mustsleep I think I got my raspberry leaf tabs from a health food shop when I wanted them a couple of years ago. It wasn't a Holland and Barrat though, a local independent store.

Evening all. I'm back from my weekend away. It was great to spend all of saturday with my friend and her 4 week old. Made me realise how little brain-space I've given to this baby, and was like a mini refresher course in life with a newborn. Even on the rare occassions I'm at the midwife's and thinking about the baby, I'm still looking out for dd. So it was great to really think about the baby, and I felt I bonded more with it as a result. It was lovely going to starbucks (3 times in 2 days...) without a toddler too. I kept expecting her to appear in my peripheral vision! Given that its the first time I've been away from dd, I didn't miss her as much as I expected I actually missed dh far more, which is the way it should be, and is great coz he and I are going away together this coming weekend, hooray!
Sadly I didn't get as much sleep as I had hoped given there was no toddler to be woken by. The bed at my parents house is soooo uncomfortable and I couldn't get to sleep. Oh well, nice hotel for us next weekend!
So are there any baby announcements? Couldn't quite tell and haven't had time to read up.
I gather best wishes are being sent to potxola though. All the best!!

Just wondering, as its not really working as well for me lately ( I have been onit for 3 months now) and I wondered if I should take it at night before bed rather than morning....?

Sassafrass That is my nightmare. But it can ca cured very fast. Follow kiskide and Starlight advice. They are right. Feed through the pain trying different positions.

Girls thanks for your good vibes. I feel you will be all looking at what the surgeon does on Wednesday

hopefully · 25/08/2008 20:19

Mustsleep I got my raspberry leaf tea from a health food shop too. Can't hurt to drink the tea you have, but no idea if it will benefit or not!

Sassafrass · 25/08/2008 20:21

Thanks for all the advice, Katie has had a good long feed and it feels a bit better already.

Becaroo the other pain you describe sounds like SPD. sit on a carrier bag in the car which makes it less painful to get out.

biglips · 25/08/2008 20:54

hello girls

My SPD was returning back and i ended up walking round like John Wayne - honest!! so in so much agony as couldnt walk straight and my butt was killing me....i spent a whole day carpet cleaning with my huge Bissell...and i felt great the next day the SPD went. it must be the exercises that i was lacking

Mustsleep - good news to hear about your cat

Sass - ouch!.....i remember when my DD was born with it too...it looked really inflammed.

biglips · 25/08/2008 20:56

mustsleep - i got my Raspberry leaf tabs from Hollands and Barrett.

i will be starting on the pineapples, curry etc from the 1st!. i ate a fresh pineapple and it brought on the BH soooo strong!

eandz · 25/08/2008 21:08

i just spoke to my stepmom who forgets that she didn't give birth to me sometimes...so she was talking about her 1st pregnancy and then had to remind herself that the pregnancy she was referring to actually resulted in my little half brother and not me. (she can be kinda funny at times)

anyway told her about my vaginal pains and boredom and she kept telling me to be patient. she also got upset with me for things i was planning on doing to go into labor at the end of next week. she threatened to tell my mother. those two women combined could make rambo shake in his boots.

argh. mothers. argh. argh. argh.

becaroo · 25/08/2008 21:23

starlight am on 20mg a day too but its not really working any more Might do as you suggest and take 2 from now on....its not for long is it?

kiskidee SPD makes sense actually...have been finding walking increasingly difficult lately and watching me trying to get up from the sofa has my entire family in hysterics! Will try the carrier bag trick, thanks!

Getting REALLY fed up now, girls.....so much discomfort and nasty symptoms. Hope the rest of you are well x

eandz · 25/08/2008 21:26

becaroo

starlight

yes, they are newborns before they are tantruming toddlers. the joys, eh?

becaroo
in old age we're going to have to trade our spd for arthritis and bad hips while spending our pensions on our grandchildren. but i guess it'll still be more enjoyable since we'll get to leave at the end of the day.

splishsplosh · 25/08/2008 22:08

Good luck Potxola tomorrow and most of all for Wednesday when you get to meet Lorea

Glad your cat's ok now Meglet

I am totally shattered - have spent the last 2 days moving all our stuff from storage back to the house and trying to sort through it as well to have a clear out. Our house is on a hill and so we have loads of steps down to the house. The last 2 loads we left the things on the pavement to do after a rest, so we could empty the storage locker and return the van. P went out, then I found someone in the process of loading our computer desk into their car, and someone else picking through some books!!!So I had to move great big heavy boxes and bookshelves etc on my own, though some I had to leave in the garden on the way down. The electrician will find it impossible to finish the re wiring unless i can clear some things out, but i didn't want to leave things any longer - with dd my waters broke 2 days from now - i can't imagine getting much sorting done with a baby and a toddler, but p thinks I am mad to have brought the things back, so we have bickered about it much of the day!

Now long for bed but he has no key and no idea when he will be back

carrieon · 25/08/2008 22:12

Here's hoping everyone isn't too bothered by their indigestion and spd tonight. Sweet dreams everyone (cats included!)
