LBB...

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 21:18

Sorry, yes will look now. Of course I won't say your name on here, not a complete numpty

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 21:32

OMG, just realised what I did! I am a numpty.

swampster · 20/11/2008 21:40

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 21:55

LOL You've given me a chuckle!

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 21:57

Tomorrow's another day to do another silly thing, no doubt! I'm due to lock myself out of the house, haven't done that this week.......hmm.
My early new years resolution is to engage my brain.

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 22:01

That's one of my favourites. My door is really insecure now, when I hurt myself that time my dad only pushed on it to get in!

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 22:12

Unfortunately, we live in a flat, so all the neighbours now know what I'm like as have to get someone else to buzz me in out of the cold and then wait on the stairs for dp to get home. I should give my neighbour a key really, but I won't.
Right, off to bed now. My book is calling me. Goodnight all.

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 22:41

I'm in a flat too, but the communal door is easy to get past - either on the postman's button or to just open the lock. You can guarantee that we will both forget our keys on the same day! I don't use my crutches around the house, I prop them by the door and I've started hanging my keys from them. Mum keeps saying we need to leave a set with them, but it's the money! We have 4 keys and it works out nearly £20

KT1983 · 21/11/2008 07:36

Morning all,
Thanks for all your comments last night - Just sat at home waiting for a call from Hospital with my appointment time.
Hope you all have a good Friday.
Any snow for anyone yet?

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 07:42

Is it gonna snow? Where? How exciting!!
You'll be ok KT and so will baby, it's good they're acting on the safe side. I have to battle very hard with my health care team to get anything done.

KT1983 · 21/11/2008 07:48

Well I just watched the news & aparently all over the country - Starting today & over the weekend.

Am so looking forward to being seen today & making sure she is all ok. Sitting & waiting around is horrible....and on top of that , my work seem to think I make stuff like this up to get time off..

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 07:52

Oh KT, it is horrible when there is worry like this.
It also seems that with alot of people, if it hasn't happened to them, it doesn't happen. My friend has been telling me how dramatic her sister has been, she's 34 weeks, and I have to keep telling her to stop being so selfish as she has no idea what it's like and then I get patronising.
When I m/c the first time, I requested some time off work and my boss (female) told me to stop being silly and just get on with it! I had to get a note from the hosital and then when I returned after 2 weeks, she didn't talk to me for a week. Bitch.
Don't worry about work, or all that doubt you, small problem in the grand scheme of the world.

KT1983 · 21/11/2008 08:00

That is a Super Bitch as a Boss!!!

I called my boss last night & all he had to say was make sure you get proof that you were at the hospital.
Perhaps im just over sensetive, but seemed a bit off to me.

Well, im off to feed up this little baby...see if I cant make her grow some more with some wheatabix & toast!

Think that's just men, wouldn't take that to heart, it's just lady issues that make men uncomfortable I would think

spottyshoes · 21/11/2008 08:44

After 2 m/c's when I told my female boss I was pg with DS she said "well lets see if this one sticks first shall we ". My male boss said "again [scared face]" Tossers

Yay snow! I didn't know it was coming but I ordered DS a snowsuit which came yesterday so I'm chuffed!

Hope you get your appt soon KT

Have a good day all. Off to see the invalid mother.

dinkystinky · 21/11/2008 08:46

KT - hope all goes well at the scan today and your mind is put at rest.

LBB - what a horrible boss! Honestly, some people have no idea how to be human...

Hmm, snow - that could be amusing as we're meant to be going down to my MIL's in Brighton tomorrow for the day and setting back off early on the Sunday back to London so we can get DS in to see Santa at Selfridges (I know, its ridiculously early but late afternoon slots in November were the only weekend slots left! At least with all the snow round, DS will feel like its christmassy )

mumoverseas · 21/11/2008 08:49

morning all, hope all goes ok this morning KT. You do know however that you have made a HUGE mistake by saying you've only put on 5lb! I said that 2 weeks ago as I'd only put on around 6lb since June. (felt very smug for the first time every about my weight!) However, weighed myself yesterday morning and have put on 7lb in the last week! (how heavy are pigs?)
Hope everyone has a good day today x

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 09:00

I know, some people. How awful for you spotty too. If only they knew, hey.

Anyway, moving on from the morbid stuff. On the other end of the scale KT with ds, I put on just under 5st. Yes, that is not a typo, I went choclate fudge cake mad, and the result was people asking me if I'd had the baby yet when I was pushing the buggy, and only having contractions lasting 20 seconds.
The les weight you put on now, the less work you'll have to do after.

Running so late this morning. Need to be out the door now, and ds isn't even dressed.
Catch ya later

dinkystinky · 21/11/2008 09:03

My MIL put on just over a stone when she was pregnant with DH - she ate icecream and candy floss through out that pregnancy. When she was pregnant with his sister, she put on 4 stone - and all she ate was her body weight in plums. Go figure!

Just to let all you curry lovers out there know, national curry week apparently starts this weekend so most fitting that virtually everyone will be having a curry on Thursday night

Cocodrillo - have you finished Twilight now? I have the other 3 books in the series if you'd like to borrow them (you'll have to excuse the drool marks of course )

winemakesmummyclever · 21/11/2008 09:28

Morning,

Glad to see you are feeling a wee bit better about things KT. It's good to see you have a pro-active care team - so many people don't in the lovely NHS lottery. Hope it all works out ok for you.

LBB - did your boss have kids? I'm presuming not by how awful she was. My old boss was always awful with pg women. She is still the same apparently - refusing a carer's day if someone's child is ill (seriously ill in hospital I mean, not just home with a bug), criticising anyone who gets pregnant (you can kiss any promotion/advanced responsibility goodbye for a couple of years), and repeat offenders (i.e. mums with more than one child) went beyond the pale as far as she was concerned. It's as if female emancipation and discriminatory laws have passed her by!

TBM - good to see you back. FWIW, I agree with your FB statement for all the same reasons. Your friend appears to be a bit of a muppet if they read that and cannot understand where you are coming from. But not getting into that now.

dinky - think I'll have to go for the ice cream & candy floss diet as I have put nearly a stone on already .

winemakesmummyclever · 21/11/2008 09:31

Pah - just checked BBC weather. No snow forecast here . I live ON the Pennines ffs - they are bloody big hills, why aren't we having snow?

Questionkid · 21/11/2008 10:01

I'm off to Brighton tomorrow for the day and I'm praying for snow - snow on the beach would be fab!

I just travelled into work on the tube with my DH, which very rarely happens. We got on at the end of the line so no problems getting a seat there. After about 7 stops I noticed that there was a pregnant lady standing at the other end of the row of seats from us, with a lovely big pregant tummy very pointedly sticking out and a baby on board badge clearly displayed - and as always she was being completely ignored. I pointed her out to my DH, who jumped up, strode up to her and said to her very loudly so that no one could fail to hear 'Go and sit next to my pregnant wife!'. He looked so proud, both of the fact that he'd been able to offer her a seat, but also that he'd been able to announce to the whole tube carriage that he had a pregnant wife, that I got a bit of a tear in my eye. Bless.

spottyshoes · 21/11/2008 10:07
