Lol Coop re the sieve don't apologise - that piece of info might come in very handy

KVG - thanks for the "sofa" tip!

It is comforting to know I'm not entirely alone in the "unmentionalbe" dept - thanks for sharing

Welcome Lynny! And CONGRATULATIONS!! I have an infuriating way of not telling dp something I don't want him to know. Eg if I knew the sex of the baby and he didn't want to know, I'd say "it's a girl" then he'd "is it?" then I'd say "no", then he'd say "really?" then I'd say "no", ad infinitum, then he'd never know for sure even when I told him the truth. Drives him insane, but it's a great system and works a treat cos I have a big gob

Hey Nab! Glad you didn't desert us after all Sorry you're still feeling upset. I know you'll be right as rain by next week. Sorry again all that stuff happened x

Welshie - I htink trefidatious is a word you know - a jolly good one! I'm gonna nick it I'll comment on your Welsh names, definitely not qualified to though..

Still got a bit of catching up to do, only up to 10.19 - so will check back in after I've done the dog

charleypops · 10/03/2005 12:31

oops - I meant to say, then I'd say "no, it's a boy", then he'd say "really?" then I'd say "no" then he'd say something like "so it's a girl?" then I'd say "no".. etc

See you later

hey everyone

at work as usual peeking in when should be doing other stuff.

However, I have been doing some serious market research (thought I should do my bit). Have bought M+S speckled choc mini eggs and mini creme eggs to compare and contrast. Only in the name of science of course.

I am a very happy pregnant woman today because....I have a filing cabinet! In the ongoing nesting 'phase' this is a top achievement. Particularly as I got it for free as I cheekily asked for it after I saw it in a corridor after a meeting. Also rather pleased with myself as got the porters to load it into my car. It's amazing how far a pregnant belly can get you sometimes...tee hee

Thanks KVG - we like Taliesin too. It's a boys name - was a very well known ancient Welsh bard, 6th century I think....
I have to just take a moment to complain about my stomach, I'm seriously cross with it. It's decided it can't take much food now - a complete meal for example. Last night my tea was 3 mini spring rolls! Followed 2 hours later by some chocolate raisins. This is very annoying. Anyone else at this stage now? Feel like all my organs have been totally squished as wmffre continues its inevitable rise towards my chin. Maybe this is because I'm not growing out much - just upwards. Oh dear and still another 12 weeks to go!

Uwila - Agree with whoever said to let off steam. Let rip, you may feel better!
That full feeling is v annoying. Haven't got it quite yet but know it is not far away (26wks+4). I remember feeling starving and then being full after three mouthfuls. V annoying. I can't eat my dinner on the sofa anymore though and have to sit up straight at the table. When I had my nightmare I had to sit up to breathe too as I was crying so hard.

welshmum · 10/03/2005 13:13

That's exactly it Cooperoo - I desperately want food but then can eat hardly any of it. I really am quite cross (funny really)

Coop - thanks for the travel system thoughts. One of the tricky little aspects of our current situation is that I have no idea where we are going to be living when bubs comes along. (Prob should have a think about that at some point too). Consequently don't know if, say, shops/library will be in walking distance or whether most things will be a drive away arrrggghhh. This is part of the reason for my apathy and a vague notion that waiting til the baby was born (given we have another car seat to use) might be an option.

I thought I might go and have a look at the Jane though - Mothercare don't seem to stock them so any thoughts from anyone on where this mythical item is to be found? I know they are cheaper in Spain, could this be an excuse for one last tripette to Barcelona I wonder?!

redhead, congrats on the filing cabinet, I'm sure you'll be very happy together

Uwila, as the others have said, feel free to let rip if you need to. You have a hell of a lot to deal with just now, let us know how/if we can help.

uwila · 10/03/2005 13:40

Oh yes Welshie, Alex is finding place to hide in that don't actually exist, like the spave between my ribs and longs. There is no such space. Get back down where you belong! The more time he spends wedged into my chest cavity, the more I wonder if he too has tied himself up in the cord.

Isn't Taliesin the also the name of FrankLloyd Wright's school of Architecture in Arizona? Did he pinch the name from the Welsh?

nab · 10/03/2005 13:41

Have any of you got a 19 month old girl like mine? She is still driving me mad with her poo poo antics. The latest is to go to the loo, put the light on, try and flush, climb up to wash her hands and then leaves. Er, just forgot to do anything!!! Shall I just bite the bullet and out knickers on and say no more nappies? It's no big deal really but every time I have to go in the loo I remember I still haven't mopped the floor and it is time I could be eating chocolate, etc etc.

redheadmum · 10/03/2005 13:46

yes, I feel this filing cabinet will finally be the Meaningful Relationship that was missing in my life......

Uwila - meant to say - let rip! just you wait til I'm sleep deprived then you will see true moanitis. Am hoping that MN will be the place to let it all hang out......

travel systems- I was gonna suggest that you wait until the baby is born. After all you can manage with a sling for the first few weeks, and then you have a live subject to try out the pram on. Plus you'll have a bit more idea of what you want. We bought a pram that didn't fit into the boot of the car...very clever. Ended up buying another pram a bit later when Dd could sit up and I wanted something light for the tube. (this goes completely against my whole nesting ethos of course)

nab · 10/03/2005 13:49

They are still bloody discussin me!! Have put a final posting on. I am sorry to anyone who was interested in buying them, just waiting on 1 reply I think, but I think I will stop looking at my ads.

WigWamBam · 10/03/2005 13:53

Sorry, don't like to intrude, but please don't let a few people making jokes put you off Mumsnet. We're not all like that, nab, and the support that you can get here is more important than a few people who are not on your wavelength. It would be a shame to miss out on everything else that MN has to offer.

mummytosteven · 10/03/2005 13:55

phew WWB, thought there wsa something you had to tell me

slink off - but before I do, don't suppose anyone's heard from Berolina at all?

WigWamBam · 10/03/2005 13:57

No, nothing to own up to, MTS! Just spotted that nab was upset and wanted to try and be nice.

PinkArjuna · 10/03/2005 13:57

I think Bubba has moved and has his head in the right direction. Well he seems to move less lately. I don't like it. I was up most of last night thinking he was dead He moved a bit this morning but they weren't the same movements as usual. I think I might ring the midwife up. I know he was lying stamping his fists and feet into my bladder before and it was incovenient because Sometimes thought he kicked so hard I'd pee my pants Oh he seems to be moving a bit more now. Just he seems kinda weak compared to before - the kicks aren't so powerful.

Cooperoo · 10/03/2005 14:04

WWB - You aren't intruding, we are all grateful of support and it is just bizarre what is happening with Nab's threads. Why are people so interested? Odd and pathetic IMO.
I agree Nab to leave the threads. Make sure people can CAT you and if they want to reach you they can do it that way.
Welshie - Can you do a phonetic spelling of your exciting Welsh names. Sorry for my ignorance.
i have just had to wake dd up and she is v hot. Temp of 39.5 and unsurprisingly she just wants to lie in bed. She has been ill on and off like this for two weeks now. She was charging around with her pal this morning for three hours. It comes on so quickly.
Nab. My dd is two on the 24th and we are no where near ready for potty training. I was hopeful too as she is in cloth nappies. She is just not bothered if she is wet or dirty .
Never mind. No rush. She is still in a cot too and I have no intentions of moving her for a while yet. (We can get a RAF cot for dbump.
Uwila - So lovely to hear you talk of Alex! I am sure that he is not getting tangled up like your dd. That was so unfortunate and terrifying for you. An awful experience.

nab · 10/03/2005 14:05

wigwambam thank u for that

pinkarjuna i would def ring the midwife. i am always paranoid but i think if i am happy to make a fool of myself, cos all is ok, then it is better to be checked. let us know how you get on.

Cooperoo · 10/03/2005 14:09

Oh Pink, it is worry isn't it. It does no harm to go call the midwife and go and be monitored for a while if you are worried. Much better than worrying yourself at home feeling helpless. Call her or the hospital and see what they say. They do move a bit less I think as they get bigger and change position but I don't really know the timings. Call if you are worried and DON'T feel silly
Haven't heard from Berolina since she posted on the June stats thread, before I really even joined...Hope she is OK. I think she had been poorly.

redheadmum · 10/03/2005 14:15

Pink - I remember getting worried about this too. Have you done a kick chart? the midwife will probably ask you to do one anyway, but also it can be quite a relief to see the no of movements over a day. But get in touch with MW anyway - that's what they're there for!

WelshMum - prefernot says 'hi'

potty training - my Dd is 28months and haven't started yet. Just going with the flow (if you'll excuse the pun)...we're reading I want my potty and she's starting to take a vague interest. Think she'll get there when she goes to nursery and sees other kids going to the loo.
