Morning, hope everyone's feeling ok today.

How'd curry night go?

littleboyblue · 28/11/2008 08:06

And good luck today Swampy Xxxx

mslucy · 28/11/2008 08:23

good luck swampy, thinking of you.

Lucy xxxxxxx

mumoverseas · 28/11/2008 08:30

morning all, especially swampy, I will be thinking of you today and keeping my fingers crossed x
had a very bad night last night as DD not very well. Started with an ear infection and now she has a bad cold and chest infection. Insisted on sleeping with her arms wrapped around my neck and I had to have my arms around her. Needless to say every time I tried to move away she woke and the few times I got to sleep I was woken by her coughing. I guess the sleepless nights are good practice for February. I'm starting to wonder how Maggie Thatcher ran our country on an average of 4 hours sleep when I can't even think straight on that much!

littlesez · 28/11/2008 08:49

Hope it goes ok for you with the consultant swampy xxx

sorkycake · 28/11/2008 08:59

Did you not live through some of her decisions in the Eighties? Clearly she wasn't thinking very straight either!

I ordered my P&T last night and i'm rather pleased to be able to announce that my body is telling me to prepare for the baby coming....it's been missing since I found out I was pg.

In fact, even though the pg was planned, I didn't really acknowledge I was pg until about 22 weeks
So here I am teetering on 30 weeks and finally excited about the childs arrival I think that nesting at 5am yesterday was the kick-start.

We have a plan now me n Dh of what needs to happen if this labour is as fast as the last one and I rang my mum to request she take the kids if it's daytime labour. So we're getting there.

Without reading 30 odd pages what's Swampy seeing a Cons for? Nothing serious I hope?

KT1983 · 28/11/2008 09:05

Morning all, just thought id say have a lovely weekend everyone, Im heading up North today to spend the weekend with my Nan and Mum - im very excited, as ive not seen either of them for about 6months.

Were going to go shopping for baby things...so much fun

Im like you sorkycake - only just now kicking in that I actualy AM pregnant
10 weeks to go now & im really getting excited about it, very nervous, but soooo much to look forward too.
Roll on Fabulous Febuary

and before I sign off, not forgetting the Good Luck coming your way Swampy x

dinkystinky · 28/11/2008 09:07

Morning all. Lovely meeting some of the London ladies last night for curry - the curry was very yummy but MsLucy and Swampy were missed. Must arrange another meet up in January which hopefullly you'll be able to make.

Swampy - thinking of you today; sending you big hugs for the consultant appointment.

Sorkycake - Swampster had a bad scan result a couple of weeks back; she's off to see the consultant to try to find out what it means.

Mumoverseas - sorry to hear you had another awful night. The fact Maggie Thatcher only had 4 hours sleep a night certainly explained some of the decisions she made - like the Falklands War

Herbgarden -thanks for the link; they look perfect!

sorkycake · 28/11/2008 09:17

Ah! Thanks for that. I do hope it's good news

nkweto · 28/11/2008 09:31

Dinky Stinky, Thank you for arranging a lovely evening.. it was really nice put names to faces, it was great to meet you, Catstar & Eejaykay. I really enjoyed myself and if I chatted incessently, because I dont go out that often anymore.. apologies !

Dinky Stinky had loads of great advice on all sorts of topics, I will be emailing you re Sure Start and finding nanny shares if you don't mind !!

Swampy, MsLucy and all those in and about London, hope get to arrange another get together and get to meet you all..

givethedogbone.. we have the same due date! i have been on the Feb list as DS1 was so overdue, I can't imagine that LO2 will be any other than a Feb baby..

dinkystinky · 28/11/2008 09:39

You're more than welcome Givethedogabone. Forgot to say, MOS you were missed last night too! Nkweto - more than happy for you to email me (word of warning though - generally only check that email address once every couple of weeks so if I dont immediately reply am not ignoring you, honest!)

mumoverseas · 28/11/2008 09:41

dinky, glad you had a good time last night, so sad I missed out. Did have a ready meal curry at home but it wasn't the same!
I feel I must defend Maggie! Yes, she didn't make all good decisions but surely she did better than some of those numpties in power at the moment? (please don't flame me!!!!) doesn't anyone on here pay tax and NI? (slopes off to the am I being unreasonable thread!)

Went shopping last night, bought gorgeous little towelling newborn baby gros.

Then new buggy arrived this morning. DH tore the box open and tried it out in all of it's various forms.

I am sitting here quietly reflecting on this thought..........

OH SHIT I'M REALLY HAVING A BABY AREN'T I?

And breathe.......

All those ladies intending to hit the shops this weekend check out www.vouchercodes.co.uk - 30% off at Gap, 20% at Adams, 20% at selfridges etc.

Markstretch - it suddenly all becomes so real when you start collecting the baby gumph doesnt it?

MOS - each to their own re Maggie

eejaykay · 28/11/2008 11:34

Morning all, very lovely to meet the London curry ladies last night. It's true, dinky is as much a mine of informtion as she appears on here and as the only one there without a sprog yet I was busy taking in lots of info about birth and baby experiences (course you weren't too chatty Nkweto!). It'd be lovely to do it again in January.

Thanks too for good wishes, I'm fine today after a decent night's sleep and feel a bit sheepish compared to people who have real problems. Still - guilt is pointless and grumpy days are normal, but I'm very glad I have MN to keep a sense of perspective on things!

It's nearly the weekend, yay!

littleboyblue · 28/11/2008 11:44

You poor thing MoS and poor dd, hope she's better soon.

sorky this preg was planned too (ds's wasn't) and I'm still going between being excited about it and forgetting (until I look down)

Not much to say myself, just checking in to say hi as not been on in evenings (watching the Tudors on dvd and it's fab)
Dp's off work next week, so we'll get the last bits of crap in the loft (still from the move) and get ds's wardrobe and storage sorted and sift through all the little clothes with the plan to start washing in the new year.

mslucy · 28/11/2008 12:33

dinky - glad you had a good time last night.
like the Thatcher comment.
I can certainly relate to that after a 5:30 start this morning

chilledmama · 28/11/2008 13:25

I think politics are best avoided. I'm originally from Glasgow so really not a MT fan but, as a member of the Armed Forces, the Falklands Conflict is another matter altogether.

littleboyblue · 28/11/2008 14:00

Blardy tax credit people!! I could scream!!!!
That's it really. I'm about for a minute or so and then getting into bed while ds is sleeping.

dinkystinky · 28/11/2008 14:05

Wasnt dissing the armed forces Chilledmama - just pointing out that when suffering from sleep deprivation I'm pretty likely to be in a war-going mood....

LBB - hope you get those tax credits people licked into shape.

winemakesmummyclever · 28/11/2008 14:07

Hi to all the new ladies

Glad you London ladies had a good night last night. Dh is away, so bought myself a "curry for one" for dinner tonight .

Have finished the Xmas shopping - need to have a lie down now though. Gutted that dh has to work late last night, so no tree trimming for us until he gets home from the rugby on Sunday pm.

Sorky & MS - it still hasn't really sunk in here that another little fella is going to be here very soon. Our new pram arrives in Jan & will start the washing/nursery prep in the new year - it will begin to feel more real then, I think.

MOS - hope that you have managed to get some rest and that your dd is feeling a bit better.

Swampy - hope you & your family are as ok as you can be & that you can get some clarification from today's meeting. Take care of each other x.

MamaGoose · 28/11/2008 14:38

Hello all and hello to newbies

Just calling in to say hi and quick read up on what's going on. I finish work next week so am trying to cram about two months work into a week. I'll no doubt become an uber-regular on here once I start my maternity leave!

Am v jealous of the London meet - am in Spain which is fab but can be lonely. I go to a pregnancy yoga class and all the other mothers were swapping numbers and arranging to meet up except no-one bothers with me because I'm an extranjero (foreigner)

Swampy - good luck and thinking of you. x

xx
