Thanks for all messages. Very much appreciated.

I can add to FB - just email [email protected] and convince me that you deserve to be there...

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 16:13

swampster, we've got people requesting to join the other group then I add them to my friends and forward them on to one of you three (me being an admin would be easier ). I sent the last one on to MS as you two are both having such a bad time I wasn't sure who would be around, maybe I should just send them to all three then first one to add them can do it.

I wish I could make it down to London, TBD is taking Tink this weekend to see the boys and I have to stay behind. Not really looking forward to it, I tripped on the potty this morning and can hardly walk, I've been living on chocolate and donuts all day as we have no milk and I can't get to the shop like this. I normally go to my parents at the weekends but I have an antenatal class on Sunday morning not far from here and Mum is going to her parents, so it makes sense for me to stay at home.

dinkystinky · 20/11/2008 16:42

MoS - you'd be most welcome. 6.30 - Malabar Junction (see www.malabarjunction.com for address) - nearest tube Tottenham Court Road.

Swampy - glad you're still on line.

TBM - those stealth-potties are lethal. Quite like the idea of a chocolate and donut diet though Longlife milk for emergencies may be the way forward ..get TBD or your mum to stock you up...

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 17:06

Just scanned through to catch up on the day. Good to see you back TBM, there was a support message for you saying how sad it would be to not see you on here as your advice and support to others had been amazing. Don't know what happened, haven't seen any other threads, but whatever it was glad you could come back. Xxx

So sorry to hear that the scans brought some unexpected news swampster and mrsy.

I'd say I'd join you all for the curry next week as would be fantastic to put faces to names, but money's a bit tight, but definately next time. I'll have curry here for my dinner in honour!

dinkystinky · 20/11/2008 17:09

LBB - if next Thursday is a success (which I will be judging it as if we dont all get wedged in the restaurant after feeding the bumps curries) will try and organise something in the new year - either before or after babies arriving. V pleased to hear about all those joining the curry meet up in spirit - will raise a chapati to the Fab Feb curry and cake club!

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 17:12

Haha dinky, I can just see it, a bunch of fat, farting ladies stuck in their seats!! I'm sure people look at me and think "How did she ever find anyone to shag her?" Hahahaha

Will def attend next one, once xmas is over and we've got beds and pushchairs sorted and got some cash spare again.

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 17:32

LBB are you on facebook? Other than the things I mentioned in my first message today my status message on FB is what started it off Tuesday.

Dinky, it was in the middle of the living room! Tink brought it in yesterday but I can't pick it up to take back. I don't know how I didn't miss it! TBD is going to get some milk on his way home, he was really worried when I told him, I waited until he was on his way home as he's been in training today and I didn't want to worry him. He doesn't normally stress like that, but he must realise now how much pain I'm in so when I said I could hardly walk (he wanted me to meet him for dinner) he was worried. I like the donuts and chocolate diet too I'm actually not getting any heartburn today!

We'll have to try and arrange something closer to The Midlands next time! I'm trying to arrange a night out for December if anyone is interested, it's in meet ups.

KT1983 · 20/11/2008 17:57

Hi all, I need a little bit of reassurance please...?

Ive just been to the midwife who was concered about baby not growing right, im still very small & im measuring at 25 and a bit instead of 28+.

She is sending me for a scan tomorrow - Im so worried now that she is not growing right & that iv been doing something wrong? Not eating enough? too much exercise etc??

Will she be ok????

mumoverseas · 20/11/2008 18:16

KT, please try not to worry. I've read so many things over the last few weeks (on here and in other articles) about the sizes of our little ones, in particular the measuring of the fundthing height and it appears that it is really only a guesstimate. I was measured last week before I left Saudi at being at least a week or two over dates and today was normal. Looking at my chart, some weeks was a week or so behind. Really think a lot depends on what position little one is in, ie lying across or sitting up etc.
YOU HAVE NOT BEEN DOING ANYTHING WRONG! I'm sure your little one will be ok and that the scan tomorrow is just a precaution. Try not to worry x

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 18:21

KT, it won't be anything you've done or are doing. My baby isn't growing properly either and they've found there is a notch in my Doppler, which means that the blood is flowing back towards my heart during a beat which stops the oxygenated blood getting to the baby so she's not getting all the oxygen and nutrients she should from each beat of blood.

They will monitor you and see if there is a reason or how accurate the measurements are. If the baby continues to not grow properly they could consider her out early because it will increase her chances - but I'm not a doctor and I don't know what's going on with you so don't take it that I'm saying that's what will happen, it could be the measurements are out.

KT1983 · 20/11/2008 18:24

Thanks MOS - I know I have also read alot on here about the fundal height thing being inaccurate.
Its hard not to worry when they book you for a scan so quickly.
Thing is, iv only put on about 5 lbs so far, so hoping that she really IS growing ok.

Thanks for the reassurance, il keep you posted on how it goes tomorrow.

In the meantime...FOOD!! ive just had your fav for tea...Bacon sandwich!

KT1983 · 20/11/2008 18:27

Thanks Tink - Im hoping she is just lying in a funny position or something...
I know the midwives are only doing their job, which im very thankful for, but she really worried me booking me in so soon.

Oh, I do hope she is ok

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 19:08

No problem, you're probably right, they'll do a scan and tell you she's massive

I just read back what I wrote and must have been typing too fast because I was missing words out all over the place

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 19:59

TBM, I am on FB, but I'm not in the secret society

KT, pregnancy and everything it brings has got to be the most worrying time doesn't it? Even more so I think than being a parent because you can't see what's going on iykwim.
Unfortunately, pregnancy and the female body is such a complex system that apparently (I've heard) that the medical profession actually know very little about it all.
As we were all saying the other day regarding size, it seems to be popular belief (at least with us) that it's all aload of c**p and they just make it up as they go along. But, even if your baby is on the small side at the moment, doesn't mean it'll stay that way, and it's def not your fault.
The only result of over eating thru preg is gaining too much weight and having your uterus underperforming (says my mw) and the exercise keeps your body in shape for the big day.

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 20:07

LBB search for mumsnet and you will find a Februray group come up with only one member, request to join and I'll sort you out.

MamaGoose · 20/11/2008 20:13

KT1983 - don't worry. You need a scan to check but as others have said it may just be the position of th baby. Week before last I was measuring 23cm at 28wks (cue sobbing by me on street outside clinic). Got scanned a few days later to be told baby was absolutely fine - it's alreday head down with half its head in my pelvis so meauring my tummy (which is actually what they're measuring when they do the fundal thing) is completely inaccurate on me.

dinkystinky · 20/11/2008 20:15

KT - please try not to stress out too much. You may have a deep lying uterus which is why you're not showing much at present (one of my friends was pregnant at the same time as me when I was pregnant with DS - she was tiny but still gave birth to a 8lber) - and the amount of weight you put on isnt a guarantee of a big/small/average size baby (if is any consolation, you are apparently spot on for the weight gain guidance in Japan where they frown on pregnant women if they gain more than around 10lbs according to a japanese client I was speaking today - glad am not in japan! They may mistake me for godzilla at this rate )

The scan will hopefully put your mind at rest - will keep my fingers crossed that it goes ok - and hey, look on the bright side, you'll get to see your lovely little one inside you again.

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 20:26

Tink Found the group and hit the request to join button, didn't get confirmation that my request had been sent or anything. Says closed group and have to be invited. Let me know if I did it right.

TinkerBellesMum · 20/11/2008 20:28

I've got it. You'll get a friends suggestion for the admin of the main group then one of them will add you.

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 20:33

Ok, great. Thank you.

littleboyblue · 20/11/2008 20:40

Okey-doke

winemakesmummyclever · 20/11/2008 20:49

Oh no, not a bad scan for mrsy too. Really hope that she & her dp are ok and getting the help and support that they need right now. My thoughts are with you and with Swampy x.

KT - try not to worry too much. These things are guides, not hard and fast rules. Your mw is just erring on the side of caution by sending you for a scan. Hope things work out ok for you.

Have had that vomiting bug all week. Really fancy a curry for tea now. There are some leftovers in the fridge but dh has put lime pickle on it - bleuurrgghh! Shall have to make do with the spag bol I cooked, though I don't fancy it now (typical )

Will check in later in the week - hope everyone else is ok.

swampster · 20/11/2008 21:13

Have sent you a friend request on FB LLB - don't say my name on here, please.
