Herbgarden - am going to tell work generally at the beginning of September (have been holding off as am currently sharing an office with a really lovely girl who unfortunately miscarried twins quite late on earlier this year - she's still having a really hard time coming to terms with things, understandably, and her sister is pregnant too (think she feel pregnant at the same time as me) so am waiting until she moves offices next week (so she doesnt need to dread coming into work and sharing office with pregnant woman) before I tell her and tell everyone else shortly afterwards.........

My fat suits are brilliant (in a ginormous shapeless kind of way) - I wore them last pregnancy for the first 5 months. They just make you look large rather than obviously pregnant

winemakesmummyclever · 26/08/2008 09:53

Morning!

Hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend (with or without earplugs - hope things are quieter now herby & dinky).

I think the ms has finally gone! Hurrah!! Of course, this now means that I am eating like a horse and shall soon be the size of a house . Got my mat jeans out at weekend and they are the most comfortable things I have had on in ages. Don't care if my little bump isn't enough to justify wearing them yet - they are here to stay!

I haven't told anyone at uni yet. Don't enrol again until the middle of next month, so no great rush. I'm sure the bump will be very obvious by then.

Oh well, suppose I had better go and do some housework as I have done bugger all over the weekend [filthy slattern emoticon]

SwampsterHasAWarmFuzzy · 26/08/2008 11:49

Great emoticon - might have to borrow that one!

LittleMissNorty · 26/08/2008 12:45

Hello ladies....still being sick here

Also won't bloom this time I think....approaching the big 40 and feel permanently knackered....DD has 6 teeth all emerging at once and she is hard work...

I have mat trousers on today for the first time.....not all becasue of my bump (I'm just fat anyway so take a while to show properly)....just because they are SO comfy

herbgarden · 26/08/2008 13:17

dinkystinky - wise move - I do remember now you telling us this on an earlier part of our thread. It's such a hard situation to be in - it's probably the last thing she wants to hear but also wouldn't want to appear to not be pleased for you.

LittleMissNorty....ooh nasty....the teeth and 6 - goodness. DS gets very clingy when teeth are coming through and just downright unreasonable about everything. You have my utmost sympathy.

Up with the stretchy trousers I say. I've been in the comfies since 12 weeks and am loving them - save that I only seem to have jeans which won't do really. Must get something else too as it does get boooring wearing them day in and day out...

supersteph · 26/08/2008 13:49

Hi every 1!! Hope all is well with the pregnancys. I am 17 weeks + 2 days today. The past 2 days I have developed a really big tummy. I was so worried I would never show. I am double the size I was last time at this stage!!! Hope baby isnot to big.

My last baby was only 5lb 4oz and was just about right for me.
Only three more weeks to go till we find out the sex. We do not mind what our baby is as long as he/she is healthy.

xx xx

dinkystinky · 26/08/2008 15:06

Teething is the pits - my sympathies, LittlemissNorty. DS was a very late teether (still half of his molars to come through) and is impossible when teething...

Supersteph - welcome to the weeble club! Glad to hear other people are "popping out" too.

Carnival is over (yay) so peace should hopefully reign in the dinky household tonight.

MrsThreads · 26/08/2008 16:12

Hello everybody

Please can I join you all? How do I get added to the list?

I am due on 16th Feb 2009 with our first child and I am aged 36 from Cheshire.

Heard baby's heartbeat this morning at hospital during an antenatal appointment and it was a good 150bpm :-) First time we had heard it so was lovely and still making me smile 6 hours on.

Quite new to this site so may take me a while to get to grips with it.

Nat 15+1 xx

spottyshoes · 26/08/2008 16:29

Oh lovely MrsThreads I love hearing it!

I cant believe some of you will be having scans again in a couple of weeks!! I've only just had my booking in one - sulky at being an end of febber

We had a lovely break, was lovely and warm so spent lots of time on the beach and DS had his 1st donkey ride! Feel bleurgh going back to work this morning but at least it's only 1 day this week thanks to the Bh.

How's everyone's symptoms? I have had a really odd blocked ear on and off since about 4 weeks - do you think it's pg related or not?

MrsThreads · 26/08/2008 16:42

Thanks Spottyshoes, I am too paranoid to get a doppler . Your holiday sounds lovely. Not sure about the blocked ear but wouldn't be surprised if it was pg related. I never thought being more snotty would be a pg symptom lol.

Time passes so quickly doesn't it - doesn't seem like 5 minutes since my 12 week scan and now I am a week away from my 16 week bloods.

xx

lardybump · 26/08/2008 16:49

Evening everyone, I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend... I havent had time to catch up on the thread but will do that now.

MarkStretch · 26/08/2008 17:16

Hello all

I am having 16 week bloods this Friday and big scan in 4 weeks time!

DD said to me today:

'I know why your bum gets so big when you are pregnant. It's so your minnie grows too and you can get the baby out.'

I wonder how long she had been thinking about that?

And if only it were true!

lardybump · 26/08/2008 17:18

PMSL at your dd markstretch. She has been thinking hard about that one.

spottyshoes · 26/08/2008 18:51

Right.... been on babymad, which dopplers have you all got? Am tempted by the ones with the lcd display but dont want to waste money if they are rubbish. I heard the Angel ones are a bit poo. Any recommendations?

dinkystinky · 26/08/2008 19:27

Love your dd's comment Markstretch - Pure genius! Seems like you are being deluged with size related comments from all sides of your family at the moment.

Spottyshoes - I havent bought a doppler (would drive myself - and DH insane - checking the heartbeat all the time) but pretty sure a couple of the others have (know Rosieposey has and Nadsss so maybe they can recommend some). My 16 week bloods are in week and a half's time - time is sure flying!

dinkystinky · 26/08/2008 19:29

MrsThreads - welcome to the thread. Hope you're enjoying your pregnancy and reaching the blooming stage....just copy and paste last version of the list you can find and type in your details and due date in the relevant slot.

LittleMissNorty · 26/08/2008 19:31

oh you're very brave....I'm far too paranoid to get a doppler - but now I can feel LO, it helps.

PMSL over your DD Markstretch.

Thanks for your sympathies ladies over a teething 14 month old .....it is hard going, but medised helps when really bad ....she is also developing a temper at the same time

LittleMissNorty · 26/08/2008 19:33

BTW are the 16 week bloods for those who haven't had a nuchal?

herbgarden · 26/08/2008 19:34

Is the 16 week bloods something they do everywhere?? Not sure we have those here....or is that the blood test for the downs result ?

jamescagney · 26/08/2008 20:06

hey everyone and congratulations y'all!. Am 17 weeks pg today! am booked in for an anomaly scan due to sister's spina bifida, what can I expect? Is is just a scan or will they be taking bloods again?

dinkystinky · 26/08/2008 20:45

Have to do the 16 weeks bloods tests as due to late booking in and holiday following week, I missed the 11-13 week pregnant period when they do the combined blood test to go with the nuchal at the hospital am booked in at. Dont think everywhere does the 11-13 week bloods, some places just rely on nuchal and others just go for the 16 week blood tests.

MarkStretch · 26/08/2008 21:16

I have only had bloods taken at my booking in which was at 8 or 9 weeks? God it wasn't that long ago and I've already forgotten!

Here they do bloods at 16 weeks.

Anyone feel like if they sit down wrong you sort of squash the baby?

I've been feeling lots of stretching about down there and feel like it's a bit awkward to sit down sometimes.

Here's a turnup for the books- DH came home from work exhausted and has already gone to bed! Just went up and he's asleep! That's been me for the last 3 months.

herbgarden · 26/08/2008 21:51

I'm very breathless and squashed up near my ribcage.......it's quite uncomfortable sometimes !

pluto · 26/08/2008 22:59

Hello and welcome to new posters. Hope everyone found some time to chill out over the BH weekend. We went to Canary Wharf on Sunday and watched the Olympics closing ceremony on a big screen. I expected 100s of people to be there but I think grey weather put people off. And I don't suppose Canary Wharf is ever very busy on a Sunday. We had a final holiday fling and went to Legoland today. It was packed. I looked after the bags while DH and DS stood in a lot of very long queues for non-pg friendly rides! All this energetic activity might suggest I should be blooming but I am very tired now. I'm back to work on Monday after a long holiday. I've done a countdown until I'm starting maternity leave: 80 working days. Have to do some serious saving so we can afford the loss of income next year - Legoland was our last extravagance for a long time! I'll have to tell the colleagues who need to know I'm pg when I return next week. I'm not sure they'll believe me though - I really don't have a significant bump at all.

TinkerBellesMum · 26/08/2008 23:32

My baby is five days older than the first dating scan said! I'm now due on 1st February, which is more like what we thought from possible conception dates - TBD is pleased to know he can be the father to one of his children!

Had a cervical length scan done last Friday and they're doing another this week. Then we're off to London to see Tink's brothers as it's the youngest's birthday on Thursday.

Tink got back from her holiday tonight, have missed her quite a bit and she missed me, I don't think I realised how much till I saw her! She wrapped herself around my neck and wouldn't let anyone else near us, hardly ate and wouldn't let me eat either! I've got to do it all again in October

Managed to get the living room and our bedroom sorted, just stripped everything out and sorted it all from scratch. Tink won't recognise the place when she wakes up!
