Have added myself back on to the list (hope it adheres to Mrsy's format ). Have been so busy with uni work that I haven't had time to catch my breath, let alone MN (though have tried to keep up to date here & on FB).

MS - hope everything is ok with you and the MW can give you some reassurance soon.

Was hoping to keep attending uni until end of Jan, but pgp getting worse all the time - like TBM I have a pre-existing back problem that really isn't helping matters at the mo. Am going to see how it goes after Xmas. Feeling v miserable, sleep deprived, limping and sore, so cannot wait for Feb to arrive.

Hope everyone else is ok and getting along fine. Will try to keep up with you guys

Questionkid · 11/11/2008 10:25

What's the latest MS? Have you spoken to a midwife? I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and just a recurrence of what you've had before but definitely worth getting yourself looked at. Keep us informed, will be thinking of you.

MarkStretch · 11/11/2008 10:31

I'm still waiting for them to ring. I've not gone to work.

My team of midwives have an answerphone which they check between 8am and 9am and then call people back but the other day they rang me back at 3pm!

So I'm not sure if I should ring back or just wait?

Good news is the bleeding is tailing off now.

littlesez · 11/11/2008 10:31

Ive added myself to the list even though i've not been a regular poster, am working from home part of the time now so will try to keep up.
Dinkystinky a lawyer wow, wish i had a proper job! Im a dance teacher its hard work, good fun but the pay is absolute crap!

hello all, having a stressful few days here, had physio yesterday which involved droppping kids to my parents 45 mins away, driving another 45 mins to hospital, physio appointment, running around doing xmas shopping while i was in town anyway, driving back at dusk, pit stop for coffee at my dads shop, back to get whingey kids, driving home in the dark and not getting in until stupidly late... and didn i mention it was raining and gale force winds through all that?

ended up letting the kids sleep til 9am this morning as i felt bad for them having such a long day yesterday and managed to be ready to get out the door by 9.30, only to find my car keys had done a disappearing act! i always put them straight in my bag when i get in as we have no spares adn no master key to copy from but i was so flustered last night i must have just dumped them somewhere. spent half an hour searching and eventually found them on dp's armchair under the cushion...... even weirder because noone sat on that chair last night dd was so late for playschool the doors were locked and my head has started pounding.

on the plus side picked up a cheap baby monitor while i was shopping and now have yet another support belt for my back which seems alot less restrictive than the so might actually get some use.

on the down side i've been given out to about lifting and carrying and told if i keep carrying ds i risk doing serious damage.... try telling that to ds who's favourite phrase right now is 'upwithyou, upwithyou, upwithyou' while wrapping himself around my legs so i can't move he's too little to understand when i try and explain how much it hurts mommy to carry him and gets really hysterical if i refuse.... not sure what to do really.

Questionkid · 11/11/2008 10:37

I'm still sure it's nothing to worry about, but I'd ring back if I were you, specially as it's taken that long to get back to you before. Otherwise you'll potentially be sat there worrying all day. Nothing wrong with phoning to make sure they've definitely got the message.

PinkTulips · 11/11/2008 10:38

MS..... hadn't read through before my self involved ramble

hope you get throught to them soon, hopefully it's nothing serious like last time... fingers crosssed for you.

MarkStretch · 11/11/2008 10:40

I might ring back but I think I'll just get that message saying they check the answerphone again! It's so frustrating. The only other thing I can do is to ring the Out of Hours number and get one on call, but it seems silly to do that when it's stopped anyway.

I'm worried about wasting their time!

Pink it sounds like you had a nightmare day!

Questionkid · 11/11/2008 10:58

Never worry about wasting their time, it's what they're there for. Try ringing the normal number again and see what happens - leave another message if necessary. Then if you haven't heard back still within say, an hour or so, then try the out of hours number. All you need is to be able to speak to someone to put your mind at rest, they're not going to tell you off for that.

I repeat, however, I'm sure this is nothing to be worrying about and it will all be fine.

MarkStretch · 11/11/2008 11:07

Thanks QK, I might give them another ring now.

Questionkid · 11/11/2008 11:11

Sorry, I just released I sounded a bit military life with my 'I repeat' in my last post! I'm not scary really...

MarkStretch · 11/11/2008 11:17

Roger. All received. Over.

MarkStretch · 11/11/2008 11:17

Have rung and got the answerphone again.

I dunno, I come up with a good system to make sure the top and bottom aren't missed off and it gets dropped next post
TinkerBellesMum · 11/11/2008 11:24

PT, I get the same with Tink, I'm often trying to walk on one crutch so I can hold her or I go shopping with me holding the trolley because she won't let anyone else push her (just glad she's so small) but it just reinforces to me why I can't have her home

I have her here Wednesdays because that's our day when she doesn't go the CM and we go to Mum's group in the morning then alternate weeks I have a hospital appointment and she goes into creche. Mum has said I can only have her for Mum's group if someone can pick me up and drop me off (we're talking 100 yards!) because if she fell, ran off, had a tantrum or wanted to be picked up I'd be stuck. Fortunately the hospital send a taxi for me and I know them all so well now that they'll take her down the stairs for me if she's being difficult.

Questionkid · 11/11/2008 11:30

MS - I hate answerphones! I think you should assess how worried you are. If you're feeling ok about it, happy that it's stopped and are happy that it's just more of what you had before then wait for them to call back. If you're really worried, try and get hold of someone else.

I think you'd be ok to wait for the call, but best to decide for yourself.

nadssss · 11/11/2008 11:30

MS ? I am so sorry for you ? I am going for my anti-D?s this week and have been worried about having a bleed/fall before that. Thinking of you and thinking bad thoughts about the stupid answer phone. I wonder if 6 weeks is what they say is the cover to be safe ? it will probably last longer than this. Hope all goes well.

DS ? thanks so much for this news ? how exciting ? I am looking forward to the private room and the birth pool etc (coupled with total dread when reading the thread about the most painful bit of childbirth! Am being haunted by the word ?crowning?) ? I?m not going to worry.

nadssss, just think positive. I confused them in Liverpool because I kept saying "I'm not in pain" because I refuse to think I am, yes it hurts but just keep reminding yourself it only lasts a few seconds then you'll feel fine until it happens again. Convincing yourself it's not that bad is one of the best things you can do. Whilst you're thinking "I'm in pain!!!" Your body will respond to your messages, you'll release adrenalin which slows things down and makes it more painful.

TBM ? you are very wise and brave! I am absolutely going to do the visualisation and the pretending not to be in pain thing. Really glad your little one is staying put for the minute!

TinkerBellesMum · 11/11/2008 11:56

Thanks, I'm not sure about it though

Your body will respond to how you think, if you're telling yourself it's not that bad it won't take the pain away (pain is good and it tells you how things are going or if there's a problem) but it won't make it worse than it should be or slow things down. Sitting on the toilet also helps as you naturally relax and open your pelvic floor muscles up.

I found it all out naturally because I didn't know I could possibly be in labour, I just kept thinking "I can't let this hurt because I have to do labour soon!" and I'd been told I had a UTI so I went to the toilet when it hurt. With Tink I knew I was in labour but thought they were going to stop it so didn't want to let it get to me because that would freak me out for the real thing.

I'm glad too, just wish the contractions would go! I've been told there's not more than 4 weeks left now. I'm just glad she keeps going head down and I'm hoping that having contractions for so long will encourage her to stay that way.

RIGHT! I got pissed off waiting and rang delivery suite (cautiously and apologetically).

They said to go in at 3pm to be checked over and to get the anti-d as they said I'm not covered at the moment. I was very about ringing them but the lovely midwife said me and baby are too precious and I should get checked over even though it's probably nothing.

So I feel relieved now and will report back later!

mrsy · 11/11/2008 12:24

MS don't worry about bothering them - they are there to reassure you and advise you on what to do - you are not a trained midwife and they are!

calico - I can check my emails to see if the message has come through, but can't access Facebook at work, so will sort it out at home tonight...

Oooh and I get to see delivery suite- my first time in this hospital!
