Hello I am in the North but will try to fit in with everyone else as I am probably the furthest away in Sunny Cumbria. I finish work in 4 weeks so any day is good after that and I am esy with DS I can bring him or get a sitter! Although I do think alot of us have them around the same age so it might be nice as they would probably play. And as long as peeople on pg1 don't mnd getting a taste of things to come

ruthosaurus · 08/09/2008 12:11

Hi all,

I'm in Sheffield and finish work on the 17th October. I'm not sure about before then at weekends because of all the lovely decorating DH has planned for me...

No DCs, this is my first (eek). Any location is cool by me as long as it has toilets and chairs.

mum2becks · 08/09/2008 19:40

Hi everyone,

I am in Sheffield too but am flexible as to where we meet within reasonable travelling distance! I can do most dates as I'm not working at the moment but if poss would prefer wed/thurs/fri as dh's days off are mon & tues as he works weekends!

It would probably be easier for me to bring dd with me if possible as not always easy to get someone to have her during the day.. I'm due on the 1st Nov so you might not want it to be too close incase I start in labour during our meet up!!! (thats one way for you all to remember me )

ceebee74 · 10/09/2008 21:33

Hi

I am quite flexible about when/where we meet too. Any time in October would be good apart from Fridays as I have promised my boss that Fridays would be one of the days I will work when I drop to 2 days a week.

It sounds like it would be good to bring our DC with us aswell so any ideas where in South Yorks there is somewhere where they could play?

x

Hullo! I'm midlands based - in South Staffs at the moment but moving to North Staffs soon (hopefully). I'd be up for a meet up but as I don't drive, I'd be relying on DH to have a day off work to give me a lift, so can't say for definite that I could get there. Alternatively, once I know when we're moving house and we've got everything straight, you could all come over to mine (although I appreciate that it may be a bit far to travel). If I did get DH to drive me elsewhere, I'd be bringing DS with me (he's currently 16 months old) - would that be ok?

ruthosaurus · 13/09/2008 11:17

Hi all,

How's the week starting 20th October looking? Purely selfish as am working up til then!

Creena, where are you moving to in North Staffs? My mum lives in Leek which is about an hour and a half's drive from Sheffield, but Bakewell is in the middle and is Quate Nace for teashops etc...Plus maybe ducks on the river to feed for littlies.

Anyone else up for a bit of Peak District action?

vbab78 · 13/09/2008 14:14

I am willing to drive in order to meet up with you ladies of course and Bakewell (& tea shops) sounds lovely although not sure how DS would be in a confined space!

Only thing is I am a little worried about having a meet up late in October (I would be 38wks ish) and me having to drive, especially not near home. Just a little worried that this baby may come early (DS was 2 weeks over). Unfortunately dont know what to suggest but I really do want to meet you ladies.

Any suggestions for a solution so we can meet up before babies arrive or meet up after?

Mm, I agree that w/c the 20th Oct might be pushing it a bit! I'm not due til 12th Nove, so I wasn't thinking, sorry: brain is all stewed in its own juices at the mo'.

Tea shoppe idea is only that - there's got to be a better alternative for littlies. As bump is my first, I'm not v up to speed with child friendly places - a bit like you don't know where ALL the loos in your town are until you get pregnant...

Anyone got any good child-friendly ideas? I'd offer my place as a venue but I think it'll be all wet paint and sawdust right up til the birth.

I don't mind driving peeps to anywhere from Sheffield, if anyone wants to risk getting a lift with me , but please don't give birth on the back seat! Plastic sheeting supplied (joke). I am now VERY gentle at going over speedbumps but if bringing DCs I'd need to be able to pop your car seat into the back of my car (no isofix, I'm afraid - it's from the last century).

OMG, I just checked my diary and I have ONE weekend left before October - the last Sunday in September looks free still at this stage. How the hell did I let that happen?
October looks similar - I don't think I've left a weekend free to have the baby in until my due date .

LackaDAISYcal · 25/09/2008 09:25

Oh, I hadn't seen this thread at all.

Count me in; not fussed where or when, but I need to get back for the school run so not too far....although if it's a Monday or Friday, DH can do the school run so I can be more flexible.

Pinkali37 · 25/09/2008 09:28

Hello,

I'm in ... so long as it fits in with work

LadyBuzz · 25/09/2008 10:11

I'm def in although prob not until after baby arrives as I'm finding it hard to drive now. I'm only 5'1 and can't get the seat close enough to be comfortable on the pedals without it touching my bump .
Def on for a post birth meet up though!

Pinkali37 · 25/09/2008 10:25

Thinking about it perhaps a post birth meet up would be the best thing? Give us something to look forward to????????

ceebee74 · 25/09/2008 10:41

Ooh yes, Meadowhall sounds good to me - but just realised that post-birth (for me) is going to be December so Meadowhall will be busy with the Christmas shoppers.

But really whenever is fine with me

ruthosaurus · 25/09/2008 14:43

Hi ladies - I'm back! Well, I actually live about 10 mins drive from Meadowhall, so if M'hell is really awful in the pre-xmas rush we could always zoom off to mine as long as you ignore the inevitable Dickensian squalour.

ruthosaurus · 25/09/2008 14:49

That's not how you spell squalor, is it? Now both spellings look wrong.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/09/2008 16:38

Tea and cake at rutho's house it is then . I'll bring some cake.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/09/2008 16:39

or some scones to warm up on the range hot plate

ruthosaurus · 25/09/2008 16:58

Only if we can afford the coal, dearie

I may be able to organise some gruel.

Pinkyminkee · 25/09/2008 17:04

hello! I can get to Sheffield dead easy, and the train stops at meadowhall I think. Can I join in? Would have to get back for school pick up.

ruthosaurus · 25/09/2008 17:13

Sounds good to me! Where are you coming in from again?

Pinkali37 · 25/09/2008 17:15

When are we talking?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/09/2008 17:16

I'll bring some coal and tallow candles.....and will try and remember my fingerless gloves

Pinkyminkee · 25/09/2008 17:19

I'm in S.manchester- it's a really easy train journey. Don't think I'll have my driving licence in time.

ruthosaurus · 25/09/2008 17:52

Okay - here are some due dates, nicked from the stats list (many apologies if I left you off, I'm getting kicked to smithereens here):

1Nov mum2becks DC2
3Nov Vbab78 DC2
3Nov Creena DC4
3Nov Pinkyminky DC3
6Nov LadyBuzz (formerly Bubbaz) DC2
6Nov LackaDaisycal DC3
12Nov ruthosaurus DC1
14Nov Pinkali37 DC1
26Nov Ceebee74 DC2

I think that's everyone, so Ceebee, you are going to be massive or v recent - you okay with that?

What about a weekeday in earlyish December? Some of us will inevitably have smaller babies than others, but due dates are a total lie anyway, or so I heard...
