Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 06/11/2008 08:42

morning

lg&t - yes bracken hope

i am 30 weeks today

largeginandtonic · 06/11/2008 09:45

Bracken is very sweet and goes nicely with your dd's name too, you are organised. We are still going round in circles. Nothing new there, hopefully we will have a short list by the time she arrives

Givethedog this is baby #7 and my LAST Some of mine have been know to wail like banshees at the fireworks too. We are off to a school organised display on Friday so fingers crossed the baby doesnt mind it all! The fanjo pains are lovely, they nearly make me dance on the spot, not a good look at 30+ weeks pregnant

Gumps i would be twitchy too, builders make me nervous. I gutted and re did my last house it was the most stressful thing i have even done! Most of it was spent chasing builders up! Hope they come back soon, with hold payment and they soon come back.

Buckles a friend onmy postnatal thread has just bought the Vibe, her second baby is due in 5 weeks. She loves it!
Liz the classes are a great idea to get to know people. Hopefully you will 'click' with someone and become firm friends.

MsSparkle what pains? I missed it all. Are you ok? The p&t is fab, i have had one before. That is a bargain price too!

MsSparkle · 06/11/2008 10:29

largeginandtonic this is your baby no 7 I keep wondering how i will cope with 2!

qumps, the pains are still there but very mild, like faint dull period pains. Still waiting on the results for my urine test to see if it's a urine infection.

Think i may have over done it this morning on housework. Haven't done any all week because i just could not be bothered so now i have had lots to do. Just putting my 4th load in the washing machine!

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 06/11/2008 11:36

wow 7 lg&t how old are they?

largeginandtonic · 06/11/2008 12:17

The twins are 10, dd is 8, ds#3 6, ds#4 3, ds#5 18 months almost.

It's like a fecking zoo at tea time. We have started Xmas shopping this week, can you imagine it

I had some kind of infection when i had the twins at 29 weeks, it gave me niggly labour pain but more than anything i just had a feeling something was not quite right. Keep on at them MsSparkle.

largeginandtonic · 06/11/2008 12:19

Housework!! FGS step away from the washing machine woman!

qumps · 06/11/2008 13:00

fgs must be a day for it. ds at nursery on thursdays to give me a break but have so far been swimming, to tescos, washing and cleane dup. am exhausted now so hollyoaks (my guilty pleasure) and a choccy bar calling.
mssparkle not good they are still there. i think you are doing too much!! people always say that to pregnant women, esp second or more timers, but don't then seem to offer to do any of it for you!!

qumps · 06/11/2008 13:01

by the way lg&t i would love 7 kids in my head but not sure if i could cope with the reality. although hard work christmas must be amazing in your house.

Booksgalore poor you sounds like you are having a rubbish time, I never realised how stressful decorating was until we moved four weeks ago and I just could not cope until house was sorted. Must be our nesting instincts wanting everything perfect. Just hang on in until you finish work, I am v that you only have another week, i'm full time until the middle of dec and will be v busy until then.
I'm doing an nct 'weekend' this week, not quite sure what to expect but hopefully will give us some useful info.

MrsMagpie · 06/11/2008 14:28

Booksgalore you need a very big hug and a cup of tea.

I'm having bouts of insomnia too. Also so relieved to hear about the Fanjo pain!!! I've been getting it too. I've got 8 weeks to go and have been getting really worried about it. I keep wondering what the little bugger is doing in there.

Can I get some opinions please on Moses baskets. I have decided that I really want one so we can have beanie in our room to start with. OH is of the opion that they are too expensive and aren't going to last for very long so if I do get one he doesn't want me to spend lots of money on it. My view is that she could be in there for three months and as it's her first bed should be as lovely as possible.

What does everyone else think and if you have got one how much did you spend on it?

buckles · 06/11/2008 15:16

I have managed to borrow one- do you have any friends that are done with theirs- think that mine has been through about 5 different people. then all you need is the matress.

qumps · 06/11/2008 16:17

i was bought one by mil but have leant to about 5 people since. tbh we didn't use it that much but at the same time it was invaluable for the first few weeks. had big plan of ds staying in with us for 3 months but after 4 weeks and no sleep for either us or baby we moved him into his own room. he also used to bang his arms on it alot, it was my alarm clock for feeding! however have cats so used the mb alot downstairs too.
why do we all leaving decorating untilt he last minute? birth seemed so far away for ages but what with christmas now seems fightening close.....

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 06/11/2008 16:38

MsSparkle · 06/11/2008 17:03

qumps that is very true. People say to me i am doing too much but if i don't do it, it won't get done. Then it will bug the hell out of me having everything messing.

I got a moses basket for dd, although that was over two years ago now I think i paid about £30 for it but had to buy the stand seperate. I bought the cheapest one in toys r us. Now though i realise i paid too much and see them in the paper advertised second hand for a fiver! Might be worth looking in your paper?

you are brave

gtdab - your parcels sound good i have bought lots of newborn cute outfits and babygros they are tiny

chefswife · 06/11/2008 18:40

"anyone having those yet? You know the red hot poker shoved up your fanjo feeling." NO! what the heck is that. not looking forward to it at all.

DH and i went for a lovely dinner at a friends restaurant last night and a night cap at anothers... it was such a lovely date night. then we came home and i was in bed by 10.00. so very tired at night. not complaining though because it means that i am getting some sleep.

We also got the cheapest moses basket from toysrus for DD - wasn't great but did the job and she was only in it 3 weeks as was a tall baby and slept with her arms above her head. If I had my time again I'd have got a better quality 2nd hand one since the one we had was really rubbish quality and the hood would collapse on it all the time and the handles were frayed but it was handy at first.

Have bought an arms reach co-sleeper crib that attaches to our bed this time since DD slept in our room to nearly 7 months and co-slept for quite a lot of that so planning on doing same again but this time with a bit more space.

Set the bed up today to have a look at it and bless her, DD got in the co-sleeper and tried to curl up to go to sleep think she was tired.

Went to Harrods this week to see Santa - was a lovely day out Xmas shopping, but a long trip from the frozen north. We're trying to get a few Xmas activities in early since will not be feeling like much by mid-December.

No paint on nursery here either - have given in and booked decorater for 1st week of Dec, was only way it was going to happen. PILs are making it my Xmas present!

Books, sounds like the week from hell, put your feet up over the weekend and look after yourself. Sounds like you need a good rest and some chocolate... and wine... but you'll have to wait for that

LG&T my hat is duly removed to you... and there's me wondering how I am going to cope with 2...

LenniEd · 06/11/2008 19:36

And giveadog - no it hasn't worked, but we can't see your profile at all, think you just need to change that so it is public or whatever the setting is called.

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/11/2008 20:42

Can't remember who was asking about iron supplements but I saw my GP today ( diff one to the one who prescribed me 3x 200mg a day). Anyhow, this one said I only need take one tablet a day & that the body can't absorb any more than this. She used to be a haemotologist & can't understand why is common practice for GPs to prescribe iron in these doses. HTH whoever it was, definitely makes me more likely to take the bloody awful things.

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/11/2008 20:58

MrsMagpie I borrowed a Moses basket for DD cos we had one bedroomed flat & not much space. Just had to buy a new matress so not expensive & the pram sheets & blankets fit it. She used it for 4 months(but is just a little thing) & it was lovely & snug. Also can be handy for naps if you want baby in living room rather than upstairs for instance & could easily be taken to someone else's house in car if you are visiting/ want baby to stay overnight. That said, I wouldn't actually buy one as is useful for such a short time but would defo try to borrow one if you can.

30 weeks here too. I've got the crotch zingers too. Had forgotten about those from last time. Also started feeling sick again and keep forgetting it means I'm hungry. Did enjoy the last couple of months feeling good though. If only DD had slept through I think it would have been perfect. Just hope the current good nights continue til xmas!
