hey new thread! - great title!

My boobs are quite big anyway but now they are just unmanageable and awful - too big for any cleavage showing clothes

Have MW apt next week - lookin forward to hearing the heartbeat.

Get terrible pounding headaches - right from when I wake up get worse on exersion. My BP is okay and no swelling so I'm not too concerned, just irritated (am I wrong? should I be concerned?)

Am currently resisting the urge to have a 3rd tomato juice with lea and perrins. I REALLY want another but dont think its fair on the poor wee baby's liver!

Carameli · 30/10/2008 19:32

Hi Kitty, I am going to be in Epsom but not until 28th. I am in Ashtead where are you? This is my 3rd but 1st time in Epsom but at least we get to actually have a tour of it beforehand. I was never allowed at Kingston.

LuLuBai · 30/10/2008 19:50

Hi evening and welcome all new people. KittyCat8 I am sort of in Surrey. Richmond - never sure whether that is Surrey or London (limbo more like!). I'll be at Kingston hospital.

Staryeyed - your not the only one who seems to be making a 'habit' of having April babies. My DD will be 2 on April 2 and Puzzlerocks has a DD who will be turning 2 around the same time her next is born.

Can't speak for Puzzlerocks, but my wedding anniversary is 2 July. What does that tell you about my sex life?

LuLuBai · 30/10/2008 19:52

Oh SalbySea if you like spicy tomato juice you should try BigTom. OMG it's yummy. But if I buy a bottle (about a litre) I have to drink the whole thing. Only ever seen it in off licences so you may want to stock up before your bump gets too big for you to be seen dead in an offy.

conkertree · 30/10/2008 19:56

my goodness its been a chatty evening. hi to all the newbies. can't believe how big our list is - guess there was something in the water in July/August.

Just enjoying sitting on the sofa watching Eastenders. Suppose I should get up and tidy the sitting room but the sofa is sooo comfy.

OddEyes · 30/10/2008 22:20

Evening ladies, can't keep up again!
Welcome to all newbies, went back through thread to see when last I welcomed folk and there have been so many of you I won't name you all, but glad to have you join us.

I am still ill think food poisoning has left me run down and now have the worst chest infection, so am a grump still - I want a day off but ds has it too!
Worst thing is I wee myself everytime I cough, I normally have good control but they are such violent coughing fits I can't help it.
The whole park witnessed an attack yesterday: huge cough attack - evryone turns round; then me legs together and squeeze not yet realising everyone watching-just thinking 'pants!' (literally); then run off to the toilet . came back to my friend laughing at the whole episode, we left quickly!
Doc gave me antibiotics to start on Saturday if still bad, had the same with ds for 6 weeks at same time last time so maybe best to nip in bud, can't do that again. Had amassed multiple courses of antibiotics, lots of xrays and radioactive injections by term with ds and he perfect so not really that worried (hope you feeling ok on yours springy).

OddEyes · 30/10/2008 22:27

boobs vs bump: both huge but bump winning. boobs have grown painfully in last few days and are now all veiny and have darker and bigger areolas, also producing colostrum. Am 17 weeks today but look 20 weeks +. Yay for bumps!

tartetatin · 31/10/2008 05:56

Another newbie here...been reading threads for a while and have finally got around to introducing myself...expecting my fourth on 25 April. I'm having my family like the Queen - in two halves; they are 16,14,2 (the unplanned one) and little bump.
And seeing as a comment on boob size seems to be obligatory - not much going on there unfortunately! After an initial growth spirt they seem to have calmed down. Shame..

Bubbaluv · 31/10/2008 08:02

Welcome TarteT, I'm sure your family will be much more successful than the Queen's! I think 4 is a great number for a family, but will have to wait and see if I have the stamina! I was sitting around a table the other day with about 12 people, and all but 3 of us came from families with 4 children - I must be attracted to people with multiple siblings!?

OddEyes · 31/10/2008 09:15

I come from 4. Similar age combo to yours tarte: now 40,38,30,27 -funny how age diff disappears with age. i loved having big brothers Welcome by the way

KittyCat8 · 31/10/2008 09:16

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!

Hi carameli!

I'm down near the station in Ashtead - nice & close to Tesco's for late-night ice-cream cravings...

We're house shopping at the moment though, so will be moving soon... gotta get a few more bedrooms now that we're grownups... we're sticking to Ashtead & surrounds cos I don't feel like changing hospitals, Epsom seems pretty good to me!!

Swaliswan · 31/10/2008 09:20

Oooooooooooooo, I have a due-date buddy! Welcome Tartetatin! Mmmmmmmmmmmm, tartetatin with ice-cream.........Sorry!

Anyway, I'm not sure that I want to comment on the inadequacy of my boobs atm. Bloated tummy is definitely bigger than boobs but I'm sure that this will change. My boobs were the first thing to get stretchmarks when pg with DD I've been producing colostrum for weeks now but I think that may be because I didn't stop BFing DD until I was 8 weeks pg.

I spoke to work today and told that hyperemesis is improving lots but they still think that I should have another week off because I'm still having bad days. They pointed out that I will be expected to assist in theatre as soon as I'm back from sick leave and it's not fair on the patients if I have to leave to throw up. I'm feeling relieved and just hoping that my GP will agree when I see him later. We're off to centerparcs the week after next for our first family holiday so that should help me to feel better

Kalikaroo · 31/10/2008 09:31

Hi to all newbies! Crikey - quite a posting-fest yesterday!

tristaleejac I have an anterior placenta too and haven't really felt much yet (I'm 18 weeks today). Really looking forward to feeling kicks etc since it makes me a bit paranoid that I can't feel anything yet! (Just daft I know...)

Oddeyes You mentioned that you were getting colostrum - I think I might be too, but didn't want to say anything because I thought it must be far too soon. Probably TMI , but often when I wake up I have a kind of crustiness on my nips - is that colostrum??? (or just some weird pregnancy symptom...?)

Hope you all have a good day today!

frekkles · 31/10/2008 09:40

hello hello, i had another scan yesterday which was lovely. not sure if i didn't see a touch of bollock on the scan photo, although i don't really want to know so shalala

i think i've felt bambino few times know. It's like a little knocking feeling between my lady bits and my belly button. happens when i'm lying still in bed, either just waking up or just going to sleep.

conkertree · 31/10/2008 10:02

lol at the scan sighting freckle. good that you saw lots- even if it was too much.

kalikaroo - that sounds like the colostrum is starting - happened just like that last time round and I thought it was a bit early. You might want to get some breast pads in - cause the next stage is leaking milk and if it happens at work when you are not expecting it, it can be mighty embarrassing. I found the really thin ones from tommy tippy were the best cause you couldnt see them under clothes.

Jumbs · 31/10/2008 10:19

Morning, and welcome to the newbies!

Tristalee - I have anterior placenta too and haven't felt much movement yet. It does make me feel a bit nervous as I was definately getting more movements at this stage last pg, didn't have anterior placenta with that one. 20wk scan on 10 Nov so might feel a bit happier after that.

Boobs - mine were big to begin with and are huge now. OH is loving it and worringly DS has started pulling my tops down and putting things in my cleavage, yesterday it was banana! Not sure it is appropriate behaviour for a 16mth old!

Does everyone else's bump grow with the day? I start of not that big but look about 6mths by bedtime!

OddEyes · 31/10/2008 10:31

try again, see what you think: www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2008/oct/31/women-pregnancy-alchohol-birth-defects

BellaMummy · 31/10/2008 10:33

Oddeyes - I just had to post because I have had a really heavy cold with lots of coughing and a bit of wee keeps escaping. I wasn't very good with pelvic floor exercises with dd (God, I wish I had done them 1000 times every day - first timers take note!!) and I am trying to do them every day. All day! LOL!

I think I have been missed off the list - could I be added please? I am due on the same day as Springy, 11 April. This is my second, dd is 2+2.

Is anyone else struggling to eat well? All I want to do is eat toast. I'm really struggling to eat fruit and veges since I got ill, and I don't really have much appetite. So much for eating for 2!

Bubbaluv · 31/10/2008 10:38

I actually don't know anyone IRL who totally stopped drinking during pregnancy. I certainly don't feel like drinking much, but don't mind the odd glass of wine with a meal. I don't know anyone who's baby has any form of fetal alchol syndrome either.

BellaMummy · 31/10/2008 10:38

OddEyes, that article is so interesting. More conflicting advice, though. It's so confusing isn't it?

I actually haven't felt like drinking anything this pregnancy, but I went out for dinner last night and I had a splash of red wine at the bottom of my glass with my main course. Really enjoyed it too!

I might have the very occasional half glass of wine, but I imagine it will be once a month rather than one/two units a week.
What is everyone else doing? Abstaining completely or drinking lightly on occasion??

BellaMummy · 31/10/2008 10:42

X-posted with you bubbaluv! I agree - I was with two friends last night - one also pregnant, one with a new baby - and they have been having a glass or two per week.

In Australia (where I'm from) it is really frowned upon and women are told to abstain - so my sisters tell me - and I was in the States earlier in my pregnancy and they are REALLY ani-drinking in pregnancy. I saw a sign up in one New York restaurant, behind the bar, saying that they didn't serve anyone intoxicated or pregnant!?

Swaliswan · 31/10/2008 10:47

My GP told me to drink lightly as he believes that it is good for pregnancy. I understand that they don't know how much alcohol is too much but I did drink very lightly with DD on occassion and it hasn't done her any harm. Was planning a night in with DH tonight and really felt like having a small glass of red (even if it does being on the sickness). I think I might just do that now [rebellious emoticon]

Bubbaluv · 31/10/2008 10:48

Bella, I'm from Aus too and would have said the opposite!
