Apologies everyone but either I have OCD or just too much time on my hands, and I had to standardise the format of the list !

The apostrophes were driving me nuts!

MS - yes they told me DS2 was a girl when I had my scan. The sonographer told me 'It's a burger rather than a hotdog' . She was eastern european and so it may have lost a little in the translation, but I did say, "do you mean it's a girl" and she said said 'yes' so I had no reason to doubt. They do get it wrong sometimes.

Rosy - DS3 was born at home in 45 mins from me waking up with a contraction. Scarily quick. My midwife has phoned me to tell me that due to staff shortages that homebirth's ahve been put on hold at the moment in our area, but always the pragmatist, he has also said that as I'm unlikely to get to hospital, I might as well just stay at home and he'll do his best to come. Very reassuring ?!?

dinkystinky · 10/11/2008 16:25

AArgh, tis a disaster - we now have 3 separate lists going on... this is America's list with me on it

Anyone who wants to take responsibility for making sure the right list is updated, please do so.....

OP posts:
america · 10/11/2008 16:26

Laidback...did he manage to be there on time? I had a very long first stage with DS1 and am secretly hoping that the second time would be a lot quicker. Not sure I want a homebirth though and if timing goes wrong and we try to get to the hospital during the rush hour it is likely to be a nightmare...

america · 10/11/2008 16:28

Ups, my apologies dinky!

LittleMissNorty · 10/11/2008 16:28

I agree - someone needs to take responsibility - and probably on another thread within the AN topic!

MrsY....?

TinkerBellesMum · 10/11/2008 16:39

Spotty, driving is not going to help your SPD, make sure you?re putting a carrier bag on your seat and swivelling in/ out with your knees together.

Neeerly3, could be growing pains, PGP, BH, baby catching just the right place when kicking, over doing it. You?re right that constant pain means it?s less likely to be labour. Have you mentioned it to your MW? Do you have a plan in case of early signs of labour? Usually Triage will see you to relieve your fears if you are prone to prematurity.

I?ve had my second class today and been told I don?t have more than four weeks left. Glad someone is being honest with me! I?m still having contractions, the longest I go is an hour, sometimes it?s half an hour but not as often as it was last week. I?ve decided that as they can?t stop it I?m not going in again till we get to 5 minutes, I?m hoping by leaving it longer I will have a better chance to VBAC. Something else that I was told today is (as has been said to me before) I won?t be able to have an epidural because of the mess my back is in so a CS will mean another GA which I really want to avoid.

Laidbackinengland, DC4, due 23.01.09 (age 34, North Devon)
TinkerBellesMum, DD3, due 01.01.09 (age 27, Birmingham, not expecting to get far into December)
Questionkid, DC1, due 3.2.09 (Age 33, Wallington, Surrey)
Swampster, DS3, due 6.2.09 (Age 40 , London)
Rosieposey, DC4 (1st boy) due 6.2.09 (actual due date 21.2.09 but having an ECS on 6th)(age 36,Swindon,Wiltshire)
MarkStretch, DC2 (a boy) due 7/2/08 (Age 29, Norwich)

TinkerBellesMum · 10/11/2008 16:41

Oh dear, there are a few cross posts there! That's why I normally refresh before I post.

dinkystinky · 10/11/2008 16:50

New idea - how about we give warning now to everyone that if they havent posted by the end of this thread (so a week or so's time) on the thread - they will be suspended from the list when we start the new thread (and added back on when they return)?

That way when we do the new thread we can split list into 2 - regular posters and those being suspended due to inactivity?

Avoid chaos, non??

And America - no need to apologise hon - real time posting is a recipe for disaster!

Also, MrsY, apologies for volunteering you for list compiling duties - its just that I know that people who get annoyed about . vs / are ALWAYS the best people to put in control!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 10/11/2008 16:53

And those who get annoyed about apostrophes are EVEN BETTER to put in control

OP posts:
DizzyBrummie · 10/11/2008 16:57

It was the different date formats that was driving me mad but then the people that I work with think I'm slightly OCD anyway

Sorry, not a regular poster (my life isn't interesting enough) but I do linger to read when I can.

dinkystinky · 10/11/2008 17:01

Dizzy - bet your life is way more exciting than you give it credit for! And simply by admitting to lurking you'd avoid suspension under the alternative proposal - result

OP posts:

blimmey, its starting to sound a little like being at school again!
I'm far to scared/IT retarded to add myself without buggering up the nice pretty lists so whoever volunteers/is lumbered can they please add me??? DC4 (a boy apparently which will give me 2 of each) due 28.2.09 but will be c section 2 to 3 weeks early. Age almost 41 (boo hoo!) Live Saudi Arabia/Crawley West Sussex.
Hope everyone ok apart from the usual pregnancy crap and Rosieposey, hope your wedding goes well and you have a wonderful happy day.
