood pressure's ok QK
I made another appointment at dr's for tomoz at 2.20pm, might leave home at about 11 to make sure I get there!!
Nothing exciting happening here, baby has been pretty quiet today so hoping this is the start of him running out of room and I might get a bit of piece! Any one else noticing a slowing down in the frequency of movement?
