Nadss - I'm taking pregnacare and mum-omega vitamins (purely on the basis I did so when pregnant with DS so doing the same this time round!). The mumomega capsules seemed to help with pregnant brain last time round. I dont think it can hurt but if you're having a balanced diet anyway dont think you really need them.

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 16:38

Good afty ladies, hope we are all well?

I'm on the Sanatogen pink bottle that is a multi vit for ttc, pg & bf. I've been on it for about 4 yrs now . I do get a varied diet but it made me feel better through the m.s times when all I could eat was toast.

I felt flutters from 14.5 with DS and 11 weeks this time. My MW told me to expect them from about 12wks with 2nd pg. You should know if it's baby within 10 mins KT! (i.e you wont fart) ( sorry)

lardybump · 29/08/2008 17:21

evening everyone. Hope you are all well. I am taking pregnacare just to ensure that bean is getting all it should..

I have put on loads of weight but not going to tell you all how much...

I felt flutters from 15 weeks with dd and am feeling them now (14 weeks).. Towards the end of pg with dd we could see the toes of her feet through my tummy and she used to kick dp out of bed....

onwardandupward · 29/08/2008 17:37

I think I'm on pregnacare. Brown lozenge-shaed tablet, got them in Boots... also taking fish oil so I get a really really brainy one and quite often I take vit D, because we've had almost no sunshine this summer.

I have put on weight since conception but do not own scales and MW has not weighed me. I put on a good 3.5 stone last time - maybe even 4 stone actually, and had lost it all with the bfing within a year of giving birth (though your bottom never goes back to being perky [deep sigh]), so I'm not worried this time around. I'm not going to alter what I eat depending on what a set of scales says, anyway - I'm trying to follow my body's cues (which, fantastically, are still saying "feed me fruit... more fruit... yoghurt... salad... protein" and "ewwww" if I wave sweet things at my mouth. This is not what happened last time when it was much more a case of "feed me anything as long as it's from Greggs" )

I was also taking Folic Acid for the first 12 weeks. I have had two recent appointments with the Doctor and Matrona and have been asked both times if I am taking vitamins. I said that I was not as I never did with either of my other two DD's. The have said that although I felt I did not need them, they would not hurt and they would benefit the baby. I am now taking some pregnancy ones bought from a supermarket in England.

Just feeling very tired with loads of aches in the tummy region. I feel like I have done loads of sit-ups. Jt going to take it easy this evening. I need my bowl of porridge I think. According to the packet there are loads of vitamins and calcium in it, so I am pleased that it is something I like. My calcium intake is really high due to the amount of cereal, cheese and yoghurts I am eating. I love cracker diet breads, so I am getting loads of fibre which I need and I am loving orange juice. I hope my diet is ok, but at least I am eating even if I am off meat.

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 17:39

Oh wow LB that must be so freaky (in a good way) I missed out on all of that with DS being breech. I got the odd elbow but that was it.

Go on - share the blush! We are due on the same day . I've gone from 10.3 pre bfp to 10.9 but I'm pleased as I put on a stone with DS by 12weeks . I was 11 stone when I fell pg before so I'm not going to start counting until I hit that . Anything in the meantime is free weight so bring on the magnums

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 17:40

O&U. My body says "icecream & fizzy cola bottles NOW!" and "get thee behind me vegetables"

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 17:41

You also sound very virtuous Singing.

God I'm gonna be such a bloater...............

Singingintherain · 29/08/2008 17:45

Just love fizzy cola bottles and anything else sour. The sugar makes baby move even more. Ice cold drinks work, as do hot cups of tea etc.

I know that I could do with more vegetables, so I am going to make more homemade soup.

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 17:49

I just made a lentil and veg dahl in the attempt to be good. DS cleared his plate and went for 2nds but I must admit I forced every mouthful whilst thyinking of pizza and cheesy garlic bread

lardybump · 29/08/2008 17:54

Spotty, I was 8.5 stone before I got pg with dd and just before I had her I was 14 stone. ! I was 10.5 before I found out I was pg with this one an I am 11.5 already!! I am going to be so fat by the end of it all and its going to be even harder to loose this time around!!!!! But I just can not say no to naughty food.... My pitfalls at the moment are liquorish allsorts, haribo sweets and salt and vinegar crisps.......

I feel like I diet for most of my life so I think I see pregnancy as an excuse to let go a bit (or rather a lot)!!!

I do think I was under weight before I got pg with dd though as I am 5 foot 7. But had just slimmed down for my sisters wedding and wanted to get into the dress...

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 18:03

Well I only put on 9lbs after my initial stone in 12weeks with DS and I didnt hold back so you may be the same this time? The fact I've put on less so far makes me think i'm going to keep putting on at a good rate and be rather huge!

It is going to be harder to shift 2nd time round isn't Oh well, cross that bridge in a year or so

I'm with you on the sweets - damn haribos

Cocodrillo · 29/08/2008 18:17

I've not put on any weight yet (14 weeks), but since I started off a stone heavier than last time, and 1.5 stones heavier than the first time, I'm quite pleased...

One memorable week during my last pregnancy I managed to gain half a stone in a week!

lardybump · 29/08/2008 18:20

I think I may put the scales in the bin this time what do you think!!!! Will save agonising over my weight gain..... And if anyone asks how much weight I have put on I can say I dont know and mean it...

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 18:28

Ah feck it, tiz the internet and none of you know me so I should be honest.... I'm actually 7 stone and haven't put on any weight yet, I have the tits of an 18 year old and am married to George Clooney.

MarkStretch · 29/08/2008 18:33

Evenin' all.

I went to see my midwife today and I feel very reassured by her. When I saw my consultant (who was a bit of a twat too) he frowned on my idea of a VBAC and offered me a caesarean.

He said if I did go for a VBAC then I would be forced to lie on the bad and be continuously monitored which I was not happy about, and terrified of another CS.

My midwife said he was basically talking a load of shit and said I could have an active labour with some monitoring and a low dose epidural so I can still move about and I should be fine.

She said she would like to kick the consultant up the arse.

By the way her surname is Greef and my other miswife is called Cruella

lardybump · 29/08/2008 18:48

ummmmmmmmm spottyshoes I am sure Mr C isn't married are you fibbing??????? !

That is great news MarkStretch, what a bloody git your consultant was. Glad you have a nice midwife though it makes all the difference.

MarkStretch · 29/08/2008 19:15

singing what kind of magazines do you read?

Reveal, OK, Hello, Horse and Hound, Readers Wives.....

MarkStretch · 29/08/2008 19:40

Oh yeah and the midwife has also referred me for physio for the arse ache.

Clarabumps · 29/08/2008 19:42

hello peeps,
c'est moi- the big fatty!i may well have overtaken my last 4 stone that i put on with ds. feel like such a bloater and havent taken any vitamins hangs head in shame and have just ordered dominos!!!
somebody stop me- i need an intervention now. did feel a kick the other day..a small flutter but it was definately something that was not wind.
has anyone started buying stuff yet??

Clarabumps · 29/08/2008 19:43

i'm here!!! i'm lying behind the front door waiting for the dominos man....

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 19:52

Moi??? I do not fib LB - I outright lie am outraged at the mere suggestion!

Lol @ the names of your MW's MS, I hope the 1st one lives up to her name and gives that consultant some Greef. Tosser. Interesting about the epi tho, hadn't heard of anyone recommending it for a VBAC.

I haven't bought anything yet ClaraB unless you count the Cotbed that DS was due as he was too big for his cot (which is now in the nursery). So actually no, it's 2nd hand for 2nd DC again! if this one's a girl she will be in blue .

I feel a bit guilty actually as am really noticing the PFB syndrome. Wanted to buy EVERYTHING with DS, now, not so bothered Only need a double buggy which mum is buying and maybe some prettier nursing bras! Am investing in hypnobirthing classes though which I didn't last time.

Singingintherain · 29/08/2008 19:52

LOL MarkStretch.

No, I mainly are looking for some about pregnancy and birth etc. I really need start preparing myself for the birth and also see what is on offer in shops to buy, tips and advice etc. Although, I can not buy some of the items they publish, I hoping that I might be able to get some things sent over and my DH bring them back after his possible visit to England in November. I have not bought any so far as I have been to fightned just in case of another miscarriage.

I wish I had as many choices for birth as you do in England. I have been warned that over here it is very medical orientated. You have a gown and you lie in bed with stirrups and it is treated more like an operation. DH's and DP's are not normally present. I am dreading that and I am worried about being on my own with very limited language. I know that I will have to wait and see. I am hoping that if I manage to get to the private hospital I may have more choice. We are not sure if I will be able to get there though as it is in the city and you have to use a multi-storey carpark.

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 19:52

That would be outright lie of course!

spottyshoes · 29/08/2008 19:57

singing that doesn't sound too pleasant, and with no support?? Do they offer homebirths over there?

I have several back copies of Pregnancy and birth magazine you are welcome to if your DH comes anywhere near Lincs?
