Hi, I'm also on the June thread but officially my due date would be 4th July 2009 so thought I'd better set up a thread for all these summer babies.

Got 3 BFP's yesterday although technically I am only 3+2 weeks. Would love to symptom spot with fellow early testers. Surely there must be more of us out there !! I can't be the first

QueenFee I am really paranoid about twins as I believe the risk increases with how many pregnancy's you have had

mavornia · 23/11/2008 20:58

o, i'm worried about twins too, especially as dh's realtives keep informing me that my next pregnancy will be twins because ds has a double crown in his hair (no need for scans in egypt - your inlaws are the font of all knowledge

mickeylou, to say the in-laws are overbearing would be putting it mildly. mil called round today because ds had a temperature. The conversation went as follows:

MIL: He's thirsty, give him a drink
Me: he just had a big drink of water

MIL: Put some cream on that mosquito bite, it's itching him
Me: I've already put cream on it and it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all

MIL: Don't give him pasta, give him rice
Me: Well i've just prepared pasta and that will be fine for him

MIL: I've just kissed him and his temperature has come down
Me: I don't think so
MIL: Check it and see, you'll see I'm right
Me: it's actually half a degree higher [after checking]
MIL: whatever

and that was her being very well behaved

when we told the I was pregnant her very first response was "i told you so, didn't i say you were"

hobnob57 · 23/11/2008 21:16

mavornia your life cracks me up. I'm surprised you haven't done so yourself!

queenfee the spd is ok at the moment - I can feel everything loosening up and moving around and being a bit stiffer, but I still have pretty much full movement. I'll be off to osteo as soon as I get a minute to think about booking an appointment. I was recommended fortnightly chiropractor by someone at the party yesterday. I can't afford that so we'll see how it goes.

Things are much better this evening. I've had travel bands on all afternoon (not sure how much help they've been - daren't take them off!) and managed a banana, some boiled potatoes and carrots and a yoghurt (taking advice from Christiana) and feeling much better. It MUST have been a bug, thank goodness!

I'll be mad at work this week, so I'll wish everyone a good week now and catch up when I can. DH is desperate for the laptop so he can watch darts - man alive!

hobnob57 · 23/11/2008 21:17

cue heartburn.

woollyjo · 23/11/2008 21:35

Got my early scan 8wks + tomorrow not sure whether to be excited or terrified.

Hope all you sicky ladies are feeling better soon. Anyone else got a thing for cheesey wotsits?

mavornia · 23/11/2008 21:40

glad you're feeling better, hobnob. i do feel i have to hang on to my sanity with both hands at times here

hope everyone else is feeling well too.

o, i'd love some cheesy wotsits. and a pot noodle. and a sherbert dip (sadly not pregnancy cravings but regular treats for me!)

Belgrano · 23/11/2008 21:57

Crikey, I've been away a few days and look what I've missed! Pages and pages.
Sicky people, I'm with you. I found my travel sickness bands abandoned in my drawer from last time (they were useless last time) and haven't taken them off for 36 hours - I've been sleeping in them even though they make my wrists raw and red cos they are so tight (and I have skinny wrists !).
They do seem to be helping so might be worth a try, ladies?
Can't believe anyone's losing weight!! Eating is the only route to some normality for me.
Oh yes - any tips for being in the office? I work Mon,Tue,Wed and am dreading going in tomorow as sitting at my desk for hours and hours is bound to make general heaving and gurgling and waves of nausea worse (it's got much worse since last week). Barf...

Belgrano · 23/11/2008 22:02

PS Thanks mavornia and Christiana for your tips and luck on the roast pig. It was spectacularly gorgeous by all accounts, but I could hardly eat it by the time it came out. In fact I can't even think about it now without wanting to retch. Actually I had to run to the loo halfway through dinner when trying to force down the wretched stuff. I do not recommend trying it when you have MS!

mavornia · 23/11/2008 22:05

would a few drops of lemon oil or olbas oil sprinkled on a tissue help? you could sniff it and it might perk you up

slip into the toilet regularly and weep a few tears of self-pity too - that's what i would do

ginger biscuits in your drawer

naturopath · 23/11/2008 23:32

please don't say ginger biscuits, or crackers dreaded words!!!!!!!! - even the sight of them is making me feel sick.
Thanks

ready2pop · 24/11/2008 07:33

Hope everyone who is feeling sick gets some relief soon. I haven't felt sick at all yet, which is a bit of a worry in itself, but then I don't think it kicked in until a bit later last time. I'm with Belgrano on the travel sickness bands - saved my life last time around although they give the game away a bit.

Gosh you have all had big babies - my DS was a titch - only 5lbs 13. Still wondering about asking for a C-section or at least an early induction though as my labour was scarily quick last time. From the time I felt anythign at all until DS arrived was only an hour and a half. Luckily I was in the hospital anyway, otherwise I think he'd have been born in the car. I have visions of giving birth to NO 2 on the kitchen floor and trying to teach DS1 how to cut the cord [Grin].

kookykid · 24/11/2008 08:29

Morning ladies,

Well, I'm out of the running.

Have had this strange feeling something wasn't quite right and started bleeding last night. Heavy enough to know that's the end.

I am obviously feeling sad, but it is very early and I reckon if I wasn't actively ttc it would've just seemed like a late period, so back to the drawing board for me.

I hope you all have really happy and healthy pregnancies and gorgeous babies in July.

mickeylou · 24/11/2008 08:47

i'm so sorry kookykid.

My week has got off to a bad start as DH very ill. On masses on tablets so he's really cranky!

Have just uploaded some pics on profile if anyone is interested.

Andie01 · 24/11/2008 11:28

So sorry kookykid.

mavornia · 24/11/2008 11:47

so sorry, kookykid
sorry you won't be on this thread with us but i hope you're on another one very soon and that it all works out for you in the future

sending you love and very best wishes

Phoenix · 24/11/2008 11:55

Oh no so sorry Kookykid . Take care.

Queenfee - i can't see your profile.

Belgrano · 24/11/2008 11:56

Oh Kookykid, I'm really sorry too. Good luck in ttc next time when you get to that.

Belgrano · 24/11/2008 12:08

Having a spot of concern - any help welcome! When I got to work I inhaled a fried egg bap and then realised (after the event) that the yolk was runny and that's a no-no, right? How bad a mistake is it? I don't actually know anyone who has got salmonella from a fried egg in a canteen but can't help being a little bit nervous now.

Belgrano · 24/11/2008 12:23

Oh thanks Christiana. I kinda know it is fine, was just having a spot of paranoia. I also had salmonella once, again - Peru, grotty hotel, dodgy omelette etc.
Thank you though, feel better.
Eggs are good. Red meat is not but white meat and eggs still working for me... for now!

Potatoes.
To be served with yogurt??!
Just gobbled up a jacket potato with cheese and beans. Not great actually. Hopefully the accompanying can of Sprite will ease the pain soon though. Otherwise the loos are far far away from my desk...could be embarassing if I hurl in the corridor

mickeylou · 24/11/2008 13:20

i've just had an egg sandwich - it was the only one that appealed. had to take the tomatoes off though. pregnancy makes you weird doesnt it.

last time i loved the green yoghurt dip that comes with a takeaway curry. i mean loved it - could quite happily of had poppodoms and green dip every night of the week!

i feel ok today - felt a bit icky before lunch but thats gone now. long may this continue! is there a deluded emoticon?
